Just use the attached CAB, and it will switch on the Networking facility, and give you the ability to map drives. You can then use the mapped drives in any file explorer you like, whether that's the one supplied with WM, or a 3rd party one.
Cheers,
Steve.

I have already search this site/ it doesn't give me solution for what i need to do, or i haven't understood what it really says. so please bear and help me if possible.
Situation is -
Two desktop PC
One Kaiser
PC-1 is connected to Dial-up Internet
Wifi Router (D-link) attached to PC-1 for Kaiser's Internet access
I need to use My wifi transmitted Internet signal in to Desktop PC 2 (I don't want to install additional Wifi Lan card in PC-2)
I want to use kaiser's Wifi + Activesync to use the internet on PC-2
Is it possible ???
Thanks
1) Activesync internet passthrough only works the other way
2) If you are prepared to do a reg hack, then you can share your internet connection using ICS from your device to your pc (as it only works via BT or USB normally).
BUT you will need to undo the hack whenever you want to use it any other way...
3) It would be a hell of a lot simpler to buy a USB wifi dongle for second pc though...
Thanks
Thanks for info
These might help you.

Hi, I've used the search feature but I cant find an answer.
What i would like to do is connect my laptop to a wireless network using my kaisers wireless capabilities. Is this possible? Any help with this would be greatly recieved.
Sounds unnecessarily messy - why not just get a useb/pcmcia wireless adpater for the lappy?

He may be using an old laptop or wants to experiment??
Search in the forum for WMWifirouter and make sure you read them all as there are aspects of heat from third party batteries to take into consideration.
EDIT: Here to save you time. Read the link thread also if you are not using a stock battery..

Thanks for the reply Farsquidge.
I was thinking, if my Kaiser is connected to a wireless network with Internet access, and my laptop is connected to my Kaiser will my laptop be able to access the Internet? Will i need 3rd party software to enable this?
From what i understand the Internet Sharing application in Comm Manager uses my mobile data plan, not any connected wireless networks. Am i correct in saying this?

Ahh, Yes you are. I got the wrong end of the stick...
No sorry, there is not any package out there to do this. It would not really be of much use as WiFi USB dongles are so cheap nowadays.
Soz.
I have LAN cable connection on my laptop. It has wifi and bluetooth module. Is there any way to get an internet connection on my Nexus by using them? My laptop runs Vista.
Thx
if i understand correctly, you want to share the internet on your laptop with your nexus.
You need to configure your wifi on the laptop as accesspoint and connect the nexus with it.
Google internet sharing wifi
you can just turn on network sharing on your laptop... google is your friend here if you need specifics.
Is there any way to do this without a Wireless network card? Since I'm on the other side of the house and get intermittent signal with my N1's wifi. Can it be done using the USB cable? aka reverse tethering?
I don't think android supports this "reverse tethering". Actually I think only WinMo phones support it via Activsync, which is automatic as soon as you plug in your USB.

Is there a way set up a non-ad hoc network on the laptop because the N1 is not compatible with ad hoc networks?
Although you can set up a software AP on your laptop, consider buying a WiFi access point. That way your laptop won't have to be plugged in either And its way easier to setup.
If you are using Windows 7 on your laptop, you can use Connectify (url is connectify.me) to convert your laptop into a wifi hotspot, which you can then connect your N1 to (via wifi)

What about for windows XP? is there an application similar to conectify.
Also just to let you guys know stock android does not let you connect to ad-hoc network sharing like some mentioned earlier. The devices does not see ad-hoc networks.
There is a issue request here about it.

...I'm more comfortable with xp so I'm doomed not to be able to set up an AP with my laptop...
I've been all over this connection and sharing internet connetion thing these days, and today it seems so close to work:
I paired my N7 and laptop on bluetooth, laptop with IVT driver, and N7 clearly shows in bluetooth - paired devices - profiles, under internet access, "connected to device for internet access".
yet all apps on N7 still say no connection.
god somebody pls help me!! It just doesn't make any sense!
btw, I did tick the option of "internet access sharing" and selected the bluetooth network in the settings of the internet accessing connection on my laptop.
I just don't understand whatever went wrong...

Yes, but it's not free. There is a free trial though if you want to make sure it works with your setup.

its posible this, i read a LOT and not a solution =(
i read about wireless ad hoc conection but im looking for USB not wireless ad hoc, seems no one do it or maybe i didint read, using XP since apps like conectifity uses w7
thanks
assuming your computer is connected to the internet through at wire and if it also has wireless you can always create a "wifi hotspot". though having your phone use your computers net connection via usb... don't think you can do that. the closest you can get to that is a reverse ssh tunnel.
thanks for reply
perhaps what i want it share PC conection to phone
this can be done using wireless router and creating an ad hoc
perhaps i dont have a router or wifi in my pc to share i want use the USB wire cable to share my pc internet (ADSL)
like windows mobile

Hey Guys
i have to questions about gingerbread. I´ve at the moment this version installed:NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V2.3_NAND_(Android-2.3.2)_update, but i think it is a more general issue.
Is it possible the have internet access via usb cable connection and windows7!?
In froyo i was able to select between my sd card, loading and internet passthrough.
Second thing is: i like to have this app. someone knows the name of it?
Is this as issue with all Gingerbread versions? Which version is recommendable?

Is nothing else like wifi tethering. In some builds works only after the installation of an appropriate application such as "wired tether 1.4" (market, google), unless you mean about the shared internet connection on your device from your win7 via usb...
no as far as i understood is tethering the other way around. tethering is the connection of my computer via mobile internet connection but i wanna have the other way around...
i want to use the usb cable to connect my mobile to the internet via win7

I don't think you can do that. And the "application" you're talking about is actually part of the Sense roms that you can download. You can't get it on your current rom, no matter what/how much you try.

You could use vnc and connect your phone to your pc that way. But then you would see the desktop of your pc on your phone and remote control your pc.
Not the same as sharing the internet connection but depending on what you want to do it may be sufficient.

the USB tethering your talking about, is only for HTC Sense roms. stock android 2.3 doesnt have that feature other than wifi tethering.

Like MS Active sync for Windows.
Can't do it without software on PC side, so it's not possible for now.
The only reason I left the NexusHD ROM was because I didn't like how I couldn't manage connections through the dropdown menu that you posted the picture of. Currently on MDJ CM7 V2.6
to the OP, you could simply connect you phone via wifi to your home router and get internet access that way.
it imho would be cumbersome to remain wired to your pc for internet access passthrough.
hope i don't have these problems when i try it out!
