Hi,
I have been reading post of people that installed an iphone skin on their windows moible devices. But I did not find anything on the treo 750.
Does any one have any information on how to go about turning the treo 750 in to the skin of the iphone?
I dont want to do anything I can change back. and I'm sure if I dont ask about it I will really mess up my phone.

WM5 for Alpine might be along soon...

http://www.smartphone-web.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=873
This is the whole iTunes on WM5 through T-Mobile rumour, but that's an Alpine on the full pice, not an MDAIII as I had previously read.
Could T-Mob be shipping this soon with WM5 on it?
Orange are supposed to be launching the Alpine too, but it's launch was delayed until after the Universal, maybe that too will be WM5?
Looks promising!
We'll wait and see, so many rumours and not the real thing yet, be glad when its finally released
Ahh, I just realised that's only an MDA2 in the photo.
I thought the MDA2 was all silver like the XDA2 and the others, and the black panel ones were like the i-mate 2020i.
Bugger.
Probably a load of crap after all then.
when it gonna be released ? too long waiting....but its ok if got any news about WM5 for Alpine
itunes for PPC was discovered to be 100% fake.
so dudes any ideas for XDA O2IIi to transform into WM5? install files cabs ans ****s? i read for himalaya or whatever they call but nothing for XDA o2IIi
There is no WM5 for xda2i

no wm5 for xda2i YET!!!
Dudes, let's wait. WM5 is too poor now. Why updating? There are too many software, that does not run, no localizations for different languages.
Soon we will have this update, but now it is useless.
I have used WM5 on my old XDA2, it's far from useless if you're English speaking, it's way more stable than 2003se, and there are alternatives to most apps that will not run properly yet.
It's worth it in my, and many other's opinion.
Shame nobody will release it on the Alpine though

Windows Mobile 5 and Alpine -Should WM5 be on the Alpine?POL

Hi guys and gals.
Great forum and I will be coming back every hour, helps everyone trmeendously well.
Anyway I have an xda 2i which i bought last month and is going great. Got tomtom 5 on it and syncs it with my outlook. Nothing could go wrong...
and it hasn't but looking at the new WINDOWS MOBILE 5 it looks os much more modern and I was looking to upgrade.
I have looked at the other posts and people have been talking about there is no upgrade. I wonder as there is the himalaya and it runs bascially on the same system doesn't it?
but here is an ebay auction that sells it for xda2i so is it true or ont?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Windows-Mobil...864660131QQcategoryZ38331QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
p.s they have changed the ebay autions now so that they don't say xda2i but they sued to.
Are there not loads of problems with TomTom 5 and WM5?

Of course everyone want the latest on their device but as Alpine device not too famous enough and still much more need to be discover. IF there's anyone selling upgrade for XDA IIi on ebay, he wont be anyone except from here also. As I know, the GOD of WM5 is buzz...... he can be damn rich if selling like that on ebay but he dont want.
If we dreaming to having WM5 on our device without any action, we wont stop dreaming. How about making donation so that we can buy an Alpine device for buzz...........
any suggestion???? any protest???
ok
thanks for your replys but being a noob here, the alpine and the himalaya are nearly the same except some of the specs.
Can't we use a himalaya WM5 upgradero n an Alpine?
Has anybody tried this?
I was going to but I wanted to check with you guys first.
no no no! it wont work! Himalaya WM5 wont work on Alpine.
u seem quite sure, did u try it and it broke ur alpine?

The devices may look the same but that's where the similarities end.
Hardware wise they are totally different and therefore completely incompatible. Until someone creates a rom editor and has the knowledge to mix the base OS with the drivers from 2003se, or even create new ones, cooked versions won't be available.
The suppliers won't release an update because, like Clustered said, not enough people use the Alpine to justify the huge financial outlay. It's all about profit.
Even if customers pay for an update, the cost would be greater than buying an OS for a PC because of the relatively few people who would upgrade. It would take about 10 minutes for pirated copies to end up on the internet as well, putting an even bigger dent in profits.
I think it should happen but unfortunately, it won't.

dopod blue angel

Ok I will attempt to sound somewhat intelligent with this......
i purchased an xda IIs from ebay, dopod is the comm company, comes with WM2003wwe version 1.40 has all the good stuff and Blackberry connect.
I have a Blackberry from T-Mobile USA and I want to use the sim card in my xda and get the Blackberry service working on it as well.
Thats the problem, don't know how to change the APN settings.
Would also like to upgrade the device to WM5 but it looks like there are no Blackberry enterprise programs that work on WM5???
Educate me please....
Thanks for the time so far and these forums are really helpfull, will be putting some donations in the cup later...
Oh yes I forgot, if any of you already have a package set up to get this rolling??????
might be a good idea the package thing eh?

