Running programmes button - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I recently updated the ROM and Radio on my Diamond. Much better battery life fwiw so glad I did it
One thing I have noticed is that the running programmes 'button' (i.e. the arrown/drop down menu at the very top right of the Today screen) has disappeared. I say disappeared but it appears briefly as the phone is booting up after a soft reset but then disappears again as it finishes. Anyone got any ideas what might be happening and more importantly how I can get it to stay visible
Thanks in advance

Crashing when opening start menu

Hey I need help. I played with a few settings in PocketToolman and after the soft reset I can't get into my start menu. Everytime I do the screen, majority fo the left side of the screen (the area where the menu would take up) goes black and I pretty much lose all functionality on the phone. The only thing i can do is press Power and go to standby but that's about it.
Anyone have this problem before?! I just got the phoen too so I don't know my way around it that well yet. It's been loaded with wm6.1.

Phone reboots when screen slid

So the phone (htc kaiser) is acting up. when the screen is slid and or tilted and then closed it sometimes shuts itself down. it just did it now while connected to the computer, then went into a reboot loop of going black, vibrating, showing the att splash screen, then going black, vibrating, showing the att splash screen in a loop about 6-8 times till i hit the soft reset button on the bottom.
whats been done to the phone:
updated to WM6.1
installed google maps
restored contacts which we backed up before update using sprite
installed slow ie scroll fix
installed kaiser tweak
installed youtube player (tubeplayer or something)
installed tmpc (tpmc?) (doesnt work for some reason)
i've checked all the power settings i could find, it should not be turning itself off automatically in any way. phone has NOT been dropped at all or handled rough.
suggestions? hardware or software problem? shes blaming me for this issue because i'm the one who updated her to 6.1 I don't think theyre related.
more information
only happens with the phone is running on its battery.
internal harware problem?

Problem with phone on standby

So I Wiped Then Flashed from CyangenMod 3.6.8.1 to 3.9.7 And went fast and smooth boot slow but expected due to flash .... apps still fully functioned except for power manager full it was force closed at start so uninstalled app and re-installed app ran perfectly fine..... all other process that I had done seem to be working flawlessly ....my main issue as of this moment is something I havent seen before....its when my phone is on standby at this point if my phone is closed and I hit home or menu my screen does not turn on but I can here my selections and my buttons light up so I have to slide my phone open then place it back into standby using power button to then hit home or menu so that my screen turns on .... this is the same to turn on phone if its closed screen is just a black light screen so it must be slid open to see anything on the screen such as the T-mobile G1 bootloader etc.......
anyone know what maybe the problem here?
I can provide a device log to anyone that maybe able to assit me
bump so no one has anyclue as to away to attempt to fix this issue? The problem is that the screen only comes on if I slide the phone open but when slid closed hiting menu or home the display does not come on but you can tell that the phone thinks its on due to the fact and can here my desktop shortcuts click as if I was switching from 1 to another ......... anyone?

N1: Screen issues (Stops working)

Hello,
I was wondering if there is some way to track what is happening on my phone? Since my screen stops working when waked up from standby. i.e. if i press the button at the top to standby and then when i press it again and reach the lock screen the touchscreen is not working, it is simply not registering touch and neither are the 4 small buttons on the bottom (back, settings, home, search). However, the OS in itself is still running as I think since I can still see the time move and if I hold the off button the menu comes up for reboot etc.
Anyone heard of anything like this or any tips how to solve this? I am rooted and running CM6 I think at the moment.
Thank you,
Svarto

so the only way to escape this is by pulling the battery and rebooting? when you do reboot and dont go in standby, the touchscreen works fine?
You can check the issue using logcat and /proc/kmsg.
Also, you can read my threads on the subject, describing the same error with logs, and see if your logs are the same.
I'm currently trying to check if the error repeats itself after full wipe and starting from scratch. In the meantime it didn't show up until I applied a theme, and then after reflashing the ROM it's gone again - I'm still checking, only a day has passed.
Yes, the only solution is to pull out the battery and reboot. Then it works fine and I can go in and out of standby. I havent found a particular pattern to it happening so it is hard to reproduce.
I will have a look at that logcat and your other thread!
Just to guide you - when it happens to me, the phone gets stuck with mmc0 access that receives "CRC error" reply and doesn't go through. Pressing power button for a long time several times and playing with trackball / touching the screen between presses "releases" the "lock", and you'll be able to work with the phone again until you put it to sleep again. If you turn WiFi and BT off and then back on - the problem seems to disappear.

[Q] Touchscreen issues

Hello everybody,
I was doing a lot of research on this issue and was using the search function of course, however I was not able to find a fix to the problem I am experiencing.
I have a Samsung at&t captivate with cyanogenmod 10.0 installed.
The problem:
Lately I experienced strange touchscreen problems, where it seemed that my phone did what it wants to do. Opening google maps zooming in and out, opening other apps and it even called a friend one time. All that did not seem to follow any pattern, it was more like someone randomly touched on my screen.
What I tried:
After doing some research, I booted to recovery and deleted the cache and dalvik cache. After I rebootet the phone everything seemed alright, except for when writing a message, some keys "p" and "?" where not working.
So I rebootet to recovery again and did a factory reset, and installed cyanogenmod 10.0 again. Everything seemed alright at the beginning, but when I clicked my way through the welcome process, I noticed that the "p" key does not work again, all the other keys though, especially the ones in the bottom right corner, work just fine.
And here comes the problem: On the next screen "Google & location", I can not press the ">" button to proceed in the bottom right corner!
Do you think it is a hardware problem? What is against this is, that the same spot where the ">" button appears, works fine on the other screen, when I enter my Email adress.
Every kind of help is very much appreciated!! Thank you all in advance!
Best,
Moritz

I'm thinking you might have to go back to Stock KK4 and start fresh. If that doesn't work, it's most likely a hardware issue (humidity perhaps). If it comes down to that, take apart the phone and put it in a bag of rice for a couple days. Now if that doesn't fix it, you might have to get a new screen
I'd add bad screen protector to the humidity/hardware list. the key is that it keeps recurring in the same place on the screen. if you rotate the keyboard 90 degrees, does the p key work?
