Calendar, email and SMS show wrong time - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having issue with my Diamond 2 running OS and ROM:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.21041 (Build 21042.1.6.1)
ROM 1.39.405.2 (47382) WWE
The issue is that calendar, email and SMS show wrong time on the phone. For example if I create a meeting in Outlook (note that I sync with my company Microsoft Exchange Server 2007) starting at 16:00 it shows in my Diamond 2 starting at 17:00. When someone sends me email at 12:30 it shows the time 13:30 in my Diamond 2 but 12:30 in my Outlook and Web email. Same goes with the SMS’s. The clock on the Diamond 2 is set the same as on my PC and on the Exchange Server. As I live in Iceland I set the time zone on the Diamond 2 to GMT Casablanca (there is no day light saving in Iceland, always GMT 0) and my PC and Exchange server are set to GMT Monrovia, Reykjavik (it is same as GMT Casablanca). The “Automatic change time zone and clock” option on the Diamond 2 is not selected. I have gone through several options changes on the phone and time zone changes in Outlook but the issue still remains. I have gone through the directions on this Microsoft page, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/daylight-savings-update.mspx, and installed the KB949168 patch but with no luck.
I have also the first Diamond phone running OS and ROM:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.20764 (Build 20764.1.4.3)
ROM 2.03.401.3 WWE
…. and these issues did not occur on the old Diamond. Therefore I decided to do a test en the old one and installed this OS and ROM:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.21042 (Build 21042.1.6.1)
ROM 2.04.73.1 WWE
…. and running this OS and ROM the old Diamond got the same time issues as the Diamond 2 so I would expect that this has to do with some software errors that are in the newer OS and ROM builds.
I have also another issue which has to do with the UI HTC has build in Touch Flow to change time zones (World Clock). When I chose Reykavik in this UI the time zone in the OS is changed from GMT Casablanca to GMT London, Dublin which is wrong because UK and Ireland use DTS and Iceland does not.
Can anyone help me with these issues?
Thanks,
Jon

I'm using stock rom on the Diamond 2

Hi
You need be careful with appointments as Windows Mobile does have a habit of adjusting the time, I asssume either because of daylight saving or some confusion over time zones.
I turned up 1 hour late for an appointment over the clocks changing as what was set for 9am became 10am!
Have you checked under regional settings that it is set for the right region, and under the clock settings it is the correct time zone?
Regards
Phil

Yes I know that DTS have been a problem in Windows Mobile in the past but as I’m using GMT Casablanca as time zone so there should not be any adjustments for daylight saving because this time zone is always on GMT 0 time. Regional settings are set to Iceland so that should not be a problem and best of my knowledge regional settings do not affect the time zone settings.
Another point is that the clock on the phone does not change and it shows the same time as on my PC end Exchange Server. Only the time on my appointments, emails and SMS are off by one hour showing the events as they should occur hour later than they should.
The strange thing is that this issue does not occur in some older OS builds. As I tested my old Diamond with stock ROM using the OS 5.2 build 20764.1.4.3 there were no issues but when I switch to ROM using OS 5.2 build 21042.1.6.1 (same as on the Diamond 2) the problem starts.

