auto install Rom withe exe-file - Touch 3G ROM Development

Is it possible that someone creates a exe file for a new rom install like the official rom install has? I tried to get it done with hardspl but i only got errors en install didn't work. Guess it's not my cup of tea. If someone could make this i would be verry greatfull. Rom should be light.

if you don't flash HSPL on your phone, you can't also flash the modifided rom with a .exe file. The .exe file is only compressed. the whole flashing is also going by the original HTC rom with ruu

The flashing process is no harder than running an exe once Hard SPL is flashed.
Take your time to go through this tutorial and it should all come together : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514406
Any further problems post there.

well since ull be flashing an original rom uspl will not be needed..
you can actually download the official ROM from HTC website (at least in Asia, not sure about Europe). In fact, from HTC website, they have telco-specific ROM (such as Starhub and Telstra).
I have done it before, downgrading dutty 3.7 ROM to stock/official using the official ROM update package, and it'll revert back my SPL to 1.12 as well. But I was on SPL/USPL, so I'm not sure with your hard SPL, would your base be downgraded as well, but my guess is it should.

thanks
i'm using USPL too
Sorry to sound a dumb ass, but i want to make sure i get this right, cant find much on down grading just upgrading
i've downloaded this file
RUU_BlackStone_Orange_UK_1.19.61.1.rar
and it extracts as
ruu_signed.nbh
can i just use this file from dutties rom
BlackstoneRUUWrapper.exe
and put the .nbh file in the same folder?
the only method i know how to flash is as below
1. put phone into bootloader mode
2. run blac_uspl.exe (for 1.56 roms)
3. wait for the cmd prompt to establish a connection
4. run BlackstoneRUUWrapper.exe which had the dutties rom in same folder
based on that info, do i do that same thing to downgrade?
if someone could let me know which steps i need to follow/mis out that would be great thanks

Since you have Dutty's 3.7 on your device at the moment and you are going to restore the stock Orange rom you need to restore the stock SPL that came on your phone before you flash the rom. Otherwise you will be running a newer SPL that is not supported with the older Orange rom and will have distortion and compatibility issues.
To restore your phone to stock you need to:
1. Flash original SPL - most likely 1.14.0000 since the rom versions for Orange are 1.14.xxxx and 1.19.xxxx.
2. Flash original rom.
If you need help restoring the original SPL look in the HSPL thread where it says "How to reflash Stock/Shipped SPL - STEP BY STEP - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!"
If you still can't figure it out after that, let me know.
also take note of youre sending it back due to faults they wont checkit they just send you another and replace the motherboard
i knoiw because i asked what they didwenthey gotr the broken ones back

[Q] How to Grab ROM from SEUS while updating the phone??

Hi Guys,
Seeking some help here, cause it must be easy. Surely there must be a way to dump the Stock ROM from the phone? (NOT backup)
I want to either:
- dump the stock ROM (i.e. not backup the ROM or such, just simply dump the stock from the hidden partition), or
- grab a ROM while it is being flashed by SEUS to the X1 (so i can make some updates and then flash that ).
I know I can use Pavel's ROMS here, but the one being flashed to my phone is 161MB, while the same one on Pavel's is 212MB. http://blog.fastgsm.com/sonyericsson/r3a-software-for-sony-ericsson-xperia-x1/
When the phone is being updated, there is a file copied to Program Files\SEUS\db\.. which is the same size as stated in SEUS (161MB), but this has no extension, and all the extensions I've tried (nbh (using kitchen tools tells me it's not valid), zip, rar) don't work. Maybe there's something there??
The tutorials and stickys, while excellent, either require a downloaded ROM already (backing up the ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462926) or don't quite cover what I need.
The question is how??
- SEUS version 2.9.6.12
Cheers...
I am looking for the same thing m8, i want to extract the new SPL 0.78 out of the update. But can't get in the file that's downloaded by seus . Maybe it's downloaded as binary data or encrypted in some kind of way

Noob trying to flash ROMs

Hi all,
I'm new to this kind of operation, so I'm just wondering if the following sequence is correct or not.
1. Flash the HardSPL
2. Flash the ROM (I'm looking into the WCX Rhodium TILT 2 ROM)
3. Flash the Radio.
4. Run Task 29
Am I done? Do I need to download the hotfixes from HTC's website? I'm going to get the Tilt 2 from AT&T.
Thanks a lot!

