I connected my diamond via USB to the computer, I set it to use as a drive. There was a rush and I had to disconnect the USB cable without first stopping it. Now the directory "Internal Storage" has only backup files, and there's another directory called "Internal Storage2" which has the data originally in "Internal Storage". How do I fix this?
Thanks
Check to make sure the files under Internal Storage aren't important, then delete it and soft reset. Should fix it, I think.
thanks for the reply, but when i try to delete it give an error saying sharing violation. any thoughts?
thanks
nvm it works, I renamed "Internal Storage" to something else, then softreset. it didn't let me delete b/c of files used for IE.

Hi folks,
i have my new diamond a view hours and i configurated ALL my programms on storage card to work with the name "speicherkarte" (as i use a german device).
so i want to change the name of the internal storage of diamond from "interner speicher" to "speicherkarte".
is this possible?
my old reg keys to change the name of storagecard do not work....
any ideas
TRy doing it through schaps advanced config...have a look on XDA for it. You might be able to do it through there.
sktools
thanks for this hint.
i did it with SK-tools, (http://s-k-tools.com)
is also possible!
Hi there!
i thought this question might be right in this thread ...
first day with the diamond, and the first strange things occure ...
After disconnecting my Diamond from the usb slot my internal storage is renamed to internal storage 2, is there any way to change it back to internal storage ? maybe this can be solved with sk tools or schaps config? did not find the right functions until now
i tried to move the folder with totalcommander but the files can't be moved :/
can somebody help?
when after reboot the "internal storage" ist renamed with a number then a folder with the same name existed BEVOR reboot.
when you move everything OUT of this folder and DELETE it your "internal storage" will be named right....
thats is a security function to prevent data loss when a folder with same name exists as internal memory is named in ROM!
NOTE: I FIXED MY PROBLEM MYSELF. I kept the thread in case anyone else has this problem, you might know the fix....explained under the quote (quote = original post)
Out of nowhere my kaiser errors now on startup (with startup apps or if I manually try to open them from programs folder) saying it cannot open any of the programs located on the memory card (says "either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found"). My ringtones on the card won't play and the error states they may be corrupt or unavailable.
So basically, all of the files are there...the phone "lists" them in file explorer....it just wont open anything (including when I click on files in file explorer....it doesnt do anything...just highlights them). It will open programs and files off the device's main storage just fine.
I have removed the card and placed it in a reader, and the card is just fine....all files open perfectly.
Has anyone else had this problem? I have never damaged the phone or got it wet or anything.
It made me late to work because the alarm (appointment in calender) didn't go off (error'd on playing the tone). I really need to get this fix.
Thanks a million in advance!

What had happened is that I have inbox tmp files or something pointed to save on the memory card....but at some point yesterday the memory card was ejected slightly in the port (so the phone counldnt save to it) and I must have received a message or something because it saved to that directory. Since the card was not there, it created a folder named "Storage Card"...thus when I found my card ejected, and clicked it back in yesterday, it named the card Storage Card 2....since a directory already had the orig name. Thus....since all programs and ringtones and such look at "Storage Card" .....all heck broke loose. I deleted the folder and re-inserted the card and did a soft restart...and everything was back to normal.
Thank you for your post.. I jsut had the EXACT same problem... and deleting "Storage card" folder and soft reset fixed mine as well.. whew...!1! Thansk for saving my tail!
Ok, so I've been have problems putting any update.zip into the correct folder on my captivate. I don't see an internal_sd folder anywhere!!! I see an external_sd folder, along with a hidden "sd" folder. Am I a moron? Can someone help?
I always get the error when trying to reinstall packages that says something about verification.
Your internal card is the folder that is mounted by Windows when you plug your usb cable and click Mount. Drop your update.zip in that spot.
By default it's the /sdcard.

So it's not an actual folder you see when you mount? I see all the other folders, DCIM, external_sd, etc... but no internal_sd folder. So it's just the root folder, with all the other folders under that? That's what I originally thought, but I kept getting the verification or no mnt/internal_sd/update.zip error.

So from what every thread says, the correct place to put the update.zip when using windows is in the hidden "sd" folder under the main root?
No. When you mount your phone to the pc, assuming you have windows, it will detect it then add a Drive letter under Computer. When you double click the drive letter representing your phone, you are viewing the Internal SDcard. That is where you put an update.zip. You will also see DCIM, Android, download, LOST.DIR, etc.

haha this is what I thought initially.. it's the root of the SD... maybe I just had a bad file or something. I'll give it a shot, tonight.
Hope someone can help me. Today I just flashed the Rock Rom, and once I am done, I connect the USB cable to my desktop. This is what I usually do with the stock ROM, on the phone I slide the menu bar and click on USB Connect..etc. Once I click it, my explorer will pop up with L: M: directories. One is my ext MicroSD and one is frome the phone, I can see that internal SD folder.
But with this Rock Rom, once I connect to the USB, It saids MTP Connected (what does that mean)? And on my explorer, all I see is the N7000 icon. Inside that it has phone and card folder. But look through both of them, I still can't find my internal sd built in to the phone.
With Stock ROM I got no problem with that. It will say "USB connected" Select to copy files to/from your computer.
If I tab that , I can click on "connect to USB Storage:.
Is there something I need to enable ? How do I change it ?
Really hope some expert can assist me.
Found the problem. For some reason the debug mode is checked.
I've had a Chromecast with Google TV for about a week. I added a usb stick for added memory . I'm in developer mode and have unknown sources on. Using the X-plore file manager, I sideloaded games with obb files onto the drive with no problem. However, a few days later, the Chromecast got laggy (unrelated I hope) and I had to do a factory reset. Since then, X-plore will not show the USB drive if I'm using the USB stick as device storage. I'm pretty sure that was the way I had the stick formatted before. When the stick is formatted for external storage, I can't transfer data to it. When it's formatted as device storage, it's not recognized on the file manager. Also, the file manager won't allow for an obb folder. I get a msg saying it's not allowed.
How did I screw this up? Please help :fingers-crossed:
Thanks from a confused noob

Yup.
I think I figured it out last night. After I factory rebooted it, I didn't change some of the storage permissions on the apps .
Can't seem to get passed read only error with x-plore. Do I need to format to fat32 and how. PC is old and only gives me option for exfat and ntsf. Thanks in advance
