No 'Liberate' in Settings ! - Shift Development

I bought a used SHIFT. Previous owner created an Administrator Account.
I renamed this acct. but cannot delete it.
After following the LIBERATE video;
When I click 'Settings' icon in snap view I DON'T SEE THAT LIBERATE FILE !
Problem is: I don't have a CELLULAR connection, I am using SHIFT with WIFI ONLY. So I can't EXACTLY follow the video for moving LIBERATE & LINK FROM email to 'My Documents' and 'Settings' folders !!!
I don't even see the My Device folder in file explorer !!
Can ANYONE break down what folders to place these 2 files into and execute from ? DAM THIS VISTA BUSINESS !!!
Thanks : )

No activesync on ppc after rom upgrade..

Hello,
I just updated my qtek 9090 with BA_DT_WWE_DutchRetail_14000_553_11200_Ship.exe.
And there is no activesync on the pda...
Activesync works but i can`t start the program so i can`t sync with my exchange server...
Any idea`s?
Regards
If you hit the start button, you do not see Activesync along the top?
If you don't, then go into your Windows Directory using File Explorer and select "View all files" from the hold-menu. Then look to see if you have 2 files names async, one should be 1B, and the other 14 or so bytes. If you do, and you are SURE Activesync does not appear in your programs list nor the top of your Start Menu, then copy the 1B file and paste it into \Windows\Start Menu\Programs to be set.

how to access windows folder in Vista device center 6.1
in active sync 4.5 it was easy
Open Windows Explorer. Press ALT. You'll see a menu. Press Tools -> Folder Options. Go to the View tab. Uncheck Hide protected operating system files and also chose Show hidden files and folders. Press OK.
Now you'll be able to see the Windows folder on your PDA.

how to install applications?

hi guys, im new here and got my diamond just yesterday.. its my first pocket pc, and i need real help..
looked around the forums and found a lot of good stuff..
downloaded a couple of applications like advanced configuration tools, gsen, registery editor, but i dont know how to install them. when i unzip the files on my pc the are in xml format and when i double click on the setup file it opens in notepad..
plz help me, what should i do? how do i install these applications?
Instead of unzipping the .cab files on your pc, you need to copy them to your diamond (using activesync or select 'disk drive' when you plug it in).
Then open file explorer on your diamond, navigate to where you copied the .cab file, and run it - .cab is an installer file for windows mobile applications

Do the following, hehe
When you download most programs they will be in .CAB format. Now all this means is that they can be installed DIRECT from the phone.
What I do is create a folder on my Diamond in Internal Storage called APPS and make sure my Diamond is synced to my pc / laptop using Activesync on XP or Windows Mobile Device centre if on Vista and then copy all the .CABS that i have downloaded into the APPS folder on my phone.
Once im ready to install the applications its very simple.
On your Diamond click on START and then PROGRAMS and locate FILE EXPLORER.
When FILE EXPLORER has loaded up in the top left of the window you will notice a memory card icon with the current directory you mobile is pointing to, push this and you will then see MY DEVICE and the location you are currently at.
If you have used a pc before its very similar to how the pc windows explorer used to navigate, anyway, select MY DEVICE and then choose INTERNAL STORAGE and then APPS.
Then its just a matter of selecting which application you wish to install as all the .CABS will be displayed. Select the one you want to install and follow the installation process.
If there are any small programs 1mb or less then I tend to install these onto my phone storage memory and for games I install them onto INTERNAL STORAGE but its up to you. Some programs require a SOFT RESET to work.
The SOFT RESET button is located where the STYLUS is stored on the phone, pull the STYLUS out and then you will see a RED BUTTON inside.
Push this and your phone will restart.
There is more information here at good ol xda-developers.com and also http://modmydiamond.info
Hope this helps!

it absolutely does
I have to translate to English, but in your Explorer it should be like:
Mobile Device - My windows mobile-based device - Windows ...
that doesnt show all the files though

sure?
can you pls add an example? after a very quick see-through I'm inclined to disagree
maybe you should check the following setting in your windows explorer:
Tools - Folder Options... - View (tab) - Files and Folders - Display xxx... option settings, maybe something required is unchecked there

Missing "Blank Note" default template from Notes application

I am on my second X1 phone and both phones when new had the option available for a "Blank Note" along with others (Meeting notes, Memo, Phone Memo and To Do) in the notes application. However the "Blank Note" option mysteriously disappeared after a few days on both the phones. It could be some installed application interfering with Notes but i haven't installed any application that has anything to do with the Notes application. And, in anycase rest of the templates are there and Notes appliation works fine as such without the blank note template. I recall missing the Blank Note template today after i went to "Global input Options" from the Notes Option menu. Is there a file or way to bring the "Blank Notes" option back? I've searched this and couple of forums but seems there's no similar problem reported elsewhere.
Another thing i've noticed is that the sorting order always initiates by "Name" and i have to select Sort by "date" everytime i open the notes application. Is this the same with everyone else??
hi
extracted those from my current rom, located under \My Documents\
should do to just extract the archive there (it's the complete Templates folder)
hope it helps

This is interesting...!!! I have all the files you sent in the templates folder and quite a few more as well!!! In my own Templates folder there seem to be templates for Excel and Word while others definately look like to be linked to the templates available in Notes application. These are *.pwi files that correspond to each of the *.dotx file (which i dont see in the Templates folder you sent me!!! ... strange!?!?). Did you leave out the .pwi files yourself from the templates folder you sent me??? Because what i think is that this is the missing link. I have all the .pwi files (Meeting notes.pwi, Memo.pwi, Phone memo.pwi and To Do.pwi) in my Templates folder EXCEPT "Blank.pwi". I think if i can get this "Blank.pwi" file then the option for a Blank Note should appear in Notes application. This also drives me to question you if you have the "Blank note" option available in your phone running Notes application??
If anyone else who has Blank note option available in his/her Notes application send me a copy of his/her Templates folder under My Documents, that will be great. Meanwhile i will try to create a blank note manually by deleting everything in an available note and try copying the note file in Templates folder as "Blank.pwi".
Edit: IT WORKED!!! I just copied an empty note file in the Templates folder, named it Blank.pwi and Viola..., the option for a blank note now appears in the Default Template option in Notes application. Thanks DrakenKorin for introducing me to the Templates folder . Does this mean i can create other templates as well?!?!?

Just a correction... all the notes template *.pwi files were in the folder that DrakenKorin sent. I just wasn't able to see them on my PC as it was hidding System files from me. So simply copy pasting DrakenKorin's Template folder should work as well.
