Seen this on the microsoft website so thought I'd give it a try on the Diamond
Seems quite slick
www.sportypal.com
thx! I'll give it a try
This app is very nice, my passion is cycling.
It works without any problem on my Diamond.
When i go biking i turn on the app. and just put my phone in the backpack, it's getting the GPS very clean.
Excellent work, i'm very satisfied from Sportypal.
Cheers
New version is available for download
SPORTYPAL 1.0.6
http://sportypal.com/Phones/WinMo
I am going to try this out later, been using RunGPS for recording my running.
This looks great and simple, also you get to view all your results and records on line, which you can either allow others to view or not...brilliant, how did you find this software ?
I'm using the 1.0.7 version now, i can see the pace while running and also some other options added to their web service. Because i'm running on the same track good thing now is that i can compare my runs. Still trying to get good GPS coverage. Sometimes it gives me really correct mapping, but not always, I don't know if is the GPS or I have to change something in the settings?
I use this since it came out.
It has everything, loggs nicely, good social function, includes running and biking and has all the map **** you'd need.
It's pretty much perfect.

From FAQ:
Tracking accuracy of SportPal is dependent on the accuracy of the GPS data that it analyses. GPS accuracy is influenced by many factors, such as: atmosphere, the ionosphere and the position of your mobile phone.
I use Sportypal since it come out also.
It is greater every time I use it. I like new features compare tracks and goals.
Social part of Sportypal is the best, multyplatform and Sportypal friends are right features.
Yes, both of this features are very useful, especially the one for comparing tracks. I'm not that active for the goal feature .
From the social part I like the option to embed with the ride summary data along side the mapped route.

Yes the "goal" feature is interesting, in my case, I have to cycle at least 20 hours prior to 22/10 which I can then trace through the website. So I will see how the results are gonna be next week.

DON'T POST LINKS TO WAREZ....I WILL BAN YOU
you have been warned
Ok i`ll go first then! Even though i`m new to Android also....
1 Power Manager, something ive always wanted on a phone, especially when you have phones that can go flat in one day of use. Allows you to set it so that when your battery is getting low it`ll turn of wifi 3g etc.
2 Beyondpod the best RSS feeder.
3 Copilot live 8 the only sat nav for it as yet.
4 Bluex not tried it yet to be honest but you need it for sending files.
5 Netcounter for all of you on capped data packages. monitors how much is used.
6 Shazam obvious really!
7 beebPlayer A quality iplayer style app watch live bbc channels too.
8 Task manager does what you think it does!
There are many other apps that i have some ive not even tried yet. Some worth a mention are: YouTube downloader, XGalaga, Tunewiki, snapPhoto, last.fm, imeem mobile, locale, compass, and barcode scanner.
Feel free to ask me any questions on any i love to help....
Taskiller for killing off processes and apps.
Astro - file explorer app.
Agree with Co-pilot above - wouldn't have bought it without proper sat nav program.
Not essential but useful - Toggle Settings and Tone Picker.
Still looking for a decent movie player which seems a long way off. If coreplayer ports over the Hero will be complete!
Wikitude augmented reality browser - show it to your iPhone pals and watch them weep...
Second BeebPlayer. Really nice iPlayer implimentation.
My Hero came with the pre-latitude Google Maps - needed an upgrade!
A decent compass app!
London Tube Status app - so I know whether to run or walk out of my office in the evening!
Great thread- thanks for the advise.
However I cant find this beebplayer app... help?
Locale - Awesome app. Lets you customise your phone based on location, time, etc.
Last.fm - until spotify is released
OpenSudoku (Best one by quite a margin)
ShopSavvy - Barcode price comparison that works in the UK and gives you local results as well as web ones
Google Voice Search - Works surprisingly well
Doom!!!!

