I'm having a nightmare with my phone answering itself in my pocket. I really need the 'slide to answer' feature that was included in the latest HTC ROM revision. The trouble is Orange don't support ROM updates or fixes because they're crap and HTC won't give me the update because I have an Orange phone - funny that, I'm sure it says HTC on the front.
My current setup:
ROM version 1.93.405.1 WWE dated 08/06/2008
Radio Version: 1.00.25.05
Protocol version: 52.29.25.12H
Would someone please help and simply package everything I need to upgrade my phone (possibly unlock it too, only because I understand that's necessary) to the latest ROM version with the 'slide to answer' feature. I'm not hugely technical and can't find my way when I'm just pointed to various bits and pieces on the internet. I'm also dubious of custom builds and would rather just stick to the HTC revisions.
Thanks,
John

should contain all the info you need
Thank you. I had already been on that link but couldn’t get the official HTC latest ROM version as the link is dead. Also it looked a little daunting but I persevered, found the official HTC ROM version on other site and all is done and working.
Thanks,
John

There is a ROM released for TyTnII by HTC at htc.com? Any body try it yet? How is it different??
Are you talking about the AT&T Tilt rom release?
I can't see anything on the HTC site - where are you looking?
I check it out at HTC e-club (worldwide) update support and nothing for Tytn II.
I think this guy is talking about the AT&T rom update. Got me excited though!!!
i found it on e-club downloading now
Once its here I will upload for you all to check out
The only thing I see on e-club is the BT fix.

Can you please tell us if this is the AT&T rom or real HTC... and even better a download link!
because i had to log on I doubt a link will work (Then I wouldn't have to make anyone wait for me to upload) it seems to be real HTC because u can get it it off of the US (which is 404 for the moment) or Europe FTP and is availiable in WWE or ARA (no clue what that is - arabic?)
Below is the link
http://member.htc.com/member/DownloadAddressforRuu.aspx?dl_id=390&type=Updates&lan=
Version info of the new update is identified as follows:
ROM Version 1.106.405.1 WWE
ROM Date 05/10/07
Radio Version 2.90.90
Protocol Version 4.1.13.42
ExtROM Version 1.06.405.101
These numbers do not make sense to me.
Somebody confirm that this is a new/old ROM please.
here is the numbers on the file
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.32R2_Ship
so the radio seems old thus far
all signs suggest WM6.0
uploading now
EDIT Can be found here, appears to be an old one though.

It's a real AT&T ROM. I flashed it with no problems. It seems more stable, but that might be because it washed out my "experiments." There is also a new version 4.0.0.97 Blackberry Connect. You have to access that with the stub. I'll try to upload the cab later. My employer's firewall seems to be blocking my attempts to upload it now.
does this new rom have better video performance?
So is not a new rom afterall for the generic Kaiser?
Cheers,
Gilbert

No, its a bit more stable and has better bluetooth performance, which i can confirm. There are a few threads about it already in the "Upgrading" section.
I tried to do a search but could not find the solution for not able to sync after rom update. Can connect via usb but won't sync. I know I did see a fix here somewhere but can find it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Ah so this new rom is only the new AT&T rom and nothing else. I got my bubbles steaming for nothing. i will go back to sleep now.

Hi - I have a rom for Tytn II installed which is
version: 1.81.415.4 WWE
Date: 29 Oct 2007
Radio ver: 1.27.15.32
Protocol: 22.51.88.13W
IMEI: 35575701181308201
I planned to update it and on the HTC e-club saw this rom with date as 21st Feb 2008 - which is later than this ROM I have right ? Well, the rom after downloading reflected the name of the same as:
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.32R2_Ship.exe
If I read this it appears that the entire details appear to be older than what I have unless HTC is numbering the roms and newer versions with a decreasing theme.
Can someone tell me which one is new ? I wanted to update my ROM and now not sure where I can get it from ?
Do you have the link to double check?
Incorrect dating on the HTC Tytn II

This is as far as I can capture for the link - I have tried using the Europe, US and Asian FTP links, and they all take me to the same place. I am logging in from the Middle East site of Eclub though
you probably dont have access to the latest rom from your country's htc eclub (or something like that)
i would just download from mirrors posted in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394369
or here:

