Hi,
I'm looking for a cab that will enable toggling ON/OFF the 3G function.
I'm aware that there are comm managers that do that, but I'm looking for a cab that does only that, just like GPSTOGGLE does for the GPS
Thanks.

What is the difference between what you want and assigning comm manager to # 6 button ( as abusalza does ) and toggling on/off. How much faster do you think a .cab switch is going to do it ?
I just want an ON/OFF function for the 3G, w/o having to pull up the comm manager.
The solution you suggested does not do that.
Further, I can just add a widget to the Today screen in SPB Sell 3 and have exactly the same result....
Try the GPS TOGGLE cab and see the difference.
It's not about speed at all, just "single functionality".
Somebody pointed me to the following solution.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2145594&postcount=371
How can I adapt this to the Tilt? (specifically, I have a \Program Files\Mortscript directory, but what do I do regarding the "vjvolubilis" part?)
Thanks.

I have another one also based on Mortscript & another Vijay555's small stuff called VJOkButt, check my post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3726097&postcount=11171
I'll update that post later on to cover 'How to map the script to a hardware button?'
Basically what you need to do is:
1.Have Mortscript installed.
2.Copy the required VJ app and other stuff (if any, called by the script) to the folder that is described in the .mscr file.
3.Copy the .mscr file to anywhere on your device, AFTER THAT creat a shotcut for the script into \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ folder or its subfolder that you prefered.
4. Then the script will show up in start menu and you can map it into a hardware button from Start >> Settings >> Personal >> Button, or use a button customization software like HButton. Also you can use the shortcut in SPB MS.
Please keep an eye on my abovementioned post, I'll provide more information later on.
Two words:
Nevermind. Wrong solution.

I am sorry if it's a super N00b question... However, I searched high and low (in Google) but can not find any solution yet...
I am using UltimateLaunch and try to create a tab with all control panel applets. I know how to make a shortcut for each applet (instructions here: http://www.ppcsg.com/index.php?showtopic=51882)
, however, they all show up same default icons.
I tried also to add "?/windows/ctlpnl.exe,-5000" inside the .lnk file, however, this trick works only last century (WM2003) and WM6.0 seems use a complete different number/mechanism since I can never guess the number index right!
I tried to use tools mentioned here: http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=176117 but none works for Kaiser. Is there a better tool or way to extract the icon or assign a shortcut with icon? (I know all those icons are stored in ctlpnl.exe, however, how to get the index is the key question)
Or is there a easier way to get out the ctlpnl.exe and use Resource hacker to find the index? (the only way I know of is to download a Rom image and it's hell lot of works!)
Thank in advance!
Here's also a thread about shortcuts, maybe you'll find the answer to your questions there....
This is what I use.
I too have Ultimate Launch. I just create a link to the attached exe. It opens up the setting folder just as WM6 would. Unfortunately the link posted above doesn't have a way to open the settings root (at least not that I saw).
Also included in that zip file are some other useful exe's. I particulaly like wisSystem.exe for seeing quick system info.
Thanks for the link as well as those useful small utilities, I think I can add some more functionality to my Kaiser.
However, since I would like to directly link to the control applet in the UltimateLaunch with a valid icon on the Today screen, I still need a way to get the icon to make it more visual plesant. Right now I am using the "text icon" of UL to get by....
Thanks anyway!

Wisbar Advance Desktop allows that.

Not Free but both of Chirs McKay's programs are WELL worth the 10 bucks each. IMHO
have any of you seen a "data" tab under phone settings? (it terminates any active internet connection when the phone goes into standby.) i had it with one of dutty's older roms but on his two newest roms that "data" tab is not there anymore. do any of you guys know a registry tweak or a program that would bring that tab back? my phone just drains the battery when its connected to the internet without me knowing (to receive email.) i have searched for it on google and all over the wiki but i haven't had any luck with how to enable it. thanks in advanced for your response.
look on the forum for modaco nodata cab
it lets you toggle the available connections

thanks for your help but i found what i was looking for i searched the registry of one on of the roms that had it active and just copy the registry name and value. here it is how to do it in case you are interested: Search for "PhoneSetting" on any registry editor and if the key "ShowPDPPage" is not there add it on as a DWord and set the value to 1. then using the Advanced Config tool scroll all the way until you see GPRS auto attach (under Data Connections) and set it to Disable, if its not disabled the connection will not disconnect even when the phone goes into standby mode.
I've got a little executable task switcher called AltTab that works like its name. It just cycles through the open apps/windows.
However, it didn't come with an installer and I guess this is the reason why it doesn't appear in the list when I try to assign it a button from the control panel.
Where does the Buttons panel/applet get its program list from? The registry? Which entries will I need?
take a look at this thread. i guess there are more threads regarding task swtching. just do some search
That's the thread where I found the app. This thread is not about task switching.
The problem is that the button manager in settings doesn't show the program or have a browse function. So how do I add an app without an installer to the list?
Thanks anyway.
i believe for a program to apear in list of options for button assignment it needs to be
a) a installed program
b) have a shortcut pointing to the program placed in the windows/programs folder.
since option 1 is not viable give option 2 a shot. read about this a while ago so i can be wrong.

