How can find the file with the Owner Information?
I want to cook my information (Identification and Notes) in my Roms.
Because in my situation there is more change I need medical help.
When people find me and turn my PPCphone on the see the 'My Info' screen.
Offcourse when I realease the Rom I'll leave this onfo.
Thanx in forward!
As far as I know its in the registry. That's the way I backup and restore my owner information.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Owner\]
"Owner"=
"E-mail"=
"Telephone"=
"Name"=
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Ident\]
"OrigName"=
"Name"=
"Restriction"=
"Desc"=""
"Username"=
Thanks! I'll try this!
As far as I know it's a new binary value. Tried it myself but it's hard to find out.

I used Sashimi to backup my owner information and the registry settings shown in my previous post is what Sashimi is backing up.
I used it several time when flashing new ROM's and it brought back my Owner Information and Device Information.

Another possibility is Sprite Backup.
You can create one backup file that just contains your owner information.
Other backup tools should have the same possibilities.

I have looked into a few threads and found some information but nothing to answer my questions
when installing a new ROM will i be able to save my current ROM + settings + porgrams in order to revert back to at a later point in case the newer Rom I dislike?
also
Installing a ROM will probably delete my o2 Service settings how will i go about getting them all back/setting my phone up again?
Any help on these 2 questions will help greatly especially from o2 users who have changed ROMs
search for UC-user customization i believe

u can make a backup of your rom, then flash a new one and if u dont like it, u can flash back to your first rom and restore the backup.
What u mean by servise settings? Like provider settings for mms, internet, ....? If so, then almost every rom has app called connection setup that will automatically detect your provider and setup your settings.
lol i was about to post the same question as well. now that i know this i have one question, would it be better to get a start a new rom when i get a microsd memory or is it enough with the phone memory?

the rom is stored in phone memory, but when u want to install new apps, its better to install them to sd.

More info on the back up side of things would be great.. i have found some old thread on dumping.. but at the time of writing there was no way to compile the parts of the dump and re flash the ROM
Is there an easy way to do this now?

Hi, after flashing and flashing different roms, I finally found one and did some customizations the way I want. Is there a way that I can completely backup all the settings (including themes, color, menu, registry items, etc...) so I can still test new roms. Thanks

you can try the new spbbackup to back up the entire device, but you cannot restore it on another rom build, it is possible to damage your device if you restore on a different rom build.

Thank you. But it is not free. Is there any free method? I don't mind if it is a little complicated.

i think sktools has a backup utility thats free in sktools.. I have never tried it, but if you search the web good enough you can find some things for free!!
I did a search but could find the answer. I've been doing a lot of flashing here lately and with that come a lot of backup. Am I able to rename them from their default (BDS-DATE-TIME) to something a little more orginized, like DamageContol 2.05 Finished, or will that prevent me from doing a NAND Restore later if needed.

Yes you can I do it all the time so that i remember which one it is instead of trying to guess which one it is like I named my original 1.5 nandroid backup as original
Excellent! I have like eight on my computer right now and it's getting hard to remember which is which.

Really? I didn't know that, they all have spaces in them now. I'll have to fix that.
Thanks for the info!
If you want to use spaces, just replace them with underscores.
Hello,
Unrevoked 3.14 is now available for the Wildfire.
Grab it here and enjoy!
http://www.unrevoked.com/recovery/
Please read the FAQ:
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/unrevoked2
And install the HBOOT drivers if you are on Windows:
http://www.unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
Good luck, have fun. Please report issues here.
HTC SYNC CAUSES PROBLEMS. DON'T USE IT.
Other programs which communicate with the phone over USB cause problems as well. Disable them until after you have run Unrevoked 3.14

So, we have two reasons we haven't gotten this out yet:
1) We're pretty burned out at the moment,
2) And three of us now have full semesters of classes to deal with too. We've been focusing on other things.
I hope to get this out this weekend at the latest. But don't quote me on that. Even though it's printed in text right here.
I will update this thread when I have more information.
See you soon.

Because it involves work compiling, packaging and testing it so that it "just works". Behind the words "just works" lies a complex set of processes. Just hold tight, people have lives outside this place
They should take the time, better a good running root, as a ok running root with 1000 of questions afterwards.
Take you time, university is more important, and when its done, its done. I also appreciate your work and hope for a release soon.
Hurry up please
Hurry up please guys! You can not count how many folks are refreshing unrEVOked page again and again to see the new face on it!

Backup everything
Hi
I assume the unrEVOked will install a new ROM on the phone, clearing all the data stored on it. So we have to make backup from the phone before rooting it (Is it true?)
So I tried to make the full backup. The best solutions available were the:
1. The Titanium Backup. It needs the BusyBox to be installed. I tried to install BusyBox on my wildfire which was already soft-rooted using MartinEve great work, but it made errors creating a folder under /system/xbin and failed. So Titanium Backup is not a solution now (Again, Is it true?)
2. The Nandroid Backup which is also a perfect tool, but I think it will not work again with the soft-root and needs the unrEVOked root ROM to be installed. (Is it true?)
Finally I have no idea to backup all the phone except simple tools like ASTRO file manager which makes a backup of all applications, etc.
Is there any better idea?
All the best
No idea what the best backup way is.
But unrevoked will not release a ROM.. they are just releasing a.. ehm dont know how to put it... a something that makes it possible to flash other ROMs to your phone

Hi,
No, the unrEVOked root will simply flash a custom recovery to your phone -- the main partition remains in-tact. That said, you might still want to do a backup using a 3rd party market app if you feel paranoid.
Thanks Martin.
By the way, end of week is so close, and still there are only 5 faces on the site. We are really waiting
done expect to much set ur hope a month forward and be happily suprised when its out erlier.

Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this.
Yesterday my Samsung Galaxy S3 with ArchiDroid 2.3.8 suddenly restarted. And since then it isn't possible to start the device at all.
A photo of the starting screen is attached.
I had this problem one time ago. This happenend as I tried to use a HDMI/MHL-adaptor with my S3. Wiping and reinstall Archidroid was the solution. But I don't want to do this all two weeks...
So it would be nice, if you know other solutions or the reason why the phone behaves that way.
Thanks,
Konne

Yes, I too have experiences that might help the developers from time to time. It seems silly to have to look for other topics we can waste a few posts on. A few times I've tried to send a PM question/observation but those have never received replies and seem to be a waste of time.
That's right!
Now I wiped the phone and re-installed Archidroid and it works again...but I don't know how long...? And I have to download all apps again, configure everything and some data is lost (like SMS).
Can somebody recommend an app with which I can backup everything and recover with the the bootloader?

EDIT:
Now I did a backup with Philz Touch ClockworkMod. There it is possible to do a custom backup. But I don't know which part of the system was broken...so I have to try it next time