Is WM2005 possible for Alpine?

I understand it seems n00bish, but..
I found no reference on the forum about upgrade of any Alpine device from 2003SE to 2005. Does it realy matter there is no hope with trying find such an upgrage? I have an Qtek 2020i (model PH10C, 2003SE, ROM 1.11.00WWE). Can I find a WM2005 ROM existing, which is situable for my device?
Thanx
There's no exsisting WM5 for the HTC Alpine like the XDA 2i or the Qtek 2020i and there's nobody who can AND want to port a WM5 for our little machines!
Oh, by the wy: WM6 is also not possible like the WM5 story!
I see lot of people use Alpine. but who can explain me why Alpine can't have Win 05? about hardware?driver?
I think the hardware is good enough (like HTC Universal) but no one of the cracks about ROM coding like Buzz continued the development of WM5 for the Alpine!
:'-(
Even porting to Linux must disable the wifi also.
Hi,
Is this thread to talk about possible?
If you keep reading at Sticky thread under Alpine upgrading about Windows Mobile 5 on XDA IIi it's possible for Alpine to run WM2005 but no one would like to donation device to buzz.
Read at thread Windows Mobile 5 on XDA IIi page 5 #42, buzz had told that he dont have Alpine device. If he got it at that time, Im sure he'll try the best he can.
At the same thread page 6 #59, Daz999 talk about donate to buzzdev and make buzz goes down. If anyone at buzz situation sure feel down because the way Daz999 talk about it. Daz999 dont know what donation means. From that time, buzz seem like not interest about Alpine anymore.
And now with many kind of device released and about WM6 too, everyone sure busy chasing technologies......
Thanks
I sold off my Xda2i already..

Promising....
Steve
You dont visit the forums much, do you? The date on that article is Feb. 12th..
So does anyone have an idea when it is coming (rumors, etc)? The TyTN guys are up and running on WM6, I'm getting jealous here.

It is expected to be released to existing customers and pre-loaded on new devices in July/August 2007. Because Palm have made so many adjustments to make WM5 work better on the Treo, they will have to do that again and it will take some time to fully test.

Since WM6 is not very different from WM5, I think it shouldn't take long.

I would assume the same thing, but they wont release it so quickly after releasing the unlocked Treo. Plus, after speaking with reps from Palm there is still a lot of confusion amongst them all about when it will happen.
Palm Australia does not know ****
DO not expect a Palm WM6 upgrade for current Treo 750's at all
I promise you it will not happen.

I didnt mention Palm Australia. I have spoken with Pal Australia, Singapore and UK and have got a maybe from Australia and a Yes from Singapore and UK, infact Singapore has officially confirmed it in an interview with cnet interview (asia.cnet.com)
Existing Palm user WILL get an upgrade to their Treo 750/750v.
Hi. Where?
Can you post a link to the article where cnet asia reported that Palm said existing 750 owners would be upgraded to WM6?
Let's be clear: we know 750s will eventually be sold w/ WM6 loaded. I have not seen anywhere (pending cnet asia post notwithstanding) that says that existing 750s w/ WM5 will have an option to upgrade to WM6.
Any documentation would be interesting.
Thanks.
RJH2
Even (!) if there would be no official upgrade, current users can install the firmware from "new" Treos with WM6.

Here is the other article i read on the subject. http://apcmag.com/5377/palm_treo_750_has_an_upgrade_up_its_sleeve i cannot find the asia Cnet one at the moment.
Palm will offer both a new Treo 750 with WM6 on it and an upgrade, i would assume for marketing purposes that they will release the Treo pre-loaded with WM6 first and then release an update to existing customers within the weeks after that. Either way, I'm sure someone smart will upload the rom for everyone
Thanks, that article is certainly encouraging. Hope to see it soon.

It is out (WM6+HS) and am testing it. I'll give you update later
Where'd you get it? If you're 'testing' it, then it's not really out. What's HS?
What??? I sense sarcasm
