The X3 running android is called Rachel i guess.

xperia x2 is running android n codenamed rachel.

Question still not answered. What does Kovsky means? Rhodium, Topaz, Heros, Venus... Still don't know how HTC select their projects. It is a mix of elements, greek mythology...Kovsky just somehow doesn't seems right belonging.
Never thought about it. Maybe Tchaikovsky was too long.

Actually, I hope someone is working on that as well. There's a thread about Android/Linux on the X1, which you can find here.
As you can see a few people have been working on Android 1.0, but can't get it fully functional yet. I hope Android 1.5 with the support for resistive screens will be a new challenge for them.

as u know the android 1.0 works up side down on x1...
It is great to have android beside windows mobile.
Then our device will be 2-in-1, more powerful than it is.
Currently there is another topic for porting google android but as you know, currently it is Closed and It don't work well ( screen is upside-down ( it is not a problem if another things actually work ), touch screen don't work well, buttons not working, wifi etc not working )
We can bring android into our phone together if we seriously work on it as other guys done it on other htc phones.
Hi everyone.I'm really new to this posting, but i have a major problem.I got myself a prototype of the xperia x2.It wasn't working very smooth so i did a hard reset(total wipeout).and now windows mobile 6.5 is working but no camera no nothing,no panels.so the drivers are missing.If anyone has an idea or could help me somehow please do.thank you.
There are no Xperia 2 ROM dumps available yet.
May I ask how you got your prototype?
You may have to go back to the source to get it straightened out.
X2 won't be out too soon, i guess. X1 needed also around 10 months from its announcement to its release.
Well, here in Germany some people think that it will be out with the launch of WM6.5, but this cannot be true. 6.5 comes in October and X2 isn't even listed at Amazon, yet.
I'm using the phone now it's working well,with WM 6.5,only problem is camera working only with a program(camera key not working)but everything(wifi,gps,etc)working.I'm so sorry about the hard reset it had panels and everything.I don't know, guess i'll be waiting until someone dumps a rom that i can usecan't do nothing yet.thank you anyway.AA and Xperia X2 is ok,but battery could be better (this is a prototype) so we'll see if the official version will last longer.

Note: People that have had the X1 prototype have had problem to flash them with final ROM.
Can someone walk this guy through making a ROM dump? I think we would all benefit from this, and maybe even fix some of his issues.
if he sells it to me, i will dump the rom and upload it as soon as possible...

This is not true. I have had 4 different prototypes of X1i and all have updated with offical rom without any problems. I've got one till now (almost one year now).
I know, i know...there has been said soooo much about the possible ROM-update voor X1 from wm 6.1 to wm 6.5....but there is just still is a bit of a bluh-feeling about the xperia not getting a final boost in performance/experience!
Not one person i know woth a x1 is going to buy the x2, and everyone i know with another phone, and everyone i read about on the net is looking at other phones! the X2 is bound to be a huge flop, simply because they (SE) are running behind! Everyone i know is talking about the HD2 woth its huge screen, or the omnia 2 with its huge screen and bright colors...the iphone is still hot with its huge screen, so is the touch pro 2, the hero, and even the Acer is getting ooohs and aaaahs!!!
And sony is coming with the X2? just compare all those hot phones with the xperia 2....not a great comparison IMHO!
N o, what i think what should be done, is to make the X1-fans more happy with their phone than they ever been, make the product really what it should be...skip the X2...and focus an the x3...(wich should be the true X2)
And because SE isn't doing anything right now about that, i would ask everyone who has the most cleanest wm 6.5 rom to link to the right thread, so any of the new(unexperienced) users can find a way to use their phones as they were brand new!

looked around for a x1 update to found some clean roms just dont know if its all worth it am not buying the x2 for all you know when we get the x2 the x3 will be out in afew months

I agree caliban2. For one the X10 mini pro sucks, it has the same specs from phones that came out in 2006 lol. 2. The screen size, resolution and processor are not even the same as the X1??? If porting like this was even possible I would rather have software from the X10, Xperia Play, or Xperia Arc rather than the mini pro. Thanks for the laugh .

yes mango (WP7.5) is available ni update for all WP7 devices
no offense but that's impossible
there is no way our hardware could manage it
just download russels win7 theme
SE already announced that there will be no update for Xperia X1 ... also, WP7 requires much more than X1 can handle and it also need a capacitive touch screen which X1s don't have ... also it needs double the CPU power and more ram ... so, I don't think this would be possible ... I guess they are just some rumors
