Hi all,
Suddenly one day, my camera "searching window" (the whole screen) was black, both in photo and video mode (otherwise everything is normal). The camera captures both photo and video like normal, but the screen is all black, so it's very difficult to take good pictures. Everything is normal when I select camera on the taskbar, but when I tap the photo or video icon on the right the screen goes all black. I have no idea why this has happened. I had not done any change to any software for several months, and everything worked perfectly until then.
A soft reset did not change anything. I have previously had an analog clock and a Windows Beta 7 theme installed (used TF3D Config Tool and Total Commander), but they are uninstalled and caused no problems. The camera also worked normally with the Beta theme installed for many months. I uninstalled the Beta theme with TF3D Config Tool (restore default) because of this problem, but now my phone just has the standard menus again, and the camera problem is still there...
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-Daniel
Happened to my Fuze. Ended up reloading ROM (Dr. G's Clean).
Haven't had that issue again.

Hi,
I'm trying to put a background image of a car on my today screen.
When i put it on its far to close (pic to big). With my old M3100 you could chose how much and where abouts of the jpeg you wanted as background is there anyway to do this on the kaiser?
I've tried changing the resoultion then it works in wide screen but tiles it in normal mode which looks naff.
Any help would be appricaited.
Thanks
Jason
Go to Start | Programs | Pictures & Videos - then find your image you want to use as the background; select Menu | Set as Today Background and you'll get a window showing what part of the image will be used on the today screen - use your stylus to drag the rectangle left or right to suit and then just OK your way back out.....
HTH,
Mark.
Thanks, but even if i do that it still tiles or i can only see a small amount of the car.
I have tried numorous resoultions on the jpeg then put it on my phone but still no joy.
rangeing from 200x200 to 1024x768
Any one had this issue before and solved it?
Strange....it seems to work for me as long as the image is not stupid-sized (like 1600x1200 off my digital camera ).....
The screen resolution is 240x320 so that should be fine as an image; you may want a 320x320 image so that it works for landscape too, although I think you have to keep the part of the image you want to the left of the 320 pixel width....
Of course, you could always use something like ThemGenCE to make yourself a theme with the picture(s) you want - that should work....your call
HTH,
Mark.
Hi everyone.
I searched for a similar problem in the forum and could not find it so, I decided to try this way.
I have a Touch Diamond for a month now. I noticed that after taking a photo with 3MP resolution, the camera hangs. I have to do a soft reset in order to access the camera again.
Another thing that happens is that the photos taken in all modes are green (except the ones with "L" resolution).
Does anyone have a similar problem?
The only advanced thing I did was to activate a few extra photo modes using advanced config.
Thanks a lot
JohnT
Just another hint...
Just another bit of info.
the photos are green on the touchFlo interface, not on the album. In the album they seem to be ok.
Thanks

Correction:
The photos less than 3MP seem to be ok when seen on the thumbnail album interface. However, when seen on full screen all pixels are green an pink. If you see them on the PC, it's the same...green and pink weird.
If I have the courage, I'm thinking of doing a hard reset this weekend, just to be sure it is not an hardware problem.
Any inputs?
Thanks
I had the same problem until I discovered that the cause was a setting in my AdvancedConfig. I don't know i f you have installed that program. But the greens screens are due to the G sensor. It's a particular setting in the camera node that you have to change. It's something like turn photo with G sensor.
I hope it has solved your problem
Fixed! At least for a Touch Pro
I had the exact same problem with the green and plaid color pattern in thumbnails and the actual picture on my phone.
I have the Advanced Config 3.x program and I found out that I had to: Encode photos in portrait mode under the Camera options needs to be set to NO.
Works fine after that!
I have, in the past, installed various utilities to make my screen rotate automatically, but none of them worked as great as I wanted them to work (nothing managed to enable BubbleBreaker to run in Landscape mode, the Manila never rotated properly, etc.) so I ended up deleting them and putting newer ones and they didnt do what I wanted either.
recently my sms and browsers stopped rotating too and sometimes when i manage to make them rotate, they wont go back to the original (portrait mode) and everything just messes up.
I know that I can hard reset my phone and revert back to the original settings, but then I've got loads of apps installed and stuff customized the way I like.
I was wondering if they is any thing I can do to revert all the settings (for the screen rotation) back to the original values without losing any information, apps, other stuff I have on my phone.
Thanks
P.S. please provide a list (if possible links) of the apps I will need to use too.
P.P.S if possible I would like to know how to set other things too, like how to change the position of the start menu to make them come on the bottom bar instead of on top, how to use manila in landscape mode, how to keep the music player on while I turn on the camera (I could do this on my BlueAngel)
Here's what I would do;
Install TD2 Tools which has a rotation manager.
Then install Topaz Keyboard Controller and map one of your hardware keys to rotate your screen.
To get bottom bar start menu would require flashing a custom ROM as WM 6.5.x is not available stock on Topaz but has been ported from other devices.
Music palyer while camera is on seems would be a memory resource issue.
thanks
but im still curious about the cam and the media player
since you could do it with older slower devices running WM2003 but now the new ones which are supposed to be faster (more mem) won't allow you

