I've installed Advanced Config on my HTC Touch Pro (WM6.1) and have set it up to auto lock after 25 seconds, which works fine. The problem, however, is that whenever it locks, the backlight is set to dim and it will not budge from there, unless I go into Windows' settings and manually readjust it up again. Then 25 seconds later, it locks and I'm back to square one. The only way I can get the default behaviour back again is doing a complete reset (i.e. clear storage to remove everything) and reinstall - but then I can't use autolock. I've tried the other backlight settings in Advanced Config and fiddling with every other Windows backlight setting I can find, but no joy.
Can anyone assist?
do a search for "dimbklinunlock" and see if that cab file fixes it for you.
Some have luck with it, but not mine. When mine dims, the only way to brighten it back up is to tap the on/off button.
Thanks, I tried that, but I can't find it anywhere (Google / Bing etc. also don't find it). Do you possibly have a link to the file? Unfortunately, the on/off routine doesn't work for me either.
What I really wanted from Advanced Config was the ability to Auto Keylock, but that causes the backlight problem. I've tried the application from Maniac, but that doesn't seem to work (probably because of the touchscreen; it works great on my old iMate SPJAS.
So, if anyone knows a way to get Auto Keylock to work using another application I can then just use Advanced Config for other functions.
Have you tried S2U2?

Is there a program to keep my screen active when i am using a 3rd party GPS program? with TomTom it keeps staying active, but with for instance GPS Performance, it will go inactive after a while, and then my screen turns off..
Can't help you with that, my only idea is set the "screen turn off if not used for x min" to lots of minutes before entering app, and set it back after you exit the app
yeah, but that is a crappy way..
Unless I'm mistaken, MortScript is free. Install that and write a script to:
1. Change backlight setting.
2. Launch GPS Performance.
3. Change one of the hardware keys to execute the application's exit routine (if it's not simply hiting "X" in the corner - some aren't).
4. Reset the backlight settings.
After installing Pocket controller an icon is place in today screen to change settings. The problem is I cannot access the settings dialog where there is the option of removing that icon. When I tap on it nothing happens.
Also there is created an acess to program settings in settings menu, but occurs the same, when tapping on it nothing happens.
The program works fine except of this. I want to remove that icon because it ocuppies one complete line of today screen. I've tried looking in registry but did not find any string or value to hide that icon. Tested with pocket controller pro versions 6.01, 6.0, 5,7... and always the same.
I had the same problem so I started using My Mobiler. It's free and does the job.

Any other solution apart from roming? Maybe a registry edit?
Here is a Regfile to switch the Trayicon off.

It worked!!!!
The strings added were
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\SOTI\PocketController]
"enabletray"="OFF"
"KioskAdmin"="0"
"Log"="0"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\SOTI\PocketController\Video]
"enabletray"="OFF"
"Install"="\\Windows"
"Log"="0"
Now one only issue to be solved. When tapping pocket controller in settings menu nothing happens and you cannot access to progrma options.
Hey folks. I found a 'Transformers Sound' for sliding the keyboard. i installed the cab and had this sound. but i dind't like it that much and deinstalled it again. but since then i do not have any sliding sound anymore. I look in settings and all options are turned on. So there is no reason to not function.
Maybe someone can help.
Thx.
maybe try to install it again, and then manually change the sound under settings?
still no change. Doesn't work. Thx though for the tip.
I figured that when the phone is in standby (screen etc. turned off) and i slide the keyboard then the sound is there but as soon as the monitor is on the sounds doesn't come anymore. I am at a loss.
Someone an other idea?
I just posted a thread with a link to the app you need to install to alter the settings so you do not have use the cab method.
i tried the app and it did nothing (for me ).
So i still have the issue that the sound isn't played when openening the keyboard when the screen is turned on.
i think you neeed to change some registry settings. i remember a few threads about changing slider sounds (same applies to tytn 2)
There doesn't seem to be a manual screen orientation choice (landscape or portrait) in screen settings, there's just the auto orientation for certain applications when you turn it sideways. Sorry to keep harping on about my other phone, but as comparison, that does indeed have this feature, and I can change it back and forth from the today screen in a split second. This works well with things like tomtom if I want it in landscape for a larger and wider view, or generally if I want to view ANYTHING on the phone in landscape mode. So, unless someone can tell me if this feature is somewhere to be found on the phone, I was wondering, does it allow auto landscape mode for sat nav apps when you turn it sideways?
Auto orientation...
Use this application - by far the best auto otientation tool available for the Diamond. You can set it up to rotate every app not in the exception list, or only the apps in the exception list. Check it out
Or to change manually, install Advanced Config (you'll find it in the Themes, Applications & Software forum) - you can set it to show the orientation settings on your device.

Wow, flipping brilliant, it works really well!
There's several parameters but all I did was tick 3 orientation picture boxes in the Default 'My device should rotate these directions by default (non exceptions)' I've also ticked a box to make it give a short vibration just before rotation, and a tick for changescreen toggle in programs list.
Thanks, that's made me happier, works nicely with everything now including tomtom.
cheers for pointing me at that app, it rules, think I'll send the coder some pp money
Hi, I’ve been searching around now for a while on xda trying to find an application like e.g. smartlight which automatically keeps the backlight turned on when running specific programs e.g. like using gps navigation. Some programs like iGo 8 and garmin let you override the backlight to always on, but while using other navigation programs the backlight keeps on fading and eventually turning off if there’s no interaction with the phone Unluckily, smartlight is not compatible with HTC devices running on wm6.1 ..like diamond..
I’m using lumos now, but there seems to be no option for keeping the backlight on for specific apps (only for setting the backlight brightness). I don’t want to keep going to settings > backlight on / off every time I use my gps software…
Is there an app in which we can configure which programs need to run with backlight always on and which not??
Please help, thanks!!
Try Glight:

Works like a charm
After all these hours searching I thought g-light was the same with lumos, so I never tried it.. The magic "always on" button in the exceptions menu made all the difference.
Thanks a lot!!