I dont know exactly what is task 29, but when I was flashing my TP2, then I did this steps
1. sync my phone with windows in windows wia USB
2. start HardSPL auto mode (this have to be done only once, if you never made a flash before).
3. reboot TP2
3. run custom ROM
4. reboot phone
5. do a hard reset (recommended but not necessary)
remember that flashing your phone will erase all your data on it !!!!
this was all and everything works fine
If I can recommend than try energy ROM with Sense 2,5, it seems to be reall fast and stable ..
http ://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562773
Task 29 is actually sticky on the top of this board
Task29 formats the memory of your phone. If you want to use it you have to do it BEFORE installing the new ROM. It is not recomended if you are changing from Stock to Custom ROM, more likely if you flash different Custom ROMs.
Ahh, thanks!
What about the 2 hotfix from HTC, do I need to install them after the flash of the custom ROM?

ok, so as I understand, task29 have to be started after HardSPL and before ROM flash to clean ROM memory.
I didn't used it and I don't see any bugs or something like this
about hotfixes
I thing its not necessary custom ROMs have in most cases everything well-tuned
you will see
Wonderful, I think that's all I can think of right now! Thanks for all your help!
I take the POST to ask something else...
The suggested order for the flashing of a Rhodium is:
HardSPL
Task29
Flash ROM (Recommended Hard Reset after flashing)
Flash Radio
The process is right?
I can download the next update of the site of HTC Mobile Phone
Support
(http://member.america.htc.com/download/RomCode/HTC_Tilt2_ATT/HTCTilt2ATTOriginalShipROM.exe) and install it before HardSPL?
Or I can install HardSPL before an official update from HTC?

You can still install official ROMs (e.g. from HTC or your carrier), even if you've got HardSPL, yes.
As for the first bit above though, whether you can install an official ROM without HardSPL depends on your phone/ROM combination. If that ROM is an official ROM designed specifically for your model/branding/carrier of phone, then you don't need HardSPL. e.g. I have a Vodafone-branded TP2, so without HardSPL I would be able to install official Vodafone ROMs, but I would *not* be able to install an official HTC ROM (because my phone isn't just a plain HTC-branded TP2).

Help is greatly appreciated...
Another little question?
Is there any problem if flashing first the Radio (4.49.25.77) and then the ROM (WWE | Rhodium | Energy | May 28 | 21905).
THANKS.

Cannot upgrade VIVA

Today is the day, when i was ready to take the plunge into updating my rom to Evaluation 2. I wanted to upgrade my stock rom and see how my HTC would be like.
Now after some research, i found the installation package specifically for VIVA and instruction were quite simple. i.e. copy paste the .nbh file into the installation package folder and click on the update utility. (I downloaded the installation package 7. zip for this )
Well i thought it would be as simple as people have wrote but things didn't go out as planned. As soon as i did the above process and clicked the update utility. My phone started to go into the bootloader mode i could see the progress bar till 3% update... Than suddenly the phone LCD would switch off and the update utility informed me the the rom is corrupted... I thought i might have had the bad rom.. Let me download some thing else.. I downloaded 6.5 Rom from other source still the same issue.. Rom corrupted...
Am i doing something wrong.. Please help.
Did you install Hard-SPL? This little software unlocks your device to install custom ROMs.
Find more info, and download instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446446
After you install this, try to install your ROM and it should work well.
Good luck..

Task 29 does not install stock spl by itself
don't start flashing roms until you've read and fully understood all guides...?!
SE update doesn't work with hard-spl installed - which you still have. task29 doesn't change that.
you need to download your stockrom from here and flash it via usb or microsd.
after that's done, you can decide if you want to keep hard-spl or if you want to restore stock-spl, which is needed to use SEUS. (but since you already have stockrom, why bother?)
how to restore stock-spl is explained in the hard-spl thread, end of post #1. follow the instructions there closely, or you will brick your phone! flashing spl requires a special .exe, don't use the one from task29, a custom-rom or whatever!
