No I know the reg tweak to hide them and I did that, both manually and through Kaiser tweak. The problem is after a little while (no har reset or anything) my phone seems to start showing them again. When I go back into the registry the value has indeed reverted to default. Any idea what the heck could be causing this
I am running a stock (ROM wise) Tilt. I do have some programs installed but other than Kaiser Tweak nothing I can think of that would cause this. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately I get a 404 error when trying to follow this link.
Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?
If you're talking about the 404 error, the problem is because the link is bad, the link posted is exactly as it looks with the ... and everything. If you're talking about why your kaiser reverts back to showing the SIM contacts, it's because for some reason HTC decided to protect that registry setting, along with a few others people have found that aslo revert back after a reset. I posted a fix that NuShrike was nice enough to give me that resolves the problem, but I'm not sure what thread it is in exactly. If you do a search for hide sim contacts though you should be able to find it. If I find it though I'll post a working link to it.

Thanks much!!!!!
I'm using an AT&T Tilt with the default ROM, no modifications, just added software. My text and email messages are opening at the end of the message. The scrollbar is scrolled all the way down. On really long messages, like long emails, it won't be scrolled all the way to the end, but down quite a ways. Does anyone know what might be causing this, or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
did ya install kaisertweak? I read somewhere on this forum that that tool is causing that problem
No, I haven't installed that. But thank you for asking. I may check those references and see if anyone with that problem has found a solution...
try this , and please let us know!

That was it. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! Your original hunch was probably correct. I haven't installed that program but I did manually edit the registry to do that tweak. I didn't even think it was relevant cause I thought it only affected PIE. Looks like I have lots more reading to do at these boards. Thanks again for your help, and quick response...
I posted this in another thread, I have the Tweak installed on my Tilt and have the 4-Way Nav already set to 1. It still does this, very annoying. Any other suggestions?
didn't work on my HTC TyTN II either the suggested registry value value was already 1. I've been fiddling with KaiserTweak earlier.
working on htc tytn2! finaly i do not need to scroll down.
(it was coused by tweak2k.net on my device)

Yea, been there, done that, still no luck. The default was already set to "1" so it must be something else. The investigation continues.

Nothing new, so I use Pocket CM now to do my texting, works much better anyways and has threaded messaging!
Ive got the L26 v4 rom and used to have the stock at&t rom, both give me the same tomtom navigator problem. MY home is always default when i restart the program, none of my favorites are saved, if i add any personal info its gone the next time i start the program. Gps works great haha. Id just love to save the gps location of me in the porta john at work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TomTom always defaults to your home location, it's intended to, that's just how it works. If you want to change it; feel free, but it'll start wherever you change it to next time too.
And I just checked, I have my typical favorites, no problems that I know of. TomTom behaves almost exactly the way it did on my Treo 680.

No it goes to the default hom elocation of the white house not my house it never saves my home location or favorites. i think i made that clear it forgets everything i put in i cant have favortes or a home address because it acts like the first time i ever started tomtom ITS NOT ROM RELATED
can anyone tell me where tomtom keeps all its userdata maybe its saving in the wrng pace or something cuz it never saves anything
hello. Sounds like you have your poi.dat and a few other files set to read-only. Check the properties of the TomTom folders and ensure that they are not read-only.
Thanks
The GPS settings are stored in "navigator.cfg", while all other settings are stored in "MapSettings.cfg", which is in the map folder. Make sure that none of these two files is read only. Actually, make sure that all TomTom related files are not read only.

awesome thanks guys that did the trick. now i can save my gps coordinates for slacking off at work haha. Way better answers than IT ALWAYS DOES THAT haha
Just to add, although probably irrelevant now you've sorted it, but for anyone else reading this thread, if you want to remove your home location completely for security or for any other purpose, just delete the file MapSettings.cfg from the map folder on your SD card. It will recreate itself once you run the program again and add or change settings, without a home location, or you can specify a new one. From my experience, it makes itself not Read Only by default.

Maybe next time if you actually ask the question the way you later explained it, my answer would have been different. No reason to get pissy over it. Point out to me where my answer was incorrect. No? Didn't think so.

The .cfg file contains Home, favs and recent destinations. Nothing else should require removing.
Re. Read Only: I've found that this issue arises when Tomtom is backed up, and then restored, from a CD / DVD.
Burning the disk sets the attributes to Read Only (IMHO), so the files still retain the Read Only attributes when copied back to the SD card.
There are ways of changing this either on the Kaiser, or on a PC, but my prefered method would be to place the SD card into a reader on the PC, select the card/drive - Right click for properties and unselect the Read Only attributes to all.
Note - Properties can be accessed through mouse right click !
thanks everyone
Firstly forgive me if this has already been dealt with, but I did a search and couldn't find anything.
My device is showing 4.1MB free of 133MB, which seems very low. I don't think I've downloaded anything significant but I don't know how to find major files which shouldn't be there.
Any help would be appreciated.
Do you archive your text messages, and never erase them? You might have a build up of picture / video mail, if you do that excessively.
Ni I delete them
Is your device running sluggish.
If it's not you are creating a problem out of nothing.
Maybe you have too many CABs or programs installed. Think about removing some.
But if you have your phone how you want it and its not running slow, then don't worry about it. Why have memory you're not going to use.
It's not running sluggish at all. I was just concerned that 4 out of 133MB didn't seem much!
What ROM are you using? It might have a dynamic Page poll which means It will use what it can.

I knew this might get a bit heavy for me!
How do I find that out?
compimeh.0409.dat
You may want to search your windows directory for this file. I came across a post several days ago and it amazed me. I am not sure if anyone found a solution for this yet. Here is the thread you may want to read and the links included if you find this file on your device...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407180
you may want to try a hard reset see if it fixes the issue but back up your data.
I've previously used TreeSize. Try googling for 'treesize ppc'.
It's an old app, but does its job perfectly. It'll show you whats using your storage space.

Thanks to Kaze0110 and mad-tunes. I downloaded treesize and found a 77MB music file!!!
So like from flickr, is there a way to have a program make a slideshow for your background FROM your flickr account? That would be really great. I have searched all over market didnt find much on it, and same with here. Just wondering if someone knows something I dont.
Really appreciate it, thanks

Set it to search your user account, then everytime you upload a new photo to flickr, it will update your wallpaper....
On the other hand, if you want me to implement an auto-rotate option, rather than sticking with the latest, I may give it a go.
Cheers,
Daz.
I use wallswitch. It doesnt use a flickr account, but i save my images to a Wallpaper folder on my SD card and it switches automatically from that. You can even set how often you want it to switch.

That would make the program exremely useful . That is perticularly what I was looking for.
@MvP77, hmm, I tried searching on the market and I couldnt find it. Dont know why. But that could work too, as I could just have my flickr images on my sd card and that would be fine. Any ideas why its not showing up?
Thanks for the answers, its what I was looking for .

Ok, I've updated the full version of Flickr Droid. As of v1.1 there is a whole new settings interface, including a random image setting for the automatic updater...
Hope you like it!
I'll update the trial tomorrow, my thoughts are turning to the champions league!
Cheers,
Daz.
