[ROM] French snap vue gps lightest

Hi,
Just a quick update for those interested in a light rom. I don't have much time right now to cook, but I've done some times ago a light rom in french.
This rom gives you 43 Mb free of storage after reset.
You can use UPX to reduce program size to get more space. This way, I have quite a lot installed on my device.
French users can use this, english can use the kitchen, and use the same folder and file structure ( by deleting non existing folder and files in the OEMdriver folder and oemapps) to get the same result.
To flash, use customruu program, run it as admin in the same folder as this nbh file. Rename the nbh file to RUUSigned.nbh

I think I will try to buy it elsewhere if only I can find somewhere to trust and have it fast.

I don`t think there is much difference with age of reason. I improved my knowledge between this one and the latest age of reason one.
Also, I think I didn't keep it ;-)

indeed age of reason is amazing. i ve got 25 mo of ram with pagepool set to 4. however it s not in french

I've got a SHIFT and, as a lot of people, i've wanted to use it at all !!! ;-)
So, i've tried a lot of roms and... Stoped to the IOO, an of course, not in french. I've tried all the responses done by the different users found on this forum, and, none's working ! :-(
So, can anybody give us a CAB with all the dll's and files to translete our EN SHIFT in a french one ?

There is no cab to change a rom to french. You need to ask the rom creator to make a french version. I doubt I00 has any french version.
I've done one without phone, if you can still find it. I don't have much plan to make a french version from current rom.

[SOLVED] Portuguese TMN original ROM

I would like to flash this wonderful coocked rom but i want to be able to revert to my Portuguese original rom/splash/radio. Can anyone suply that? Pleeeasee.

I've just dumped my rom with pdocread but don't now what to do now. i've read a thread from HTC Raphael but it uses their kitchen (probably not compatible with ours)

You have here an official Portuguese Rom (I installed it in my HTC).
It is the same version (1.14.410.0) but it's not customised by TMN.

Well, I can't provide the TMN rom but i can provide the cabs that tmn uses for making all the changes. Basically is what they do. They execute 5 cabs with customizations over the portuguese rom. They come inside the windows directory when they are shipped. So anyone can acess them and even better, if you check the inside you can see that the first ones makes some things wrong and the last cab 4 and 5 corrects some errors.
I have these cabs if you think it's helpful.

Right now I'm in another computer and i don't have them here, but after tomorrow i'll post them here.
Nevertheless, remember that these are 5 cabs that must be installed in order.
Also don't forget that they will change the bootupscreen, endscreen, ringtone, manila definitions (programs tab, internet browser), internet connection settings and so on. (Just a reminder)

Translating WM6.5 system language

Been reading up on how to translate WM-ROMs by use of MUI files. Working on making a swedish version of WM6.5. Maybe someone here can answer a few questionsmarks for me.
- Can MUI files be replaced pro-flash or do they have to be cooked in pre-flash?
- Is there language-specific content located anywhere but the MUI files?

it is not possible to change language after flash
you have to cook the new language into the recipe
My suggestion would be: use ervius VK
1- dump a swedish ROM
2- use the swedish OEM and EXT folders
3- use the swedish ROM/Kovsky/"build no."/ folder (OEMXIPKernel), just change the old build numbers to the new build ones
4- use the new ROM/Shared/"new build no."/ folder (MSXIPKernel)
4- use the new build SYS folder, but replace all 0409 folders with swedish ones from the same SYS build or similar build (eg. you can add 23022 swedish files into a 23028 build)
5- cook

May I suggest reading my thread....
Because yesterday I uploaded a Swedish wm6.5 visualkitchen based on 23028....

ANSWERS:
So HTC Europe is for the WWE version and includes English as the default language?
- So it looks. Installed, language is English. Act likes the WWE.
And all national versions (ITA, NOR, FRA, etc) are localized in respective languages?
- Haven't tried, but based on above WWE/Euro experience, I assume this.
Also, do I need a HardSPL to flash, or this is really *official* as in no hacks required?
- Just run the exe, follow instructions. BACKUP first. It will zap all data - sans memory card contents.

1 - Download latest SEX1 ROM in my language (Generic Italy R3AA007 Software Update)
2 - Dump it with Visual Kitchen
3 - Download a Kitchen of a working WM6.5 custom rom for SEX1
4 - Change OEM and EXT forlder in the kitchen with ones extracted from the R3AA007 orignal ROM.
4 - Replace all 0409 files and folders with 0410 (Italian code) taken from the R3AA007 original ROM.
5 - Cook!
Are these the right steps to translate a WM6.5.X ROM from WWE to Italian?

4 - You need to replace the language specific folders of wm6.5.x with language folder of the same branch (for build 23529 you can't use the 0410 language folders of your extracted ROM)

Is this valid even if I'm going to cook a WM 6.5 rom? It seems not so right according to Lokatho post....

Yes, this way you build your own kitchen without using someone else's.
If you extract an Italian R3A rom with visual kitchen you basically build a kitchen, but with wm6.1.
So if you want wm6.5 you need the wm6.5 build of your choice:
28205 - start button on bottom
23518 - start button on top
23529 - start button on bottom with threaded e-mail and office 2010
You can download the rollup from Da_G and use the files to add/replace the following folders in the visualkitchen:
- SYS\23529
- ROM\SHARED\23529
Rename the folder ROM\KOVSKY\19*** to 23529
Now you are ready to build a ROM...
In Da_G's thread are also alot tutorials on how the visualkitchen works and how to port a newer build version.

Well... We're waiting.

So..... I've followed Lokatho instructions and I can now build a WM6.1 succesfully. But no luck with a 6.5 one. I've changed all files as recommended by Lokatho but after that the kitchen has built a 201mb nbh file. I tried to flash it using FlashCard method and after flashing completes (about 10 minutes) I reboot it and it hangs on the first SonyEriccsson screen..... Just a thing I haven't understood is it necessary to port the XIP or it just should work only replacing files with a WM6.5 built? Should I port the XIP.bin file in the Da_G 28205 rollup using the XIP.BIN from WM6.1 rom?
Note I've used 28205 branch....

Just take the MSXIPKernel folder and the xip.bin file from the rollup and copy them to ROM\Shared\28205.
Rename the ROM\Kovsky\19608 to 28205.
Now you've ported the new XIP to your kitchen...
If the ROM hangs at the SE logo at boot there can be a couple of things wrong:
1 - SYS/OEM lang don't match
2 - problem with ported XIP
There are more, but don't recall them. Search and you will find...

I'm still fighting against Ervius Visual Kitchen!!!! I've cooked a lot of roms..... but no one works..... All stuck at boot screen.....

I've also tried the last build (23541) but no luck!!! My Kitchen is working becaus it's the X1 WWE 21874 and I can build that ROM..... and I can build Italian Wm 6.1 rom..... but I can't cook the Wm 6.5 italian one......
I followed all instructions..... I've tried and tried and tried again several times..... but results still the same: Stuck on the SonyEricsson logo.......
I'll give it up for today.... I think I'm going to take a couple of days of non-cooking.
If someone has something to advise me please feel free to post here!

It seems I've worked it out! In a few days I think I post the Italian rom!!
ITALIAN: Pare che sia venuto a capo dei problemi che avevo.... Tra qualche giorno avrò una rom Italiana funzionante (spero)!!!! Rimanete sintonizzati!!!

I think I'll cook build 23016... it seems the most stable at the moment.....