Problem solved (at least partly)
Hi all - thanks for assisting me on this. I finally figured it out:
What I am using right now is actuall the arabic support rom, which i did not realize since the language by default chosen was english. This is version 1.81.415.4 WWE
The one that I kept downloading from the EMEA site was the english one only, which was number 1.56.405.5
So I guess that it was not incorrect versioning after all. However the only problem now for me is that after downloading the english rom, i landed up getting a message saying it cant install since it is not supported by my device !!! ??? I am enclosing the screenshot with this post in case someone can help me out
So, about a month ago, I got my first cell phone - a moto q global (att). Then, this tuesday, I traded it in for the tilt.
I am very happy with this phone - I love the touch screen, the wifi, the developer base, and all the other nice features (combined with the unlimited data, of course )
Today, I borrowed my dad's laptop (my computer runs gentoo), and hard-spl'd (using the alternative "screen went white" directions) the phone, and flashed the HTC rom from here.
Device information sez:
ROM version: 3.28.405.0 WWE
ROM date: 05/02/08
Radio version: 1.65.16.25
Protocol version: 25.83.40.02H
First of all, did I pick the right rom? Is there a more up-to-date rom? Can someone explain the advantages of dutty's rom?
And I'm hearing a lot about this "radio"... this is the rom for the cellular radio itself? What version should I be using? How do I change versions? From where do I get these radio roms?
Finally, is there an easy way to sim-unlock my phone for free? Not necessary, but would be nice for later.
Thanks for any advice/tips,
poly-p man
Hi Welcome.
Let me nicely answer your questions. But You should read the Forum Rules. Mostly the answer is out there, just need to search for it.
1) I do not allow people to say what ROM is the best. Not because we are fascists, but because it is subjective. Also, "newest" is also subjective. Look around in the ROM Dev forum and find one that looks good and try them out.
2) You Radio is the "ROM" for the Cellular Part. There is an Ultimate Radio thread out there. Check it out.
3) There is a Kaiser Unlocker out there. They are free to use, but consider Donating to the developers.
4) Check out the Links in my Signature they will give you LOTS of answers.

Hello,
sorry for this topic, but I'm new here and not too skilled, so I need a detailed help 'cause I'm getting crazy!!...
Well, I have a p3600 EN version,
WM5,
rom version 1.23.405.2 (dated 2007-03-11),
radio version 1.38.00.11,
ExtVersion 1.23.405.103.
I read everywhere that HTC released rom and radio upgrades which unlock GPS (that I actually don' t see),
so I tried to download the latest official rom version (I still don't know the code, it should be the 1.23.408...) from the HTC download area, but it makes me download ONLY the same rom version that I still have, the 1.23.405.2!!!
I tried to flash it anyway and nothing changed...
That's why the 405.2 may is the latest rom version available for my phone?
Or my phone may have some sort of lock on it's codes so that I can't upgrade anything? it could be possible?
What is the right rom version I should have?
Please help me!!!
thanx in advance
Debby
I own a Dopod D810
ROM version: 1.17.703.3
ROM date: 11/15/06
radio version: 1.24.00.11
protocol version: 32.57.7020.06H
and I was wondering how i could upgrade it from a WM5 to a WM6...
please help...I'm new at this..
please make it as detailed as possible...
thank you!
There's a couple of ways you can do this...
If you're happy to stay with an official Dopod ROM (or HTC as it's now the case) you can just download the upgrade from the HTC site here http://www.htc.com/au/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=43&act=sd&cat=all.
Another option is to have a look in the forums for any of the ROMs currently available...there's quite a few of them on here (I've been using the FInixNOver 3.3 ROM on my d810 for the last year or so and find it pretty good) and they're all slightly different (different preinstalled apps and display graphics and settings, some of them are "lite" versions so they take up less memory, that kind of thing)...the posts will all usually have screen shots as well as pretty detailed info for the ROMs too so you can see what you're getting.
Pretty much all of the ROMs on xda will come with an installer package so they're as easy to upgrade to as the official HTC ROMs too...you basically download the files, open them on your PC that you have the ActiveSync partnership with your phone on, the installer window pops up and you just follow the onscreen instructions - it's pretty simple and I had no problems at all the first time I did it. (if you have any doubts, download the HTC one as from memory the download actually comes with a PDF of the instructions, albeit that they're only half a page long).
I originally used the HTC upgrade, was happy enough with it for a while but then decided on the FInix ROM because of the better interface etc so it's all down to personal preference really. I'd suggest have a look through the forums, see what you think you might like and even try some out (obviously back everything up as a ROM upgrade will completely erase the phone).
Hope that helps...
