Hi
I just got a dopod c800 AKA p4350.
Its got WM 5 on it. I wanted to upgrade the same to WM6.
Have read the threads but couldnt figure the english rom version and also need some help on upgrading.
can someone point me to the right rom and the instructions.
thanks
Whatever you do, if your SPL is currently 1.XX do NOT hardSPL or use USPL. Use the official RUU to attemp to flash your device. IF it changes your SPL and IPL to 4.xx then you can use HARDSPL and USPL.
Other than that, you can download the official WM6 from the thread that's stickied that talks about all the ROMs.

Yes it's possible, 'cause this is what I did.
Make a search on the forum or go to the Diamond wiki, you'll find 1.93 olinex with all explanations you need for install.
I've been reading the wiki, but either it was not clear enough or i am dumb enough (^^)
can anyone pls clarify me? does SoftSPL need to be loaded on every system startup or just only on rom upgrade?
it seemed to me a better choice to use SoftSPL instead of HardSPL to not void warranty.
since OliNex (uber pro ty dudes) are developing a HardSPL is it possible to port/transform/whatever to SoftSPL?
best regards

softspl aka sspl is only used for flashing spl's. You can't flash a rom using a sspl. Why do you think the Hardspl is created???????
thought
sspl -> temp fix
hspl -> perm fix
With the softspl you flash the hard spl and then you flash a rom with it

no. imagine the following case... your device has no matching shipped rom for it... you flash a rom via sspl... flash gets interrupted... YOU're STUCK!!!
and warranty isn't voided with hardspl, just reflash to stock SPL before sending it in...

As long as you follow the correct procedure while using either USPL or HSPL you will be fine. Only difference between USPL & HSPL is that USPL is temporary and you are required to re-use it before evry flash to new rom or radio and HSPL is permanent so once its on you can continually flash new roms & radios without having to reuse it.
cRaCKwHoRe provided a nice and easy Dummys guide which can be found in my signature. Alternatively there is more information in the wiki
sweet thanks for the information. all these flashing stuff is so confusing. i will try to use HSPL.
Question: im reading the guide right now. I got 1.14.0000, so do i go straight to step 5? or do go to step 1? also do i need to download all these files?

Seeing as your following guide your query should really be in the guide thread and this one could be closed my MOD.
Your answer - If you have 1.14.0000 go to step (5) as guide states. Only download what is necessary.
If you plan to be a constant flasher I would ignore most of the guide as it states at start of it and just flash HSPL 1.56 before flashing new rom.
USPL is temporary and you would need to re-use it before every flash to new rom or radio. HSPL is permanent so use it once and never again!!
Guys, i've finally decided to flash my stock rom. It's orange one and info says is't SPL-1.14.0000

Hi, do you have installed the correct drivers??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524619
cheer dude, but i think i've sorted it. USB cable was connected through the hub, so pluged it in directly, voila! it worked lol..
Sorry for double post, bit noobish question.
so it shows my SP is 1.14.0000
what am is suppose to do next? use USPL or HSPL?
And what rom? first 1.56?
it's just way too confusing, well at least for me

You can use USPL or HSPL. USPL will change your stock SPL only for a moment, so you can't be worry about warranty.
HSPL will change SPL and replace it. You can also restore stock SPL and delete HSPL from device before you give back device to the service.
but can i use any desired rom straight away? if so, why do i need to know what my spl is?

if you have stock ROM now and you want to change it to e. g. Miri 6.5 v25 ROM which is 1.56 based, you must first install official 1.56 ROM which replace youcy stock SPL to 1.56. Second you can flash it with USPL or HSPL to get e. g. Miri ROM.

Ah i understand, first of all i need new official rom, which is 1.56 and then i can use basically any desired rom. Does flashing 1.56 rom means i'm gonna loose warranty on my phone?

you can get 1.56 ROM on official HTC Website- you You'll not lose the guarantee
but
Every unofficial ROM from XDA it's the loss of the guarantee, but you can restore stock ROM and go to service...

so you have to get deviceID from guy who can download it. Then you can install it using USPL/HSPL

dnload and install hspl 1.56 olinex from the tutorial thread..
no need to update to official rom... jus a waste of tim..
if u dont want hspl then dnload 1.54 stock from the same thread and flash it.
use uspl nex tim onwards to flash new roms.
updatin to officials is a waste of time..
that's exactly what i'm doing right now. Downloading 1.54 update and then will install it and put on dutty'r extreme i think it's called. Is that correct procedure?
Talking about 1.56, what i ment is that i've downloaded updated and it wouldn't install. So guess will have to do it through the bootloader. Am i correct?
Last think i want is to damage my "gem" lol..;-)

well to dnload the update u need a serial number..
nd u always can flash from bootloader as it is the safest way.
the best advise i can give u is install hspl 1.56 olinex..
this is because in future if nethin goes wrong wid ur usb port u still can flash stock rom and spl.
if u use uspl it will not be possible...
and in any case fr warranty purposes also ull change spl from 1.54 to 1.14.
so why not 1.56.olinex to 1.14.
involves the same steps rite!!
