Can I flash the splash of my Rhodium via Gold Card? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

because there is no Rhodium is the device list menu of the NBHutil, I don't know how to create the splash.NBH. So I can't try it using my GOLD CARD!
Anyone's help will be highly appreciated.

No because you can't sign the NBH file, Goldrcard's still require signed images.
There are plenty of Goldcard thread already, so I'll closed this one.

Flash ROM without Windows?

I am wondering how to flash a Wizard ROM without ActiveSync or Windows.
(I'm using Linux)
According to this post, and this, Wiki article, it is possible with SD cards on other HTC devices.
I tried unpacking RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship_1.exe
But I couldn't unpack it as either a .RAR or a .ZIP file. Trying to un-rar it made it appear empty, and it's obviously not in .ZIP format, either.
I'm sure there's a way to get this to work, but I can't see the next step yet. I'm trying this out on my spare phone(G4 8125), so it's not mission critical at this point.
I want to get it working well so I can update my main phone (G3 8125) as well. I'd really like to finally make the switch to WM6.
You can't do a SD restore unless you get the SD raw dump by others (It is a raw partition, not FAT).
And you can't generate a SD dump using the RUU image either.
And...SD restore is only available for CID-unlocked (NOTE: CID unlock is NOT SIM unlock) G3 devices, it doesn't work for G4 devices.

And how, pray tell, is the RUU compressed? Watching the installer, it unpacks the necessary bits and pieces on the fly.
Have you tried it on a G4? If not, then who has?
Both my G3 & G4 8125's are unlocked (CID unlocked.)
Any help is much appreciated. Thx!
Good project , keep working on it if i have any ideas about it i will post here
RUU and SD are two different methods.
The nbf image in RUU can be extracted to nb0 files, but you can't write the nb0 file directly to SD, nor raw write it because some extra data is added to the raw partition.
Are you sure your G4 is CID-Unlocked? HardSPL and SoftSPL are NOT CID-unlock. You need to pay a website to get a tool for real CID-Unlocking a G4.
The RUU is packed by InstallShield, you can get the nbf file in your TEMP directory when RUU is running.
To be simple, there is NO known way to convert the nbf file directly to SD card for flashing in HTC phones.

In the posts I was referencing, they used a .nbh file that came from the RUU. This simply does not exist in the wizard RUU. Aparently, they have changed the way things in how the RUU's work for the newer devices.

Please give me some credit. I wouldn't be looking at this if I didn't have at least half an idea of what I'm doing.

Thanks, I knew that looking into this would teach me a few things I didn't know.

Yes, but if no one is still willing to bang their head against that wall, we'll never find one.
So, now I've done a couple of things I didn't necessarily want to do:
I've reinstalled PMS Windows - At least I'm using VirtualBox, and not corrupting my actual HDD with it.
And, I'm moving on from my wizards to a T-Mobile Wing. (Couldn't quite resist, seeing as I get it free, and with a $50 rebate on top of that....)
(I'm not yet sure what I'll do with my Wizards yet, but I'll probably keep them around to play with, and possibly try to get Linux and Android on them to see how well that works once it's released.)
Can anybody attach Bootloader file of wizard g4?

Tilt AT&T Splash Screen

I bought this phone of eBay and it came with Windows 6.5 which was an awesome added bonus...
...but it has the Kumara v2 Splash screen on the phone.
Is there anyway to replace the Splash screen w/o having to flash the device.
I am def. not comfortable doing anything like that b/c I know I would BRICK my phone.
Please advise...
Thanks in advance.
you have to flash the image on to it. It really isn't a big deal as long as you read all the steps, like 3 times. Seriously, if it's already unlocked "and it is because it's flashed" it's so freakn simple to do..
In some cases all you do is download what you want, remove sim card and sd, sync the phone, and then run the file you downloaded.

Would these be the steps to follow?
Instructions for flashing custom splash screens on HTC Kaiser:
1. Install HardSPL.
2. Create a BMP file in paint, size must be 240x320, save it as BMP 24bit.
3. Download SplashTool
4. Load your BMP on nb_image_converter (included in SplashTool's zip) and save it as splash.nb
5. Open SplashTool.exe and convert splash.nb to new format.
6. Pack the resulting splash.nb into a NBH file using htc rom tool.
7. Flash your cusotm NBH using CustomRUU.
Yeah but you might already have the hardspl installed.

[Help] please some can convert stok rom into nbh for me?

Hi I lost USB connection with my Blackstone and I can’t flash any ROMs or install HSPL so I can flash from SD card. I try the forum is there any way to hard SPL from SD card or is there any solution to fix USB connection problem? (which after searching the forum I found out there isn’t) so only solution remains send it to repair. But I have a cooked ROM with stock SPL installed; please someone can convert my stock ROM into nbh format so I can flash it from the SD card or teach me how to from stock exe file into nbh remember I can’t dump the rom.
Please help thank a lot.
You can extract the ruu_signed.nbh out of the shipped exe.
You don't need to dump any rom!
Just open the stok/shipped rom with winrar: click with right button on shipped rom and choose open with winrar.
When winrar is open you just estract the ruu_signed.nbh file where you want and rename it into BLACIMG.nhb, put into your sd card and flash!
PS. sd card is must formated into Fat32 to perform flash!
Thanks to your quick response i will try it right away. thanks again
I let you guys know what happen
Thanks a million for your help yes I able to install stock rom back from a SD card know i can send it for repair.
Thank you very much I really appreciate you help

Just make sure the nbh file is in the same folder as the RUU exe and it will pick it up when you run the RUU.

Where is the X1 RUU

I think that's what I need...
Can someone please direct me to the download link for the Update Utility. The one I want has a folder with lots of files in it... you drop the .nbh file in the folder run the .exe and away you go.
Thanks!

Depends what you want...
SE Update Facility does the de-facto updates for you.
If you're thinking of loading a custom ROM then you'll need Hard SPL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
and then you can get the RUU utility from here (although if you are using Hard SPL you can just put the NBH file in the root directory of your SD card and load if that way):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446070
Never hurts to use the Search facility rather than adding another thread... that's what its there for
Thanks for this. I always search thoroughly before posting. It was a specific thing I couldnt find. Fount it now though. Kovsky...
X1_CustomRUU.exe is a lot easier to use. It's one file which extracts to all the files you probably have now, and then runs RUU.exe. Result is the same, but then in one file. You can find it here

goldcard and ATT Pure issues

Hi all,
I have been trying to get past the lockout screen on my HTC Diamond 2 (the PURE version from AT&T).
I used PSAS and my old phone to make a goldcard (following forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7033683&postcount=3 this thread).
I then downloaded the stock ROM from htc.com/us/support/pure-att/downloads/ HTC (since the xda "shipped-topaz-ROMS" link doesn't go any where.) It's an .exe file, which didn't get me anything in the bootloader. I tried renaming it topaimg.nbh to see what would happen and still came up with nothing.
What should I try next?
Thanks xda!
Right click on the .exe and extract files, you will see the .nbh file
Victory! Me 1 phone 0
For the record, you gotta rename it to TOPAIMG.nbh but you already knew that didn't you?
You already stated you attempted to rename the .exe to TOPAIMG.nbh so to state again would have been pointless.
"TOPAIMG.nbh" is for flashing from SD Card, RUU_Sugned.nbh is for flashing with RUU Wrapper.
