Screen display doesn't cover whole screen - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sent my phone in for repair, and it seems that the ROM version was updated. As a result, it seems that the projected display doesn't cover the whole screen. There is a noticeable gap at the bottom and right of the screen. Is there a way to stretch or realign the screen through registry? (I've tried the display align settings, but it doesn't seem to make any difference).

Pictures?
A little gap is on my device as well. At the bottom. But it's almost not noticable.

Not for pictures - but in general.... it's almost as if the display doesn't stretch the full length and width of the screen.

Pressure on the screen

Hey guys, there seems to be something a little irregular with the screen. When I press on the screen anywhere, there is a spot on the screen that appears to be what looks like pressure being exerted on it. Just like how it looks when you press on the LCD screen of a laptop. This happens also when i press on the case at the top on the left side. The spot I am talking about is about 1 in down from the top of the screen and about 1.5cm to the right from the left of the screen. It is not easily seen unless the screen is displaying a very dark background.
There is a membrane over the surface of the screen that will flex as any pressure is applied to the touch screen, both by the pen and by the frame. If you look at it through polarized sunglasses you can see the effect of any pressure quite dramatically. Unless the screen is malfunctioning or there is color distortion, I don't see a problem.

i dont think thats what hes talking about, he makes it sound like whne he touches the screen a "lcd ripple" appears somewhere else on the screen.
Mine does this when i slide hte keyboard, i can see one in the middle, it kinda worries me, especially since my last kaiser's screen broke and i didnt do anything, i just took it out of my pocket and it was like that.

Screen Issues

OK, my tilt is under a month old and have two concerns regarding the screen. When using the slider, at the very top of the fully opened "motion" the screen ripples in the center as if it is being compressed with a finger. It is about half and inch in diameter and repeats if I slide the screen at the top of its fully opened position. Is this normal? It is visible under my solid blue background.
Secondly, under certain lights there is a rainbow effect when the screen is off. This is only noticeable if I have it under the light at specific angles. If I push my finger on the screen it moves as if the two layers of the touch screen are in constant contact with each other and in turn when I push on it, I can manipulate this location. This is visible under the center most part of the screen. I am using the original screen protector provided by ATT.
Just wondering if this is normal, if not, I'm tempted to return it and get a new one under the 30-day policy.
Thanks in advance!
Anyone please?
Ive never noticed anything like that. It sounds to me that there is some space between a few layers of plastic and that is causing diffraction of light which you see as the rainbow affect. If you have the option of replacing it with a new one I would. I mean if I buy something I want it to be in mint condition when I pay for it, not damaged.

Screen Distortion / Ripple

Does anyone else have this problem:
When you're just pressing a bit harder than the usual touch, on the top and bottom Left side bezel, it causes the Screen to ripple (fluid wave effect).
Not even pushing down too hard, just a firmer press than usual. This is easy too see on a darker background, like the default background when the device wakes up and still in locked mode.
Yes I realize it's a LCD screen, plus this Corning glass is thinner, and we're not always pressing it that hard to notice anyway.
But the Right side bezel and other areas are mostly fine,
So I'm wondering if it's a defect on my device or not (the left side being too sensitive)? would this cause further problem in the future? And it could be a concern if I carry the Nexus 7 in the backpack and other items pressing on it.
Other reports on this:

"the display can give a little and cause the LCD to ripple if you really press hard against the screen"

I wonder if I try the Fix on the other thread, taking off the cover, but instead, loosen the screws a bit on the left side, would that help?
Thanks!
Hi,
My device has this too. Mostly on the left side & a little less on the right side but hardly any on the top or bottom.

[Q] What is the "real" screen size for Nexus6?

What is the "real" screen size after minor the on screen soft keys?
Before saying anything "full screen mode", most of the app i use such as browsing, searching, texting etc does not support full screen mode
Even if it supports it, I will turn it off, because the swipe action just slows everything down
The soft key seems very thick, I recon will make the screen less then 5 inch
That's going to be hard to say really. It's got ON SCREEN soft keys so technically the screen size doesnt change since the keys are on the screen. If you mean usuable screen real-estate for anything above the on-screen keys you are looking at MINIMAL and I mean MINIMAL loss. from 5.96" to maybe 5.95" if not even more negligible of a change.
It certainly will take off more than 0.01 inch of the screen
But I'm glad that Nex6 bottom chin is thinner than top chin, making it even after soft key present, which is nice.

you're right, my decimal was off, I don't see it taking more than half an inch off the bottom, but remember, screen size is measured diagonally, so if you take a 1/2" off the bottom, that wont reflect 1:1 in the measured screen size.
EDIT: IF i did my math right we have Diagonal Screen Size of 5.96", Vertical at 5.16" and Horizontal at 2.98"
If you drop the Vertical by .5" down to 4.86" the Diagonal Screen Size changes to 5.53" which keeps us somewhere between 16:9 and 16:10 AR

Vertical artefacts after display change

Story: I have 2 horizontal stripes on my touchscreen, that do not react on touch. The Touchscreen service menu lets me "clean" the touchscreen to show exactly these 2 bars that cannot be touched/touch doesn't react. Hence I decided to change the display (LCD+digitizer, as separating them is to difficult for me)
Now: Phone disassembled to the point, where I can unplug the display on the back, remove it and plug the new one in. Working so far.
Then I try to glue the new display in (display glue tape applied) which means I have to bend the cable a bit to go under the display. Before I push it firmly on the glue I test it again: LCD not working anymore. I see vertical artefacts.
Basically: The boot screen shows the white "SONY" centred on black background. But there are also artefacts from the "SONY" to the top and bottom. Like lines of error pixels with random colors. Not completely solid but visibly exactly where the "SONY" is.
Those lines are not static. They appear where bright objects are and are always top to bottom. Start is similar to this (during run it is not as bad as in the video, for me it is mostly e.g. when the symbols from the launchbar (WIFI, GPS,...) or the battery is shown) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2kBUXdGJtk
This happened to me twice now and I can't figure out, what I could have done wrong. Does anyone knows what happened here and how to avoid it?
