Yes Im a noob, trying to learn. Ive learned the hard way on somethings and Ive had to reinstall the T-Mobile rom 2-3 times already on messing up. When you open the "Start" button you have your programs from the "Menus" in the "Settings" you choose what shortcuts you want here. Then theres the line and I have a bunch of program icons and then another line and then "Programs, "Settings. How do you get rid of those icons or shortcuts in between the lines?
Thanks, I searched but couldnt find an answer please inform me.
it sounds to me, like you're trying to clear out the recently used programs list. If that's what you're talking about ... install this cab.
Err I ah cant figure out how to install this file Im still looking unless you just want to throw me a bone.
Wow, you are a newbie! It's a cab file. Download it on your device, locate it with file explorer, click it so it installs. Look in your program folder, find the program, run it.
Yea right after I got put that post up I had to leave for work. I knew that I had it on the phone and found it at work. Is there any way to keep the "recent folder" empty even after running a couple of programs other then running the cab to clear it out again?
Thanks for the replys though.
if you use quick menu it will hide recent programs in a seperate sub menu.
Introduction: I have searched an answer to my question both in xda-developers, in SE Xperia X1 forum and in wkTask manual.
Questions:
#1: is there a way to have wkTask always on top/in front of WM today screen?
#2: is there a way to add to the laucher other links other than those on Start menu? (to make it simple: how can I add to the launcher links that are in Settings folder? I neither can find them on my PDA)
Thanks to you all, as always!
P.S.: great program wkTask... would suggest to cook it into Jack's lite Rom, using it I can almost use no panels at all!
you've lost me on number 1 im afraid, what do you mean wktask is always showing on my topbar
Ive used WkTask since way back in all my devices, but now with X1 I felt it was causing problems... Some weird crashes and I switched to P +'s task manager... WkTask is great but now I just learned to live with other tools.
that's odd, I found quickmenu causing some issues, not wktask
I stopped using it so long ago that I can remeber exactly what were the problems, but there were some crashes and whatnot..
I use Wktask as well, just not the quickmenu it has. Works like a charm for me!
Works fine on my X1 as well!

#1 is: can I get the wk launcher always on top? actually, I can get it after a vertical move. I would want it to be always on top, but just on today screen.
#2 no answer?! :-( bad for me...

what you want from 1 still isn't too clear, I think it might be a translation problem
You're saying you want it always on top just on the today screen. Which is a contradiction..
I'm presuming that means you only want it active on the today screen, if so then I think the answers no as that's not what Wktask is about..
You can get it to disappear on the today screen by checking the tickbox "hide the task-list when there are no tasks"
I tend to hide always START (manilla-tf3d) and activesync
2) yes but it's not that easy. control panel items are .cpl some are .dll and others are .exe will start normally some wont.
They should all be in windows.

#2 solved, they actually are in windows folder, but I needed to tick the "show all files" option under menu. Then, copy the exact name and insert it manually on the launcher.
However, the name of the .exe, .dll, .*** it is not the one shown on the settings panel
#1 I'll try to explain myself. In Windows (normal one, not mobile) you can have some windows always on top. This mean that the "always on top" window will always stay in front of everything. Now, on WinMo, I really like the wktask launcher. But, it is not always visible on my screen, every time I need to activate it. Is there a way to have it always visible?
Hope I've been able to explain the point, otherwise thanks anyway, I'll survive without this trick, take an English course and come back to explain it

You've made that perfectly clear now ;-)
But I think the answer is no. Maybe ask the author of WKtask if he could implement it as an option?
You do know that you can set the launcher to open by Drawing down with your stylus from the X of wktask?
That's pretty instant on my X1

Yes, I know, and that's what I do every time... but I am so laaazyyy
Could you share where you got your working .cab? I got mine off http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html but it now shows a gray-white bar across the entire top a couple pixels down.

yep thats correct, its the battery level
first time i used it i hated that, but now i find it indispensible
you can turn it off in the preferences - general2 tab
question for the one who use wktask with their xperia: The OK button (not the OK from WM, the OK touch in the right bottom corner) does not close the program but hide it when wktask is launched. Is it a bug or something expected ? If it is not a bug, how is it possible to close any program by pushing the OK key, as a default behavior ? any idea ???
Launcher settings backup

Go to the preferences menu of wktask. Tap on the 'Actions' tab, and you can set preferences for the OK button.
WKtask works great on my xperia. I don't use the launcher at all, but I wouldn't know how to function without the task manager.
WKTask Launcher settings Backup
Here is answer from directly from maker of WKTAsk:
The settings of WkTASK are written in registry.
So you can backup them by using "PHM Registry Editor".
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
Backup steps
1. Open \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\waku\WkTASK.
2. Tap&hold WkTASK folder icon
3. Select "Export" and input file name
Regards,
waku
I use for this not PHM Registry Editor, but Total Commander, and without problem. In new phone/install only copy the WkTask.reg into registry and softreset. It´s easy
Is the a New WkTask for WM 6.5 ?
I have Att Tilt2
Right now, the only way to list ALL programs is to tap on your start button, then tap on "all programs" below.
However, I feel more comfortable with the old windows programs list with 3-4 rows of icons. How can I get that back without removing the TF3D2 start menu?
Perhaps someone knows a shortcut to it?
Perhaps a shortcut to the windows settings page would be useful too.
Thanks!
hi..
u can try this it is a program that will give u the classical start menu ( like older version of WM) and will put the program icon on the lower task in the manilla theme>> so u can get the advantage of both..
wish u like it

Thanks for yr reply, but I've come across this before.
The thing is, I want to retain HTC's new start menu, at the same time have a shortcut to WM programs list.

I'm really sorry, if this subject is already in the forum. I used search, and did not find anything that helps me.
I wonder if there is a way to make quick-launch-icons to desktop? Many programs like TomTom make the icon, when you install the program. But if I have some other program already installed, can I somehow make a shortcut for it? I want to speed up things, so I don't want to pick up the program from start-menu.
Here is a program you can use to add many programs to today screen.
Eazy Today Launcher
Thank you very much, that works like a dream !
Happpy to help
Windows bottom menu tabs.
I would be grateful if COOKS could put a little more though into what tabs are placed at the bottom as I dont think these can be changed.
For instance, why put a phone button on there?, why a WIFI button, contacts, etc when these are already duplicated in other screen menus.
Of course this can be subjective but a little more thought could make a good ROM a great one.
For me the most useful tabs are, task manager, programs and menu.
Please note that I do appreicate all the hard work that is done on these ROMS, all of which done free of charge, I hope this thread doesnt sound ungrateful, it isnt meant to.
It is very easy to change if you don't like the one that is there...
really, I have never found an "easy" way without hacking the ROM, it there setting somewhere that doesnt require reg hacks?
in his topix ROM, kwbr has included Softkey Manager to change the button setting...
P/S: not sure if this works for those WM 6.5.x ROMs (just in case you are) but i been using this to change the softkeys...

did you use our dear search function? of course they can be modified, tell me any tweak program that CANNOT do this - as well as editing it on your own isn't too hard ...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila, there HomeLSKPath, Text, same for RSK
Search is your answer. These can be changed easily....see posts above