As devices have improved, so have the cameras, but they have always been resource hogs.
I've recently updated to Froyo on my I9000.
T-Mobile finally managed to get the firmware out
I installed it and it ruined my Messaging app, so I factory resetted.
Now, when I open the Messaging app, it works almost perfectly except that the colours are behaving in a bizarre way.
When I receive a new text message and I am in the messaging app (with the screen unlocked when it happens) it will be yellow as it should be.
If I exit the Messaging app and go back in, or click on a message and then return to the conversation screen, all received messages turn a strange green colour and the corners 'break'.
Here's a screenshot to demonstrate the effect: finalboss.org/img/weird-20101209-141115.png (Can't post URLs as a new user )
The green side looks almost as if the contrast has been jacked way up but, when I started editing the screenshots together, I noticed that the image on the right has dithered gradients and the image on the left does not - almost as if some sort of image compression is being applied to the graphics.
The dithering is definitely happening in the messaging app and not being applied when I take/edit the screenshots.
If the images are having some sort of compression applied to them while they are being used in the Messaging app it could account for the yellow turning green (colour palettes and such).
I really have no idea how or why this is happening so I thought I'd post here.
If anyone else has heard of or experienced this I would appreciate the help
Hello, I was wondering whether anyone else has this problem? It seems that whichever way I take photos from the Camera, the resulting photos will be landscape even if I took it in portrait mode. I really don't like having to rotate every single portrait photo that I've taken. For example, I always have to rotate a portrait pic before uploading it on Twitter, otherwise it'll be sideways. Very troublesome.
I've googled the problem, searched throughout xdadev but no one seems to have this kind of problem. What's more annoying - the resulting photos show up correctly in the gallery, but when I transfer it to my laptop, the pics remain sideways. Very strange as my old Desire HD always auto-rotate a pic taken in portrait mode.
Cheers guys!

JACK HI, I believe there is a sort of problem(setting?) That causes that behaviour
Cause I can take pics in all the way and they are shown in the same way...landscape - landscape and portrait - portrait. With every rome I had!
If u don't find a solution rotate them manually ...which anyway is annoying !

Thanks for replying, simika! Unfortunately I've dug everywhere and there is no menu in the Settings that could solve my problem. It really is annoying having to manually rotate them because I love taking pictures in Portrait mode!
3rd party apps also won't autorotate image results. So annoyed.
I have the same problem. Looks all ok on the phone itself, but after transfer, they are all in landscape. I don't have that with my other 2 cameras and iphone.
I noticed that on one of my cameras, there are two settings, one to "rotate in camera only", and one to "rotate in camera and PC".
Looks like Note performs option 1, even though I have not found any setting at all in Note.

Sorry to bump an older thread, but I've just discovered this same problem for my phone. Was this ever resolved? When I take snapshots, it's usually in portrait mode. Well I noticed something. While everything looks fine on the phone in the gallery, when sending people pictures, they sometimes (not all the time) get them in landscape. I also noticed that when uploading pictures to twitter, or facebook, pictures will be landscape, always rotated 90 degrees to the right. So in stead of "I" , I get "_" .
Then I noticed something, when entering the camera app, the status bar automatically appears on the right side of the phone, as if it's assuming that I rotated my phone to the left, meaning the right side of the phone is now the 'top.' Then when I hit the home button, I see my main screen rotate back to normal. I've tried turning screen rotation on and off, restarting my phone, powering down completely, removing the battery, and even turning off "auto rotate screen" in the accessibility options. I'm currently rooted and using a slightly modified official AT&T ICS ROM.
