"Program Updater" program for WM6 - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Its a program updating program (lol i know that sounds funny) that was built into one of the roms I had installed...It would allow you to download new versions of programs straight from your phone...Ive been looking for the past couple days for it and havent been able to find the cab file for it. If someone could show me where I could find it that would be great!

There are a couple of programs I know of that it could be - search on 'apptodate' and the other is called 'Device Update' it's developed by CRCinAU... might come up on a search.... It's in the ROM I'm using, but I don't know how to extract for you - sorry!
Good luck

XDA 2i Alpine (PH10C) ROM Contents

I have the entire contents of the XDA 2i Alpine (PH10C) on my site, you can download it here. Please tell me if you find it useful.
Since a few people have downloaded it.... anyone have any idea which cab file is used to add the bloody annoying o2 active UI? i'm thinking one of the 2MB~ files....... man I hate that thing
v36024_install.ARM.CAB
v36024_install.ARM.CAB
This is evil... it's the o2 Active UI installer file.
When installing, just choose the "Corporate" option and use the password "0506" this will stop the O2 customisations (Ie it wont install that cab)

Hi Jayplucinski
Thanks for the timely posting
I'm a novice at the XDA2i, but curiostity has got the better of me and i would like to upgrade the features in extended ROM.
I'm currently doing the rounds of the various threads, working out how and what to do.
Do you have a breakdown on what each of the cabs do??
A location of or for useful cabs / exe's to install?? I think this would be a useful resource for upgraders like myself.
Thanks

I'm a novice too But some of the file names give things away a bit. Why not search for the filenames on google or on the forum itself? I'm sure that would weild a few results. But as you will see in my posts above.. I know which file installs the evil resource hog that is o2 Active UI
Hi Jayplucinski
Thanks anyway
Have noted the evil one!!
Miket
Hi jayplucinski, can you post me the Today Plug-in "Message".....Thanks !
Just to let y'all know
The file was deleted from my server about a week ago, after 800MB + of downloads, my provider was about to start charging me... so I had no choice The good news is, that I just FTP'd the file to XDA Developers And you can see it for download below If it starts to get a heavy load, i'll TRY and put it back on my site... but I'd need cash for that, of which I have none Donations please, JKS. Anyways enjoy.... again.
SNIP: It would have, but:
Upload Error: Could not upload Attachment to ./files/2i.rar.

Looking for an .exe install for the caps lock notification

Good afternoon,
I was looking for a program to install that will give us the notification on screen. I looked at a couple registry hack programs and understand how to add this but I was wandering if this is a simple program to install for the people who really don't want to start playing with the registry. Any help will be appreciated!

Live search out of beta

sorry if i'm late...
i didnt know live search was out of beta
http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?action=expand,53852
official link
http://mobile.search.live.com/client/download/wm/LiveSearch.cab
Awesome
Glad they kept it free. I really thought Microsoft was going to end up charging for this.
nice update...thnx
Awesome. I un-installed and re-downloaded this yesterday and never noticed it was the non beta. Good deal!
hmm.. Never knew it was out of BETA. Thanks!
I installed the new CAB without having unistalled the beta... now I seem to have both, but for the "live" of me I can;t find the EXE for the beta version. Anyone know where it is?
Guess it depends on if you installed it on the Storage card or Device. Look in the "Program Files" folder under "Windows Live Search" or just "Search" which is how it shows up under the Start Menu / Programs folder.
They added one of the features I was looking for. The ability to add looked-up items to contacts. Great. You can also SMS a look-up. And it seems faster. Better than the beta...
Device "Search" missing after Beta install
I'm not sure but it seems that this app replaces the devices local search app. Have anyone of you experienced this? The local device search was useful at times. Does anyone know how to get this back with Live Search installed?
thx

Any way to get back the Pocket IE welcome page?

Hi all,
Just got my 2nd new Kaiser (first one had White Screen of Death) and it also has the home page as a black screen with the HTC logo; not too usefull. Any ideas how to get back the Welcome Screen that has your most recently opened pages and search? Thanks for any ideas...
Ok, well I tried just copying over the default_0409.htm file (checked and all the image files etc. were already in the Windows directory). This brings up the correct looking page, but the Favourites and History buttons don't work; they open File Explorer at the Windows directory instead!
Would be glad for any ideas for what is missing on my Kaiser that I could copy over from the Hermes.
I have attached the file if anyone would care to have a look; I searched to see if any other html pages were linked for example, but I don't know script...
I tried the same thing but no luck
*bump*
Does no one else want this start page in IE? Thanks in advance for any ideas...
bump, that page is on the Mio A501 and it's pretty neat !
Guess no one else likes that page, thanks for the bump though! I have been fiddling but still can't get it to work....
Solved ------> HTC's PIE_Default_409.htm
Okay, There are two ways to do this!!!! The first is time consuming & involves multiple registry changes. I can walk you through it or send you a registry file to import (if you wanna trust me ) or you can do it the easy way!
Easy Way: I'm sure many of you have the absolutely great proggy SK Tools. Well, the new release (4.1.21.x) has a "Replaced Rom Files" function. So either buy the great program or download the trial. Launch the "Replaced Rom Files" tool & check the box for the item marked PIE_Default_xxx.htm (xxx = your language code), either click & hold or check the box, then select action, then select "Restore Rom File". Then enjoy your new "original" HTC PIE Homepage with expandale History & Favorites!