Jón

SUMMITER: Cingular Rom Help

Summiter, I reflashed for the 4th time and am still having the problem so here goes:
I flashed using the newest rom thatyou listed in your other post.
Rom Version: 2.17.7.2 WWE
Rom Date: 2/10/06
Radio Version: 02.07.10
Protocol Version: 413.1.03
Programs installed:
Splashdata SplashBlog for PocketPC
My Company PPCDJ
TranCreative Magic Button
Agilemobile.com Agile Messanger
Resco Registry Add-in
Resco FTP Add-in
Resco Explorer 2003
Zoki A2DP
FdcSoft PPCContactsMgr
ammar Wireless Today Plugin
Smartskey
This is what happens:
When my phone comes back from standby or even at random times, but specifically standby, If i press the mail button, the title bar appears along with the softkeys changing as if it opened up the messaging application. However the background is still the today screen or whatever was under it. If i exit out of it through magic button or smartskey it goes away then i can hit it again and it comes back.
I have set up cingular ispda and gmail, i havent done any registry hacks. This is far less than what ive run the last few times this has happened.
It's annoying but i can live with it if you tell me i have to. Thanks for your help with all this.
I can almost guarantee it is being caused by one of the programs you have installed. This doesn't sound like a ROM issue.
I can go one step further. I have had this occur on every ROM I have used. If memory serves it was the most infrequent on the imate 2.16 ROM. From your list we only have the 2.17 ExtROM and Resco in common, but I don't think either of those cause this. Unfortunately, I don't think any ROM flash will eliminate it completely.
actually the software loaded is all different for this reflash. i didnt use any of these the last flash.
i have the same probl;em with my my mail button...the title bar changes and the today screen stays the same...it bothered me at first but i just tap onthe messages tab on the today screen and it takes me to my messages, i dont even notice anymore.
n
Uninstall the Ammar Today Screen app and see if that changes things.
S
The same thing happens to me. I'm running the latest summiter rom, and I just got the motorola stereo bluetooth headphones and the a2dp works flawlessly and the device is stable, but the mail button gives me title bar and softkeys but I still see Today screen. If I tap the mail line on the screen all is well. I have spb pocket plus, pocket weather, smartskeys, memmaid, quotrek, netfront 3.3 trial.
i removed ammar and it still happens.
Also my calls disconnect after 5 minutes and my ring tone stutters and doesnt vibrate when i get a call in standby.

Newbie Questions For Diamond User...

Hi All
Just moved to a Diamond from a TYTN 1 running an older version of Windows Mobile (4 or 5 I think)
It took me a while to set this device up how I liked it and now I need to do the same for my shiny new Diamond - and now I have the added complication of this Touch Flow thingy!
My first 2 hurdles are:
1 - For my TYTN 1 I needed to instal an App called "CONTACT FIX" to make all my contacts in my device show in Alphabetical order (First Name first)
I have just sync'd my Diamond and I have similar problem - my first 10 or contacts start with a "-" (Hyphen) rather than the first name, others that contain hyphens show perfectly! , some don't make sense at all, and others show perfectly
Is there a fix for this? a version of "CONTACT FIX" for WM6.1? or will my old WM version work with WM6.1
2 - On my old device I was able to display my calendar on the "homepage" of the phone so I could see the day's appointments at a glance - is there a similar app for WM6.1? - or do older apps all work with WM6.1
I have been reluctant to give them a go for fear of mucking up my new toy
Any advice would be very welcome!

Calendar sync slow - "Processing" message

Dear Community,
I received an used Kaiser recently with WM6.1 on it. It was running pretty decently but the following issue cropped up: when syncing with Windows Mobile Device Center, every type of PIM goes rapidly, but Calendar sync is odiously slow - it downloads 100 appointments onto the device, writes them into the pim database, then displays the "Processing" message for minutes on end without apparent progress. It eventually finishes but this is unacceptable.
Since then, I learned about Kaiser flashing, updated it to the newest 6.1 ROM. Then Schaps 4.31 lite ROM. Then to the latest WM 6.0 ROM with a download link on xda wiki. Tried it on another PC (with Windows 7 beta on it). Tried syncing with a machine and with an Exchange Server directly. Tried "Advanced USB Functionality". The result didn't change at all - it's a tad faster on WM6.0 but still ghastly slow.
Then, I tried many other apps, like PocketMirror (crashes on desktop PC) and other (dysfunctional) sync software. Searched Google for hours on end. No solution. I'm tearing my hair out - this "productivity" device cost me about 15 work hours so far - kudos HTC, kudos ActiveSync!
Any suggestions? Does somebody else have this problem too, or am I accursed? My previous iPaq with WM2003 ran smooth like silk.
Thanks,
Balint

when tryed mtty internal storage install crashed...al went ok but after flash phonedid not start... maybe wrong method...not interested in flashing again
sorry for the problems you both recieved
Fox rom had alot of success over at ppcgeeks and i have noticed that the more the file is accessed on that particular server the less likely for it to be stable due to what ever the people at mega upload are doing. also I have decided to discontinue fox as i have upgraded to a touch pro2. Fox will be wvga only now do to the fact i no longer have the device to test. also i was the only beta tester for these roms. thank you for understanding and enjoy it if it works for you!