what about MSN? i expect my Hero in 3 days, need to prepare also, barcode scanner, is that pre-installed or needs to be downloaded/bought?
Barcode scanner is free from the marketplace, it works really well.
Ive got some - had an android Handset as my main phone for 6 months and I adore it - currently have a Google Ion dev version of magic.
PicSay (and Picsay Pro) - Ive got the pro version - takes pics from camera or gallery and really easily adds speech bubbles, clipart, doodles, colourise, warp, captions etc then allows you to send via mms, mail, to twitter, picassa, facebook.
AK Notepad - very simple, easy to use and very robust. can back up to SD.
Twidroid and Babbler - might be redundant on Hero but great twitter and facebook apps.
Bettercut - allows you to add shortcuts for allsorts of stuff, and to edit any shortcut on your desktop to show your own icons.
UK TVguide - free version has a pop up on start and an add strip at bottom but small and simple to use
Wallpaper Set And Save - lets you use .pngs for crisper images
Jewellust - brilliant bejewelled clone a bit like Jewel Quest...
BookmarkBR - Backup to SD and restore your bookmarks from and to the android browser - great for when you eventually start wiping a lot and loading roms etc...
G-Backup - backs up SMS and MMS and a few other things to folders on gmail server. Auto back up is brilliant again if you wipe and change roms a lot you never lose a message.
Root Explorer - for when hero gets root - lets you go anywhere and options to toggle r/w and r/o in each folder, to copy paste and move stuff - dangerous in the wrong hands obviously...
Beebplayer is great, as is an app called Television, lets you download and run videocasts mostly from US but grand

Hi Liam,
I've been on Windows mobile for years and have crossed over to android and got a htc hero. I'm very impressed with android and wish I'd crossed over sooner.
One thing I really miss is microsoft voice command on my old wm device.
Do you know if there is a similar app for the android os? There are voice dialers on android market but they dont seem to cut it for me.
Can you help please?
Cheers,
Dom

its very cool.....IMO
Using CM 4.04 currently but this issue was present even back in JF1.51.
Using Google Scoreboard:
All World Cup Qualifying games are "Game Postponed" even if the game is on right now and I can see the scores.
No pre-season NFL scores.
Looking at NCAA Football info it attempts to download stuff then says that "Obsolete data format, please check Android Market for a newer version of Scorboard."
I have checked and saw that the version on Market is 2.1. The version I have installed is 2.1.
I cleared all cache from the app, removed my favs and uninstalled the app and then re-installed it. But the issue persists.
Anyone else have these issues?
Any other recommended sports scoreboard app that is all-in-one (I don't want one app for NCAA football, one for NFL, one for EUFA Cup, one for each sport, etc.).
I haven't used Scoreboard since last year after some issues I had with it draining my battery. Anyways, I did a quick search on cyrket/market and found SportsTap. It's an all-in-one app. I haven't used it yet, but it currently has better ratings than Scoreboard.
I got this error too when i was trying to get NCAAF scores. First games are Thursday, they need to get going on this.
I'm having the same issue with NCAAF. ALL YOUR GAMES ARE BELONG TO OBSOLETE DATA
Just swith to SportsTap. Much better than Scoreboard and easier to track your favorite teams in every sport, including soccer clubs.
w00t!
New version of google scoreboard out fixes the issue.
Just in the nick of time I might add.
Go Ducks! (you really do have to be a fan of the team that your Bartender is a fan of.)
Nevermind. Still has "bad format errors" when looking at all divisions in NCAAF. Sigh.
Also, yesterday it only showed 6 games as being played. It didn't even show Florida (not that I like em, but they are ranked number 1), Michigan, Ohio State, Tenesee....lame sauce indeed.
Going on to try SportsTap.
Does sportstap give a widget also?
Well....
SportsTap has a widget.
I can only select a total of 4 teams across ANY sport to have as a fave.
Lame, but okay.
What sucks nads is the fact that the ONLY team to show up in the widget is the Seattle Seahawks NFL team.
What. The. Hell.
None of my faves are in the widget. I picked 4 NCAAF teams, not any NFL teams.
It looks like the sports icon on the left is clickable like it can change what sport is active on the widget but it doesn't "do" anything. I have tried uninstalling, clearing the cache, etc but still....the Seahawks.
Can someone please post the apk files to both scoreboard and sportstap? I can't access the market app on my phone!
Thanks!
Sam

When I got my phone with 3 it had alot of extra useless apps/widgets but there was one that looked very useful!
I can't find it on the app store or anywhere when I Google but its a My 3 Widget.
It allows me to simply have a widget telling me my data usage and so on without having to get to it though the browser.
Does anyone have it???
Or even a backup of the default ROM from a DHD from 3?
Give Quota a go, its available for free from the market and comes with a small widget that shows call and data balances for most Aus providers including 3. Much better than 3's widget imo

EDIT: EDIT: EDIT: I'm using 3G watchdog. The one you told me is too complicated. This one has got all I need.