Not sure, might help if you post a JPEG of the screen? The TXT file you included does not work for me.
I just put together a cab file for this today using some files posted by another xda member (I don't remember who it was to credit them).

DANG IT YOU DOG! I jumped the gun on my post! I spent the last week flashing back & digging to find all the references that kept me from changing the by just importing the default_xxx.htm. I finished my cab & logged back in to post it & darn it all if you hadn't beat me to it!

LOL. It's pretty simple to correct with all the correct files. I actually just copied the files to my Windows directory when I first tried it out but figured I'd post a cab file to make it easier on everyone else
thanks for sharing, works fine on the Nike too.
Hi,
I tried running the CAB on my stock Orange HTC ROM, but I still get the orange homepage, not the (more useful) Internet Explorer page as promised above! Any ideas?
Your folder structure must be different. Did you soft reset after install? Otherwise you can do it with SK Tools if it was part of the original ROM.
I did soft reset, but no joy. I may look into SK Tools, although I have just managed to get Opera Mini up and running, so may play around with that instead. Thanks for the advice!

You can go into PIE under Menu, Tools, Options, and see the path and filename for your current homepage. It's possible that Orange uses a different filename as the default page. If you tell me what the filename is and where it's located I can make an updated cab for you.

Here you go. This file is for devices with the Orange ROM only!
You can uninstall the old one first.
Are you guys able to browse with PIE while on 3.5G/HSDPA?
After I open PIE, I receive this same screen on my Tilt, but I'm unable to browse anywhere (my hsdpa account is activated, of course).
I receive (in the bottom left corner) a message: "connecting", but nothing happens.
On the other hand, If I browse with WIFI on, using PIE, I can enter any URL without any problems at all.
In both cases, I can send & receive emails without any problems.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
As I replied to your other post, check your proxy settings. Which data plan do you have? Are you connecting to WAP or ISP?

Try This Album!!!!!!

curious if it is possiable to add this to htc album. a major part of album app that is missing from the wm2003 edition of album. can anybody figure a way to add this feature. also i have not been able to find a way to install the old album on a wm6 device...any help on either of these issues would be greatly appriciated. thanks!
UPDATE!-here it is i highly reccomend giving it a try ...trying to get an english translation though! just unzip and place in program files folder! ALL CREDIT TO TWEAKRADJE!!!!!
Update2-once you have album4wm5 installed overwrite with the album exe that i've posted make sure you do not install the camera exe as this will mess up your camera. this update will translate the album to english. now i will try and get some help with the delete/copy/paste issues not working. NOW YOU CAN BROWSE ANY PIC ON YOUR PHONE ZOOM IN AND SET AS TODAY BACKGROUND!!! ONCE AGAIN ALL CREDIT TO TWEAKRADJE!!!!!
The ability to set a background thru htc album doesn't seem to be in there. It's only for showing off what WM can do ... I don't think its supposed to be useful! haha.
My device still has "Pictures and Videos" on it... Doesn't yours? I'm using the TouchIT rom, but I don't know what is in or have been removed from the OpenTouch roms ....

yeah, I have pics and vids with the option i'm talking about....but both pics and vids AND htc album are missing important features that the old album from wm2003 had. pics and vids can't zoom and save as to the today screen. u r just stuck with your picture as is for the today screen. htc album can zoom any pic but you can't save to anywhere. u can use for a contact but still not in the zoomed form. this all sounds kinda picky on my part i'm sure but if u have ever used...or get the chance to use album wm2003 u will see how good a program it is. thanks for your response and keep an eye and ear out for any help on these programs. thanks again!!!!!!
Why don't you try and extract it from a WM2003 ROM? I'll see if I can do that some time this month... maybe.
I've only ever used WM5 and WM6 .. so I don't know what you're talking about haha. But I'm interested in finding out... maybe someone else can extract them since Ivan is going thru a computer crisis at the moment.

Just copy the CAB in that post over onto your phone via activesync ... then open the file explorer on your phone, find the cab and tap it to run the installation.
Don't install that cab because it overwrites the camera software as well...

I haven't used it, but I'm interesting in looking through it... I think, (again) that the best solution will be to decompile the ROM and look for all the needed files.

yeah, umm... thats a little beyond me.
still have my magician with wm2003se
could you guys possibly tell me what to look for that would need to be extracted? i would probably need to install total commander to investigate the files closer than what i could with file explorer... um...right?? i'm trying to help myself guys haha! oh by the way after installing that cab my camera still worked. but, when i dropped the files from the zip into the windows folder manually it did quit working. i got the files out and all is well. i was just excited momentarily to see the icon for this beloved program of mine in my program list. thanks again try not to forget about me..
