Best way to do this... - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Hello all,
I was wondering, how do you all manage your phone...
For instance...
Do you install apps to you card or to memory?
Do you delete files such as unused sound files from your /windows dir to save space?
Anyone have other tips for how to better manage their phone in regards to how they install and configure it?
I know it sounds like a lame question, but I am curious?

Question on what the best way to clean up my memory?

Is there any programs that will help me clean up my MDA's system memory, and system storage? I am going through it manually right now but, some files I don't know about? What's the best way to approach this? I can't believe it is so full already? I have only 5 or so non-factory programs installed.
Try SKTools. I love it.

Moving HTML help files from \Windows to \Storage Card

Hi all,
Any steps necessary to move the HTM help files in the \Windows folder to my SD card, other than just moving them? Will I need to hack the registry?
Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks!

Which help files are ya looking to move?
Pretty much all *.htm files that are not in ROM and have application names. Around 500KB worth.

I see. I'm pretty sure that individual apps would be hard coded to look somewhere specific for the related help files, or each app may have the location specified in the registry - which would make for some tedious editing.
You could try installing the apps to your storage card and see if the help files are also installed there. I have seen apps though that despite being installed on a storage card insist on putting config and other files into device storage.
Thanks for your replies! I'll move them, and if any apps complain, then I'll put 'em back on a case-by-case basis. Do you know of any other files that could be safely moved to SD to free some precious space on main storage?
Off topic, are you planning to enhance the new Cingular ROM once they get their act together and release a non-corrupted file?

It depends on what they release. If it really is going to be the 2.25 release that leaked a few weeks back, then I plan to stay as far away from it as I can.
However, I am working in tightening up an AKU 2.3 ROM for Cingular users. I'll be testing out an AKU 2.5 ROM this week as well.

Insufficent memory and JVLite2Demo?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone know what else I can delete safely in WM5 to save some memory cause I'm really running low on the main one,
I already did move PIE cache and temp files to storage and profile and documents etc.
I notice JVLite2Demo folder was in Aka 3.3 V2 Faria and Co. I was wondering if that folder contents is needed if not I want to delete it but wanted to know if it's safe and does it effect or programs or windows mobile.
Thanxs. for reading this post and responsing. Awesome forum.

Installed Programs

Hello everyone, I just wanted to know if there is a way to find out what programs are installed in the device's main memory and which ones are installed on the memory card. I am running out of device memory and would like to uninstall some programs but I need to know where they are first in order to see if I need to keep them where they are or not. Thanks

Whats the best / easiest way to delete main apps from Aria's memory?

My Aria's memory is running low. I have used App to SD card to move all movable apps there, but it wont let me move a lot of the original ones. Whats the easiest / best way to do this?

Search Removing bloatware in the aria forums and you'll find a whole thread on the process.

You can put TI Backup into "Chuck Norris" mode and you ***may*** be able to remove some of the system apps. If you are rooted and running custom ROM you can unzip the ROM on your PC, delete the stuff you don't want, then re-zip and re-flash. Voila, unwanted apps gone.
In both cases you need to know what you are doing. Certain apps cannot be removed, others are needed by some third-party stuff. Unless you brick your phone in the process it is pretty easy to experiment.
