I saw this and wondered if it can be edeitied or if rogers users get a similar program

Rogers has shortcuts to their mobile internet site with account info on it, some what useless, looked at it but better off signing into the real rogers website from the dream.

Hello all
I've been scouring the web looking for answers to this problem. Most of them are Palm specific.
I have had to replace the SIM card in my Tilt with a new one supplied by ATT. Had the phone repovisioned with the new SIM...all Windows 6.1 functions are fine.
My Goodlink apps (required by company) are no longer working and throws up the error that the intalled SIM does not match the phone SIM..or words to that effect.
I went to try and reactivate OTA from get.good.com. The installer begins but is unable to uninstall the old app.
Is there a way to update the Goodlink server with the new SIM number. As it stands, I have no corporate email or calendar info.
Did you ask your corporate IT folks. I think this is probably something they need to fix. Sounds like your new SIM needs to be accepted by the corp servers or something like that.
yes. but they are proving to be less than helpful. Goodlink is a legacy app and while they are bound to support it...they'd rather give me a blackberry.
Hey all
So my corporate IT department will not reactivate my Goodlink account to work with the new SIM card.
My department will not approve the request for a Blackberry
My corporate IT department will not enable the native Active Sync for Exchange.
Is there a similar program to the Blackberry Desktop director that would sit on my host PC and *listen* for email/calendar changes...then relay those to my device OTA?
thanks in advance
I have the vodafone branded model so no exchange support out of the box. Can anyone recommend a good app I can install? I'm testing out the touchdown demo and while it seems good, I don't fancy paying $25 for it. Also, although the demo is fully enabled for 5 days, it doesn't seem to work with push as it says not able to find activesync or something like that.
Tried Roadsync and switched to Touchdown. Supports calendar and tasks, has homescreen widget(!), allows sync time settings and more. Great support and updates, check out their google group! It's worth the money if you need exchange support.
For setting up: follow their manual on the homepage and it should work. Most trouble comes from incorrect settings, e.g. you forgot the domain. I did so
You're 100% right about touchdown. Double checked the settings and although the domain was listed, it now it works after I changed my username from 'username' to 'domain\username'
I guess I'll pay the $25 if no other free & reliable application is around
Same happened to me
It clicked when you mentioned it as I had trouble signing into my office webmail once, and IT said I should try that format for the username
Do like me, root the phone and install orig htc rom Stupid that us vodafone users cant get free exchange app etc, like we really was promised
Root? I'm afraid that doesn't tell me much ;-)
Any guides as to how I can do that?
After lots of searching, it seems this is not possible. I've read tons of threads here and elsewhere that reached the same conclusion. pop3 over wifi works, but not imap. pop3 doesn't offer folders, imap does.
2 questions:
1, has someone figured out a way?
2, how is this being blocked? Server side on Yahoo's part seems the logical way, but how do they know it's a G1? It can't be hardcoded into Android could it?

What IMAP app?
I use k-9 app to connect to my own imap server and it works fine over wifi, 3G and GPRS.
Definitely server-side. Yahoo must have an agreement with T-Mobile to allow their customers IMAP access to free Y Mail. Same is true for AT&T because that's where I'm accessing it from in K9 Mail.
I've used K-9 as well as several others. This issue is specifically a Yahoo Plus IMAP issue from what I've read. Strange since you'd think Yahoo would try to keep some users from bailing to gmail, which I've done now. Push is nice bonus with gmail too.
I was hoping there'd be a way to spoof the existence of the G1. But Yahoo could be blocking IMAP to known T-Mo IP's/internet2.voicestream.com, etc.
Yahoo blocks and imap access from non-mobile service providers unless you are paying for the advanced email. All done server side by yahoo. As far as i am aware there is no way to work arround it. I am surprised that you were able to get pop working. When i tried about 3 months ago on my pc pop and imap would work at all.

What rom are you on. I use to go into the setup and manually set up my imap settings and it worked. But it won't work on hero now. I've even gone back to a past build to test to see if it was still working and it is. Don't know if it is something with hero or what.

Yahoo not only blocks non "plus" accounts.
Yahoo blocks IMAP according to Mobile service providers but also Manufacturers of phones.
I'm paying for my Yahoo Plus account.
On my Treo 750 I was able to connect via G3 and WiFi (SDcard), now changed phone to Nokia 5800.
Connects perfectly through G3 but not through WiFi.
Automatic IMAP configuration on treo brought up imap.mail.yahoo.com - looks quite general and sound.
On the Nokia automatic configuration brings up imap.N.mail.yahoo.com "N" stands for Nokia.
Changing IMAP setting on the Nokia doesn't solve the mail connection problem through WiFi.
Tried many other options changing the "N" fot next, plus etc as I found options other users on the internet tried. None of these worked.
Have a claim running with Yahoo but since more than 3 weeks they state not yet having found a solution. Admitting it is not working as it should.

I found an answer to this issue back on RC30 rom. Yahoo has an agreement with T-Mobile to access the emails from mobile phones. Basically yahoo blocks IP that are not known T-Mobile ip's. This is why Wifi does not work and 3G does.

Yahoo has NEVER allowed IMAP service without paying until the agreement with T-Mobile and that was only with Blackberry devices to get the yahoo mail working in them properly. recently with more mobile devices the agreements have changed but yahoo is still a sticker for money.. just get rid of yahoo they sucks anyways plus. now they are screwing Google subscribers more by buying xoopit that had a gmail plug in and denying access to all Google users. Which is funny since Google saved yahoo's as way back by allowing them to use their search algorithm when MS was putting the pressure on them to sell.
It doesn't seem to be an issue of money, as I pay for Yahoo bizmail service, and still can only get IMAP over cell (AT&T in my case) and cannot get it through wifi.
Since T-Mobile UK decided there was no use for any IM client other than Google Talk I've had to use market apps and that's a bit useless really. Now I'm using Cyanogen's firmware the IM client lists AIM, Yahoo and MSN but whenever I enter my account details and try to sign-in I get an error message about it not being able to read my phone number and it fails. Is there any way around this? Does it have something to do with T-Mobile or have I got past that issue and ran into a different one?

It's that tmo plugin that rips people off by counting their "data" messages as sms. Basically, you can't use it unless your account is with Tmobile in the U.S.
I think someone found a way to hack it for 1.5 firmware though. Someone with knowledge on this is sure to chime in once they see this thread.
I had a feeling it might be something to do with that rubbish... Thanks for the heads up.
Hi,
I bought a Lumia 625 in china. It's a lower spec phone intended for my Dad (will be his first smartphone)
I bought a Windows Phone to be able to use things like the family group features and easy facebook / people hub integration (he's a smartphone noob an i don't want him to bother with different apps and stuff like that)
The phone is unloked but in settings/accounts there is a lot of stuff to add (sina weibo/soho/etc. but no facebook)
I id a hard-reset and installed all the available updates (It's now on Lumia Blak) but still there is no facebook account to add.
In settings/info it says Mobile Operator: UNI-CN (which might be China Unicom)
Even after inserting a German (o2) SIM this didn't change.
I guess I can't add an facebook account due to some provider settings (event though the phone is unlocked)
Any tips on how to get the facebook people hub integration / facebook account in settings/accounts?

IIRC Chinese government blocked Facebook access, and MS must comply to local laws. Just flash a generic ROM and the option should be there...
