Sliding sound is gone. - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Hey folks. I found a 'Transformers Sound' for sliding the keyboard. i installed the cab and had this sound. but i dind't like it that much and deinstalled it again. but since then i do not have any sliding sound anymore. I look in settings and all options are turned on. So there is no reason to not function.
Maybe someone can help.
Thx.

maybe try to install it again, and then manually change the sound under settings?

still no change. Doesn't work. Thx though for the tip.

I figured that when the phone is in standby (screen etc. turned off) and i slide the keyboard then the sound is there but as soon as the monitor is on the sounds doesn't come anymore. I am at a loss.
Someone an other idea?

I just posted a thread with a link to the app you need to install to alter the settings so you do not have use the cab method.

i tried the app and it did nothing (for me ).
So i still have the issue that the sound isn't played when openening the keyboard when the screen is turned on.

i think you neeed to change some registry settings. i remember a few threads about changing slider sounds (same applies to tytn 2)

Advanced config / backlight issue

I've installed Advanced Config on my HTC Touch Pro (WM6.1) and have set it up to auto lock after 25 seconds, which works fine. The problem, however, is that whenever it locks, the backlight is set to dim and it will not budge from there, unless I go into Windows' settings and manually readjust it up again. Then 25 seconds later, it locks and I'm back to square one. The only way I can get the default behaviour back again is doing a complete reset (i.e. clear storage to remove everything) and reinstall - but then I can't use autolock. I've tried the other backlight settings in Advanced Config and fiddling with every other Windows backlight setting I can find, but no joy.
Can anyone assist?
do a search for "dimbklinunlock" and see if that cab file fixes it for you.
Some have luck with it, but not mine. When mine dims, the only way to brighten it back up is to tap the on/off button.
Thanks, I tried that, but I can't find it anywhere (Google / Bing etc. also don't find it). Do you possibly have a link to the file? Unfortunately, the on/off routine doesn't work for me either.
What I really wanted from Advanced Config was the ability to Auto Keylock, but that causes the backlight problem. I've tried the application from Maniac, but that doesn't seem to work (probably because of the touchscreen; it works great on my old iMate SPJAS.
So, if anyone knows a way to get Auto Keylock to work using another application I can then just use Advanced Config for other functions.
Have you tried S2U2?

[Q] Auto brightness setting disappeared??

Always have had auto brightness on, it works for me.
But, after adding the 'power' widget to the homescreen (which can control brightness settings) and fooling with the brightness a few times, i decided i wanted it set back to auto.
Went into the menus, and there is no tick box for auto anymore, in the brightness setting. Just the slider.
Took the widget off the homescreen, no change. Rebooted, still no change.
What gives?? Anyone else have this happen?
Bell Vibrant
rooted/JM5/launcherpro
EDIT: Solved problem. Was the LCD density, i guess it squashed the box and hid the setting.
the widgets on screens, usually cycles through the different modes
just keep cycling until you get it back
or simply go into Settings > Display > Brightness (make sure check mark is green)
That's the thing though - there is no check box anymore!!
Very curious as to how a system setting could just disappear like that.
Settings - display - brightness and there it is just above the slider on the lrft ?
Is here for me and I also have the brightness widget.

i think it might be JM5 firmware you are using
i'm using the official JH2
I can't help with the problem, but I can say that I'm running JM5 and have the "Automatic brightness adjustment" checkbox in the "Sound and display" settings.

wow, that makes it even more weird and intriguing....
how did the [OP] managed to lose that check box?
Wish i knew. And i want it back! Pretty sure all i did was add the 'power' widget, play with it for a bit, and it was gone.
I am quite certain it was working right after the JM5 flash, although to be completely honest i did not actually check. If it wasn't working i think i would have noticed rather quickly, its pretty obvious when its doing its job.
Added screenshots for the skeptics.
i'm not skeptic, i just can't figure out how can it has dissapeared on its own, yet i can't figure out which software could do something like that.
seems like worse case scenario is to reflash the ROM again to get it back
Was it there after you changed your font? Try the stock one.
Alright, i figured it out. Might add this over in the pertinent thread, too.
It was the LCD density setting. I guess it squashed the box down so much that the check box was entirely hidden! Man, what an odd problem.
Thanks for the help!
Wow, thanks for sharing
this is something worth being Noted on the Wiki
anyone got time to make an entry?
No problem, i'd add it myself if i knew where to put it...?
Thanks for posting the solution! I ran into the same problem and i was perplexed as to what happened.

Samsung keypad vibration && browser brightness

After installing the froyo rom, there are two things that still annoy me, and I don't know if I can change them:
1) I like the look of the Samsung keypad, but there doesn't appear to be a way to disable to "haptic feedback" vibration when keys are pressed. The haptic feedback in the settings will disable feedback for the soft keys as well (which I don't want to do). Is there a workaround?
2) It really bothers me that the browser has its own brightness setting, so that it gets out of sync with the system brightness setting. Is there any way to disable the browser-specific brightness setting?
Thanks!

we should really keep these issues in a consolidated thread.. otherwise this could get out of hand.. I know there are a few posts that already discusss some of these issues..
I was disappointed at the Samsung Keyboard in the froyo build too. more importantly I could not find a way to turn off the key click sound. With the lack of the stock android keyboard I installed AnySoftKeyboard from the market. Seems to fit the bill for me.
My browser has the brightness setting, but so did the eclair build. For me it still follows the global brightness setting, dimming according to ambient light. I haven't touched that setting in the browser, it has been this way by default.

[Q] Several applications to make life easy

Hello,
I searched the forums trying to find answers for several problems, and unfortunately get no answers...
I migrated to Android from WinMo knowing that it has lots of apps, but unfortunately - found nothing that fix the issue.
1. I'm using Bluetooth headset. After pairing the headset I disabled of "MEDIA" (in Bluetooth settings -> Bluetooth headset -> options -> Media (uncheck)
This, to make my Bluetooth operates during a call only... And not to sound any other system sounds.
Unfortunately - after turning on/off bluetooth option in the phone, this "MEDIA" function becomes automaticaly "enabled"...
[Q1] How to make it disabled for all the time?
2. The unsolved problem with screen lock during the call, specially during Bluetooth call... The screen is not locked by default. And if the phone is in pocket, 100% something will be pressed.
[Q2] Does anyone knows the right app to configure the lock-screen behavior and dependencies?
3. HTC Sense 2.1
[Q3] How to disable clock flip?
[Q4] How to disable weather animation?
Thanks.
my friend , just go there , you might find an answer ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951

Grab your flipclock and delete it. Than place a news clockwidget on your homescreen and you can select oder deselect the weatheranimation.

Hey guys
Today I updated to Android 9. Nothing to complain except this 1 annoying button.
This 1 forces the phone into the landscape mode and I can't find the setting to disable it.
There is also no way to drag of somewhere else. Also no notification or similar
Any suggestions?
It's because you have gestures enabled. There's no way to disable it afaik.
Button is nothing but annoying

I also have this button and it's beyond annoying and covers up part of my keyboard. There's got to be a way or an app that gets rid of this thing for those of us who don't want it.
