Can anyone help me with the following situation:
I have a TD2 with the TF3D. Recently I installed the beta 5 version of Inesoft Phone 5.0 software.
It seems to be working everything ok, but I don’t like the Caller ID Skins that come with it, so I disable that program extension. The original one, that I think it’s from TF3D, is better.
My problem is that by disabling that option on Inesoft Phone, the Caller ID screen of TF3D doesn’t appear any more. When I receive an incoming caller it only appears that small balloon from WM6, with the picture and the name of the caller!
Does anyone know how can I restore Caller ID screen of TF3D?

In registry go to:
"HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin" and there:
key "Enabled" must be "1"
delete key "Ext"
delete key "PrevExt"
key "PrevEnabled" must be "0"

I did like you said but the problem persists: when someone calls me, it only appears that ugly (in my opinion) WM balloon! The original TF3D caller ID screen doesn’t appear any more!
Any other idea?

After Hard Reset, the registry for this was:
"HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin"

"PrevExt" doesn't exist
"PrevEnabled" doesn't exist
Had the same problem; also found that the TF3D Favourites couldn't be called. Anyway, I installed the following which is the same as the original dialer & for the past week it's worked fine -

Dear all,
In the Wizard I had a dialler which selected the contact from the last dialled list first. I could highlight that contact and select the persons mobile number, home number, etc. by using the right and left navigation buttons.
Does anyone know whether this dial-pad exists for the Kaiser?

I use the default WM6 dialer, which does this (and imo looks better than HTC's).
To do this you must set HKLM/Security/Phone/Skin/Enabled to 0 (i hope i got the right reg key, if not, let me know) and soft-reset

You mean camera-based-calls?
And yes, that's the dialler, even though I'd add the bigbutton skin (I think called eten?) to it...

Yeah, that's the dialler I meant! And now with the big buttons it would be perfect... Attached is what I used on the Wizard, but on the Kaiser it messes up the buttons. Anyone who knows how to convert/create a dialler for the Kaiser?

Yes, the default dialler works fine. And then, after installing the wm6 grey dialler it doesn't work anymore...too bad, I would have like to have a big-button dialler with the WM6 smart-dialling features...
i don't think you can have the default smartdialing AND a theme. i think you can have some other smart dialing with a theme, but not the default one

I'm make a small program, which change current SIP when stylus out of the case and in the case.
Just unzip, and run program. Run again, and you can stop background process.
Settings in registry:
key HKCU\Software\HtcExtFun
value StylusInSipName - string name of SIP when stylus in the case
value StylusOutSipName - string name of SIP when stylus out of the case

The real question was : what do you call SIP : is it any program ? Does it interfere with the "notes" opening during a call ?

It's the method of inputting text on a ppc, such as keyboard, transcriber etc...

Just change the registry keys to whatever SIPs you use. You probably don't even have a "Keyboard - VGAKEY" installed.
2ALL: Also be sure to input localized names for SIPs into reg keys (for non-WWE ROMs). Good luck!
Btw, it works just fine with SmartSIP...

Would be a nice addition, but I'd prefer it to be user-configurable (on/off), with a list of exceptions. So each time I'm about to rename a file it won't open Notes or whatever.

It only worked for me after a soft reset, and then starting the app once.

It worked after I add ZaJules's Reg file.
But I want to be able to switch between:
Compact QWERTY and Fitaly by textware.
I edited the reg location (in windows registry) from keyboard to fitaly
now removing/replacing stylus doesn't do anything...

when using the exidler....cab I got an error while starting up. It seems the application is missing a reference. When I start it manually I get an error about missing reference in registry.
I use original Rom 1.93GER
"videocall" soft key replaced with the "contacts" shortcut? (CAB.FIX)
New rom 1.93.707.1, replaced the "contacts" soft key with the "video call"...
Can this be fixed via registry change and replace the "videocall" soft key with the "contacts" shortcut?

Theres a couple of other posts around for this but I dont think anyone could find a fix for it. I for one find it a nuisance as well!

