No the VVM has yet to be released at all from T-Mobile. I *Think* they are releasing it as a service.
You can get VVM for free through Phone Fusion or YouMail right now.
that has to be the ugliest UI ive ever seen for a vvm app
OMG who designed that UI?! a 12 year old with Photoshop? That looks horrid.
Videos got taken down by T-Mo.
More important than the UI is the fact it's even being implemented at all using the base T-Mo VM system. This means one less app running in the background (youmail or GV), since a regular VM notification from T-Mo will be sent, and then the VVM app can be manually started. Excellent news.

Blackberry and iPhone users have one, so why don't we?
I have found one app (here: http://www.androlib.com/android.application.collegelabs-tfln-znwt.aspx) but the reviews are poor, and the QR code doesn't pull it up in the market. I've got the .apk but it won't install (running CDMA hero with the Fresh 1.0 rom).
Is anyone else interested in us getting a TFLN app?
It's not hard to set it as a bookmark. That's what I do.
I dunno a software would sound entertaining an easier than going to the website.
TFLN app
@riotkid976
There is an app on the market called TFLN, the one you found on androlib. The dev just added support for cupcake (which is why would couldn't find it) devices so you should be able to download it now.
sweet. thats pretty handy!
Anyone working on getting the new Verizon NFL app to other Android devices?
Man I hope so! But the way the NFL is with "protecting the sheild" I wouldn't be surprised if the dev got a CAD letter before they even posted the hack! LOL I don't think Verizon would be too keen either considering it cost them upwards of 700 milion for the rights to publish such an app... But here's to hoping!
I had the sprint one, but as soon as it updated it stopped working, as you had to get the updated version of the app, which you couldn't do if you weren't on sprint
There is a link to it in the Nexus one App forums. Works fine on the Nexus One, but I can't get any video on the G1. DL it, give it a shot. If anyone can get the video working that would be awesome.
Here you go guys

Can someone using OpenEclair or equivalent test this? I think it's more of an OS issue rather than hardware.
no it's not the OS, I've tried it on a couple 2.1 and 1.6 roms and still no video
I think it's frickin beast. I love it!
Is there a chance we can port the Netflix App released for the iphone today?
I am sure that they'll release it for Android, but it would be nice in the meantime.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
I don't think it would be possible to port it without first having the netflix app's source code. Plus on top of that they are two totally different operating systems with different video / audio / graphics frameworks. It would probably be easier to just write one from scratch.
Your best bet at the moment would to be just to wait until netflix releases it or to see if the blockbuster app has been ported from the droid x. While the blockbuster app sucks because you would have to pay for each movie instead of having a netflix subscription I think its the only app right now that does streaming movies I hope netflix gets its act together soon!
No chance of porting it... Netflix has been actively hiring android developers, recently looking for "android video playback experts" the official app will come sooner or later.
Netflix Android app got released... but its not for the Aria yet :/
I downloaded and installed the apk on my Aria running Gene Poole's most recent Liberated ROM. It installs fine and I can add to and modify my queue, but playback doesn't seem to work. It says 'Loading...' for about 5 seconds then goes back to the apps main screen.
I've attached the apk for anyone who wants to test it.
A bit of a warning though, installed the app is ~22MB. Considering our phones have ~130MB user storage that is quite a big chunk. Luckily it supports a2sd, which shrinks it down to about 16MB
installe the app, UI is slow but playback is fine! FINALLY! yes it works on the Aria, this little phone never ceases to amaze me.
Worked for me too!

What ROM are you all using?
confirmed working on FR008, OC kernel
browsing isn't too bad with a slight overclock.
streaming seems flawless.

Same here.
If you're running cm 7.0.0 or above, you can edit the build.prop to make it think our aria is a G2 or Nexus S. I tried it and everything works great.

Did you try before editing it?
I didn't have to edit anything, just installed on my CM7 Aria and off it went, watched an episode of Arrested Development without any issues. Only downside is AT&T data-limits!
I haz wifi DDD
And no I didn't. I probably shouldve, but oh well.

One of the main reasons I went with an Android Honeycomb tablet versus the iPad 2 is the deep level of Google account integration with Honeycomb. I was willing to overlook the lack of Honeycomb-based apps, knowing that Google would push it as they did O.G. Android (and that certainly paid off).
Oddly enough -- one of the few apps that you cannot even download for Honeycomb even though there is a pre-3.0 counterpart, is Google Voice. GV users on HC have to download an old, hacked version of the APK (to give you an idea of how out-dated, it is from before the GV app had push notifications).
How do we go about pushing Google to get HC users a working GV app, one that we can download from the Market??
I hate starting things like this, but the situation is dire (okay, not really, but still!). My plan is to tweet "Please @googlevoice push out a #Honeycomb compatible #googlevoice TODAY!" or "What does #Honeycomb and #iOS have in common? No native @googlevoice app!"

Well, the latest version in the market works fine on the xoom with out [email protected] anything. You have to download it on your phone, then move it - or I can post it for you if you want. Then side load it. No big deal.
Second, I don't think we can really complain, its a free service and a free app. They'll release it when its ready. I don't want a big pile of crap software because they released it to early, it's what got the Xoom into a lot of its mess in the first place.

I agree, and I use GV on my Xoom with no problem by doing what you described above.

I agree with you. It's shameful that the ipad has a Google voice app and we don't.

Yeah, while I support your efforts, I just gave in myself and pulled the APK from a rooted phone. It's here, if you want it, too.
Using the above app on my wifi only xoom I can text, but I can't make calls. Has anyone figured out a way to make calls with their GV number on a wifi xoom?
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
Eh. Couldn't care less about calls, only texting (when I'm outside the US, for example).
You can't do it with GV as it stands anyway; the way it works now is it makes a standard voice-call to a Google number.

Groove ip in the market allows for voice calls, I'm pretty sure but not positive it works on wifi xooms
I've updated the APK in my Dropbox link above to reflect the new GV released today (0.4.2.32).
Sorry if this has been asked and answered before but how come the refresh options for google voice on our xoom tablets is different than the same version on a non tablet android device?

It's been asked, but that's OK- there's no reason for it, and I'd like to know the rationale for this as well. It's the only thing really lacking in GV right now.

Oh, don't **** around with THAT old version! They just made a new one with HC enhancements- see here.
So you don't really have to watch the video to understand what is going on here. I usually post those as reminders to people on my Youtube channel that there is an easy, non intrusive way to get visual voicemail as an AT&T user.
A while back they stopped bundling AT&T phones with their Visual Voicemail bloatware. They replaced it with AT&T Messages. The main thing most people disliked about that was the fact that it took over as the default text messenger as well. However, we can still use AT&T's VVM app.
Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.att.mobile.android.vvm
Wow, no YouMail option in the poll? I switched to YouMail back on my S3 when I was running a ROM that wouldn't work with AT&T VVM and it's all I've ever used since on any phone and any rom, stock or custom.
I haven't touched You mail in ages. Signed up for it but my provider at the time didn't allow free forwarding to an out of area zip. Not sure I can modify the poll, but I'll check.

No worries. I'm just surprised more people don't use it. The customization (personlized greetings, etc.) is really nice.
