I was wondering is their a way to put the rom into internal memory and the apps in the SD? If so how would I partition my SD card to do that?

I don't see how that thread helps..? I just want a partition with the apps not the rom
The rom is always on the internal memory, thats why its the rom. Your phone loads the rom files from the sd card onto your phone.
You have to partition your sd card first, that way your phone/rom knows where to store the apps.
Original question(s) seem to be solved.

Maybe a stupid question, maybe not. I have a rooted G1 with Cyanogen 4.2.3.1 and a configured sd card with the ext2 and ext3 partitions. I am getting a new G1. Would I be able to root the new G1 and just use my current SD card, or do I have to start over from scratch by formatting my sd card for use with the new phone?
you should be able to use the same sd card as long as its not hero.
do you have a spare sd card to use for the RC29 image?

I do! This is good news. I am planning to use a spare SD to root and then hoping the rom will read my current card as if it was always there.
Can I partition my sd card with out Linux? If so, could someone tell me how? If not, could I buy a partitioned sd card from someone and have it shipped to me?
Thanks
This is not development related. Post all your questions in the Questions and Answers forum.
As far as partitioning, if you're using amon_ra's recovery, it has a built-in partitioning utility.
use GParted to partition your sd card, really simple.
I'll sell a partioned sd card for $500
I was wondering if anyone knows whether the SD Card Partition in ROM Manager works for Darktremor App2SD.
Also does Cyanogen CM6 support Darktremor App2SD?
Yes, ROM manager's partitions will work with DT A2SD... but CM6 out-of box, I'm not sure... ask @tkirton for confirmation here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715940
So, now that we have Froyo we can move apps to the SD Card, I am guessing it means the External SD Card?
Should we use ROM Manager to Partition the Card so that we can do that or will the phone do it when we tell it to move the app to the SD card?
If we flash to a new ROM, and the APPs are on the SD Card are we like cool to go and have no need to back up APPs ever again?