Start --> Contacts
I simply use Start Menu ---> Contacts instead.
Both take 2 clicks to get to contacts, hence we can't insist that one approach is better than the other.
Even in other phones (like my old Nokia N70) when you click on call button, it'll take you to list of dialled calls. Not to contacts. If you want to open contacts to make a call in N70, you'll have to click (ooops, press) the 'contacts' button on the home screen.
Here, the diamond takes u to recently dialled numbers when you click the phone link (or che call button). So it's the same.
+ it'll automatically list contacts after the end of dialled calls.
you can rotate your finger around central round button for scrolling.
Hence I should say this is indeed a feature, not a bug.
Anyone tried the reg fix, does it work?
It is not al reg-fix, it's a 3 Files-Fix
People are lazy, many downloads but only one report, a user in the german ppc-welt-forum reports it works fine with "mossis-rom" (a cooked german rom).
I self use the fix with the HTC 1.93-ROM and i found no problems so far.
But where is the risk? If there are any problems, delete the three files, softreset your diamond and everything will remain unaffected.

The fix works for me (German Xda Diamond pro).
You have to replace 3 ROM files because the soft-key is hard-coded in a dll.
You may have to stop cprog.exe (the phone) in a good task manager to remove the lock on the files.
I've just reflashed a stock 1.93 ROM to my phone and applied the three files contained in the .zip file and confirm that it works! No more Video Call softkey on the phone!
Now if someone can turn those files in to a cab that would be brilliant!

When I copy file "phcanhtc.dll" in Windows directory via ActiveSync "Access file denied" occures. Even with TotalCommander can I not change Read-Only-attribute. Any idea?

You could try this cab I made of the relevant changes. Remember to soft-reset afterwards.
EDITED ON 29/12/2008: NB this cab does not work if you are using the Slide to Answer/Ignore Phone Canvas (see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464286), as although it restores the Contacts softkey it disables the slide to answer functionality.

My question is two part, so here goes:
I'm running ManillaPlus Phone Dialer for my phone dialer skin, and just recently installed Resco Contact Manager (which I must say, to date is one of the best contact managers thus far. It's also free since it's in beta). In addition, I have S2U2 installed as my phone lock device. S2U2 gives an option to answer calls, which I've disabled, and the Resco CM has a pretty nice one as well (which i want to use), but is covered up by the default Kaiser's one. Also, for some reason, the manillaPlus distorts the caller ID box when receiving a call. My question is (after this long winded statement), how can I disable the default caller ID box that comes up when a call is received so all i see is Rescos caller ID box?
Does that make sense? Hopefully someone can help, or understands what I'm asking.
AFAIK the Resco app would be supposed to override the default caller ID box itself. Probably a bug of the beta... but I see the final version is now out so you might want to give it a try and see it it's fixed.

Thanks, I installed the new version, and while it covers up the default display, it still allows the WM6.1 display to show for 2 sec.
Still haven't figured out why the caller ID (WM 6.1) is all distorted when I get a call. Any ideas?
i am running the latest 6.5 21202 ROM and whenever i start writing someone name into the new sms to: field i get two different predictions- the bottom grey htc style prediction(eT9?) and a little white box predicition(xT9?) near the name- if i press enter the phone freezes up, and if i backspace at all the phone freezes.
is there any way to remove one of the two predictors?
disabling T9 only removes predictions in the body of the text message, even with installing Taiseer's xT9 disabler. also i have disabled T9 with advanced config and diamond tweak.
the problem is that when entering a name they both still appear- yes this is a very useful function, but only if one appears- now that both appear the phone freezes whenever i choose from one
I had this problem at first too...but for some reason after I soft reset the phone a few times the problem's gone. It's one of the weird 6.5 bugs...perhaps because the ezinput sip keyboard isn't made for 6.5 yet? not sure though..

i found the reg entries for HTC's bottom name predictor (eT9) and there was one referring to install directory i simply changed it from "/Windows" to "/" and now the program cannot load it. and now there is no more freezing and only one predictor the microsoft white box name prediction.
this is good, great in fact- however, it could be better
the HTC eT9 predictor is better because it takes one keypress instead of two, not a big deal, but if anyone has alot of spare time on there hands- finding a way to disable xT9 instead of eT9 would be much appreciated.

i have tried your cab and it "works" but will cause the compact qwerty to only display in #s and symbols :S