I had pondered both of those possibilities, but a) would have required I (learn how to) make an install package and I forgot to follow up on b), but it would completely explain way there are *.lnk files for virtually every program that already exists in the Windows folder (I mean why the redundancy if keeping the Windows folder as small as possible is one of the prime factors in speedier start-up and maintaining a speedy system?)
Note:
I just tried both a shortcut and the actual executable in the windows directory, and even after a soft reset, no results.
i just don't understand. do you have problem with this program only or with button mapping in general?
did you try this:
antihrist said:
extract exe file to your device, create shortcut in start menu and then assign it to some hardware key

meaning:
i extracted exe file in "\Windows" folder. then i created shortcut to that file in "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs". after that i got the program in the list for button assignment.
OK, that worked.
Placing a shortcut in "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\" does make it appear in he list of programs when assigning functions to buttons.
Thank you for your response and assistance.
Good morning. I've read many threads on PTT but things changed in 6.1 and would like to know the following. I’m new to this. I’ve been waiting for the PTT config that is in 6.1 but it allows you to change PTT to everything except what I want. I would like to have the PTT turn on wifi with one push and turn it off with push and hold.
I know there are reg edits for 6.0 but now in 6.1 button six shows up in (buttons and assign program). Is there a list of available programs to assign buttons to in the registry? If so would it now be easier to replace a link in the registry for one of the programs I wouldn't use with the link to turn on wifi found in wireless manager?
I’ve loaded PHM and was wondering if any of the registry editors work from the pc with the phone attached? Can you export the phone’s registry to a file, work on it on your pc and then import or restore it back to the phone. My eyes are getting sore.
Thanks
Frank
Try a pm to hang.tuah, http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=273310. He has it in his ROMeOS ROM. He is also very helpful and kind.
thank you for the link
I sent him my issue and await a response.
This may help
I found a way to get closer to using the PTT button to activate wifi. In 6.1 you’re given the option to assign programs to button 6, the PTT button. Unfortunately Comm. Manager and turn on wifi aren’t options that you can choose.
By messing around I discovered that you can use file explorer and scroll down in Windows until you see the comm. Manager icon. Copy this and go back up to file start menu. Paste Comm. Manager into the start menu. Comm Manager will now show up on the today screen. You can then go to settings, buttons and Comm Manager will now be an available option. You can now also use voice command (start Comm. Manager) While it doesn’t turn on wifi it does allow you to hit the old PTT button and then hit the wheel or ok, or use the voice command.
Okay so I've gotten pretty spoiled now with the voice command on our phones. The one thing I REALLY wish I could do was turn the bluetooth on and off without having to go through all the work to get to the communications manager..(settings tab, then com manager, then bluetooth on or off... then closing it all down)
Is there something out there that is a direct short cut? I little .exe that will either turn bluetooth on if it was run or off if its run again? If not anyone with some skills want to make this happen? That would allow a quick shortcut in our applications tab AND for those of us who use voice command a quick way to turn bluetooth on and off. All we'd have to say is "Start bluetooth" or something. Best I've been able to do is say "Start bluetooth explorer" and it opens the bluetooth explorer...which yes works but I dont want that damn thing to open up AND I cant turn it off that way either.
If there is something out there similar to this I cant find it so maybe post it in this thread.
Thanks everyone!
BTonoff.exe
This is a little .exe that I found here on xda, so don't give me any credit. I looked and cannot for the life of me remember where I found this, so if whoever created sees this, I apologize for not giving credit.
Just put this unzipped .exe in the windows/start menu/programs folder and it will list as a program. You can then link the PTT button if you have a fuze, or to another quick launch program if that is what you are looking to do. I have mine set as an icon on the program launcher, and just click once and turns on BT, click again and turns it off.
If this is what you are looking for you can change from AP Request to AP Found.
This is a link to a cab file that I use called BT Toggle. The CAB file has "EkerB" in the name so I am guessing that is who the credit needs to go to. However I have been unable to find the original link back to the application announcement.

Installs like any other cab file and has worked flawlessly for me. I have my left softkey set to run it.
Here you go. I think, this exefile is made by BuzzLightyear(thank you). You need to write a pareter to commandline(or shortcut) "bsd" to toggle discoverable/off mode. It can also do some different modes using different parameters(which I don't know now).
You can also use this little app and set it to one of your soft keys. I have it seft to my left soft key and it works flawless.
