Ok folks, Let's hear the stupidest questions you have read on XDA.

Since I am bored beyond wits, and was inspired by WPBears quotes at the end of his signature, I would like to hear the stupidest, most outlandish, jaw dropping, 'How could you be THAT stupid' questions you have ever read, answered, or posted on XDA...
mine isn't great, but it would have to be..
'If I SIM unlock my wizard, can I switch over to Sprint?'

i'd answered too many posts not to have to surpress most of the silly ones
but vaguely recall people asking for how to do tasks which were clearly something one just clicked on of the things present on the normal today screen menu

Hmmm... I'm sort of loathe to get involved because I'll probably find somebody's choice for stupid question is one of mine...

Thanks for the edit, Mike. Genuinely meant to just retype myself the last bit, not actually use Quote function with name on, when I began that. My ineptitude knows no bounds...

couldn't this thread be put into a different section of the kaiser forum? How about Kaiser General....
contacted mods for removal.

I don't mean to be a jerk but this is being posted in Kaiser General.
If more people could just answer the questions, this could be a nicer forum.

well you aren't a jerk but dumb. It was originally posted in rom section that is why i contacted mods to put it into general.

Then a footnote stating that it had been moved would be nice. Otherwise you are the one that looks dumb.
I am not trying to cause trouble...just stating the obvious.

I agree completely! I always search and always recommend it.

To actually ANSWER the question in the original post, I find the Minimal Dialer skin which is on another dialer to be the most effecient in functionality and pleasing in the cosmetic field. I like it so much that I no longer go to my contact to call people, I actually DIAL the numbers. Not even kidding.

I PM'd mods. They moved it after I stated it was in the wrong forum, which post 2 states. I really had no idea when they were planning to move it or if they would even consider moving the thread. Therefore, footnoting on the second posts would absolutely make no sense. However, I did state that I notified mod for removal. Therefore, I do not comprehend how I would be the one that looks dumb. Do you really believe I would sit here and wait for the thread to be moved to the correct forum? WTF is wrong with people now a days.

Kaiser dialer
What a bunch of "senior" whine bags! It would be nice if the mods could delete the worthless posts from this thread and let's just stick to the topic.
I am just using the Kaiser dialer for now. Haven't messed around with dialers much yet. I am interested in seeing what is out there though and what other people like to use.

Does need to stay on topic, but is comical.
Nadavi's dialers are probably one of the fastest and smoothest dialers out there, but I do like the new L26 Dialer.

IMO the DxC dialers are the best so far and from what I've seen.
The only problem with DxC Dialers are the troubles for redialing and it screws up when you try to do a conference call.
So I revert back to Dutty's Rom wm6.1 dialer.
We should all post pics of the dialers we are talking.
so... I'm going to start with mine.

I tought I was the only one with that problem with my dialer,,,

It does seem that it would be appropriate for a mod to "sign" when editing, altering or moving a post/thread so as to take responsibility and prevent confusion.
On topic:
What about button size guys? I find the buttons are a little puny, but I'm afraid that I'll lose functionality (other than straight dialing) if I try a dialer that uses more real estate.

So.......
What kind of Dialers are there out there? I've got pretty much stock / T-moby everything, having only modded HTC Home, and would like to see if there's a new dialer I can use? I'm interested in what others are using as well!

When we move, merge or delete a thread, we usually leave a redirect link that will expire after say a week unless it's spam and I personally dont leave a re-direct then. Other than that, the forum doesn't allow us to "sign" a merge, move or deletion. However, if we edit your post, say for warez, language or whatever the case may be, in the lower left corner of the post, you will see who edited, what time it was edited and the reason for the edit.

HTC TOUCH HD doesn't vibrate anymore

My hd doesn't vibrate anymore after rom update WM 6.5 ( Mikenificent7.0 )...
The settings are oke...

Did you try hard reset after download? If not try do this. If you still have this problem try to install original ROM for sure that hardware is OK.

Hard reset doesn't fix it...
With original ROM he does vibrate....
Anyone else?

Do you mean vibrate at all, or during text messages and calls?
If it's the last thing, take another look at your settings.

Firstly welcome to xda, but as a newcomer you should take the time to familiarize yourself with the posting rules. If everyone posted new threads for simple questions the forum would soon spiral out of control. Please read these

First off, welcome to XDA. We hope you enjoy your stay
Secondly, as per above post, please familarize yourself with the forum rules and the Blackstone wiki
If you have a query regarding a particular rom, app etc post your query in that thread. No need to create a new thread for every query.
Also, we have 'sticky' threads at the top of each forum which provide help. May be worth while reading over these as well

SMS Show Sent Time Instead of Received

How can I get the SMS timestamp to show the time the SMS was sent instead of the time it was received? Some ROMs such as Serendipity have that feature built in, while others such as Cognition don't. I've asked many times in the Cognition thread on how to get this changed, but I've been ignored. I've done searching many times too and the only info I found was for here.

I hear that the Canadian Rogers(?) ROMs had that problem and there is a fix. I'm not exactly sure that is it, but I bet its better to start somewhere than get no answer, eh?

As seen in my sig, Cognition. 3.03 at the moment. Posted in the Cognition thread numerous times and I was ignored.

Hooray for getting ignored.

Look in the serendipity thread. I have seen the issue discussed with a fix posted there.
As for sigs ....remember that many use the xda app and don't see them which is why the question was asked.

Yea I actually try to follow the Serendipity thread to the best I can. I even asked the question there too, but never got an answer... If my memory is correct, the previous version of Serendipity I used had this feature so I know it's possible to do without an app and stuff.

Grab the mms.apks attached in the thread and one of them will work I am sure.....click on paperclip by thread title to see all attachments in a thread.

That's what the paper clip does? I just thought it shows that something is attached. I'll give it a try and then report back if I find one that shows the time SMS is sent and not the time SMS is received.
