Hello,
i'm using HTC Hero rom v1.4 on my HTC Magic (32A), and i want to create a personal photos album. Rom offres "Album" application but i'm unable to create a personal photos album with it.
I want to change background with a photo on sd card, but in "Album" application doesn't appear my jpg.
How i can do?
regards.
If you create a directory on the SD card, and put some jpgs inside, does that work? If that fails, I know that the "download" directory should work. My downloaded pictures are all there and they show up in the Album app.

Hi. I found a way to make htc album ignore some folders you don't want to see . For example i do not want it to show me all pictures stored in "/Program files".
You just have add values to the registry with the route of the folder you want to ignore in
HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAlbum/Ignore
the problem is that it doesn't work for folders in the Internal Storage, like tom tom map folder ("\Internal storage\Iberia" in my case)
Any help?
Thanks
Does this work for music and videos too?
music???? its about htc album, so i guess pictures and videos, but nothing related to music..

If you store album art in the form of jpg's, then the Picture Viewer will display those mixed in with your real photos. Ideally, you would want to exclude the Music folder.
in fact, the music folder is by default excluded in my daimond, but only music folder in main memory.
the problem is that i can not manage to exclude folders in internal storage, it just doesnt work.. if someone manages to exclude folders in internal storage, we will be able to exclude any folder we want..
Don't have a Diamond for myself to try it but worth a try if you haven't already. Have you tried e.g. using "\Iberia" instead of "\Internal storage\Iberia"?
thanks for your answer. yes, i did, but did not work.
also tried "storage card\iberia" and "\%storage card%\iberia
Any update on this?
Would be nice to get rid of unwanted folders in Album...
...If I find something I will post it here...

This has been mentioned a few times before.
Connect the diamond to a PC in disk drive mode and use windows explorer to find all image files. Select the ones you don't want to see in album and mark them as hidden. Once the files are all hidden, the folders will no longer appear in Album.
Thanks man,
Stupid me never thought of that.

TY for this info mas now Album folder is usable !
This usually happens when the SD Card has been changed and you've drag and dropped the DCIM folder to the new card. Try renaming the current DCIM folder, then reinsert the card and take a new picture. Copy paste the old 100media folder to the new DCIM folder. Soft reset. Tada!
is there a way to have specific folders not show up in 3d gallery
it shows every single picture on my memory card every icon or instance of one
my gallery has like 20 folders
and is lagging my 3d gallery app and deleting them messes with the app or
permanantly deletes the picture
any thoughts??
put at . in front of the folder name.
.icons
Or search your SD card and see if you can find a file called .nomedia and copy that into the directory you don't want shown
wow thank you so much 3dgallery is smokin now
there was so many stupid soundboard icons and extracted pics from bootanimations it was finding and it was taking foreverrrrrr

Find the folder where the photos are saved and delete the pictures you don't want.
If you want to keep them but have them hidden put a . in front of the folder name. so it shows up as .foldername. This makes it a hidden folder and most apps will not see it or its contents.

The images may be synced from your Google Picasa account. Go to http://picasaweb.google.com/ to see if they are there.
Follow me on this...
Take a picture: it will be stored under /DCIM/Camera folder
Open QuickPic: it shows the picture under the Camera album
Open SonyAlbum: under the Images tab you will find the same picture under the current month label
Open a file manager and move the picture from /DCIM/Camera folder under the /Pictures folder
Open QuickPic: it shows the picture under the Pictures album
Open SonyAlbum: under the Images tab you will find two copies of the same picture under the current month label; if yoh look at the details of both pictures, one comes from /storage/emulated/0/Pictures and one from /storage/emulated/legacy/Pictures
Now I know that they areboth access pointsto the same physical folder, so tehre are not actually two copies of the same pictures, still Sony album sees both of them. I tried clearing cache, data etc. with no avail.
Hi is there anyway to hide the pics from showing up in album apps and the picture widget? I put some comics. On my sd card but they all shows up in the apps and widget.

I recommend that you put you comic in Zip folder and rename it such as One Piece Episode 1.cbz
then download comic book reader for android..

Watch this video and do that https://youtu.be/E-WFwKx9uqk . You can hide pictures , music and almost everything from the phone with this metod and you don't need any other apps to do this . It is simple .
it's not hard. Go to the directory where the pictures you want to hide are and create a file in that directory called ".nomedia", that's all
maybe it'll take a reboot to hide the pictures. this method works for all android phones
