HTC Peep - G1 Apps and Games

I am running on JACxROM 1.1 is there any way I can get that app for this build?

no, it is built just for the hero rom. its closed source and people havent been able to port it yet. if you used the JACxHero rom you should get it, but not in the regular JACxRom.

Good Rogers ROM?

Hi I saw somewhere that a 'Rogers' ROM is basically a cupcake with the HTC dialler added, could anyone recommend a recent Rogers ROM worth flashing?
Had a search in the dev section but couldn't find anything recent. Any cons to the Rogers ROMs?
(Giving up on Hero due to lag. Yeah, I tried!)
Soullife's Rogers 2.9.2. I'm recently changing roms, testing new experimental and Drizzy's builds, but Rogers is great due to speed + full exchange support.
Cool thanks. Is it the actual HTC dialler or something similar?..

There's several versions of the "Roger" ROM Build in the dev section. Most of them though, aren't being working on currently besides a few, but here's a complete list to get you going:

I've tried all the different Rogers build & can recommend both Virtudude's V3, or Soulife's Roger Remix depending on what you want to get out of the rom. Soulife does a great job bringing Cyanogen's new kernel's & trying to optimize his build to be as fast as possible along w/ the great features you'd expect like apps2sd, stable, themes, etc.
If you want just a stock build that don't automatically push apps to sd, stable, etc. I'd recommend either Virtudude's V3 Mod, or my own updated version of Virtudude's V3. It's built w/ the latest updates which is basically equivalent to a CRC1 build of the HTC builds plus other updates as well.
Most people who run the Rogers builds need the build in support for Exchange, the dialer, & the camera. I personally like the mail program, dialer, camera apps. The Rogers build do have a quirk about some widgets don't like to update after a while or get "stuck." It personally don't bother me, but I can see how it would annoy some. As much as I was excited about hero, I prefer the stability of the Rogers build. In the end, it all comes down to personal choice. Hope you find the build you like. Oh btw, right now personally, I'm swapping between my V4 mod & a modified Soulife 2.9.1+ the CRC1 updates & a couple of other updates. Both are running great. Hope that helps. Take care.
Ditto... Soulife Rogers is the most recent and updated Rogers rom.
It IS the actual HTC Dialer and has full exchange support. It's extremely stable and fast much like Cupcake.
I'm running Soulife's latest, and this is the first time I've run a ROM and felt absolutely no need or desire to change to something newer or different, been using Soulife for a few weeks now and don't plan on changing anytime soon, super fast, super stable, all the features I need and want (and I run OpenHome on it with Hero theme).

Hey vr24,
Did you ever try CRC1 update build I did for Soulife's 2.9.2 posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4289989&postcount=629
Just curious, I know NexVision was testing it & said it was running well, but we didn't seem to get any other feedback on it. I'm looking forward to Soulife getting his laptop so he can start working on things again. Since other were saying they were having some issues w/ 2.9.2, I did another re-build of 2.9.1 w/ the CRC1 update & was able to get Cyanogen's Dalvik VM from Donut from 3.9.1 working on it as well. That's what I'm currently testing. I've been running that for 48 hours now & haven't had any issues. I was going to post it in Soulife's thread if others were interested.
I'm running a straight 2.9.2 with the Hero theme slapped on top.
I am running Swapper and it's speeding it up noticeably even more, and the latest release of OpenHome is much faster too as they updated the process handling.
I'm really having no issues, nada. I may not be doing the same things that others are having issues with, but I wach videos, take pictures/video, use full exchange, have a ton of apps, widgets, etc... and everything run's super fast, no lag.
So I probably won't upgrade to anything for a little while.
Wow, thanks so much, missed these replies!
Will try out Soullife's now...
Also ... quick question about backup / restore if anyone can help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4367316#post4367316
I like Ramjet r7.

Android 1.5 and BFS

Is it possible to get this combination? Currently, I've tried Cyanogen stable 4.0.2 (4.0.4 seems to have problems for me) as well as the experimental 4.1.9.2, and while I really like the speed with BFS, too many of the apps I use do not support Donut yet.
Is BFS a Donut thing, or can it be used with Cupcake?

Not a donut/cupcake thing, as its a kernel patch.
It probably could but I don't think you'll find a dev willing to do it. Your best bet is to contact the dev of the app that doesn't work on donut and ask them to work on it. They should already be working on it as donut will be released to the masses soon. Who knows you might actually be asked to test some beta apps.

Android 2.1 gallery app for us?

Anyway we can get the gallery app on 2.1, ive tried it on my hero on some 2.1 roms and it can easily run it,
anyone tried porting it for 1.5?
I don't think it can be backported to cupcake, no - best just to wait the few shorts weeks for Hero Eclair
i mean as an apk. so i can run modaco rom
as non of the 2.x roms support games very well

Market UI/1.6 App support on hero?

Title says it all, just wondering if it's possible.
It's not possible (as far as I know) to use the 1.6 market on a 1.5 hero rom. You can, however, use a 2.1 Hero rom which shold have the newer market. Try King's Eris port.

Is this possible?- Data2ext

Hey All,
I was just wondering if data2ext would be possible for our beloved milestone. Could some devs please take a look at this - http://www.xda-developers.com/android/new-hack-for-desire-and-nexus-one-data2ext/ ?
I hope this will be possible.

I'm going to say no (on Froyo) currently - data2ext seems to requires the same thing that apps2sd (CM) does, and the G.O.T. 2.2.1 leaked SBF doesn't support it.
If you still have 2.1u1/2 from MOTO - then maybe.
So you are saying that the former one is may be compatible but no for the new one ? may be we have to wait for the officiall froyo for this ?

Yes, the 2.1 moto kernel supports it, but the leaked 2.2 moto kernel doesnt. Hopefully the official kernel 2.2 will. So if your phone is still on eclair it could be potted, but I don't think any devs are focused on eclair roms much anymore
The way it's implemented requires ext access from Android. This requires a kernel module which for now does not work in our leaked 2.2.1 based builds. It will probably work when Moto releases the source code for the kernel. As of now, ext access is only on 2.1 based builds.

So will this work with eclair then? (2.1) And if yes, how?

yes, it should work on eclair - if a dev is willing to try to port it.
Can't wait, hope this will get ported so I can mess with it my Milestone.
Tried this on my Droid tonight and had no luck. On my old phone(CDMA HTC Hero200) I was going from 190MB of internal space to around 473MB of internal space. I just tried it tonight on my Droid with all the coding on Better Terminal Emulator Pro and had no luck whatsoever. I am running CM7.1 Stable on my Droid. It's Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread and thats what I had on my Hero as well. I'll keep looking at the coding and everything and see what I can do for us. I'll talk with some guys over in the Hero Forums about it too. There are different types of data2ext versions as well that may be of some use to us.
EDIT: OK,I had an old android app sitting around on my external called swapper.apk. I gave it a try on my droid today as well and had no luck. I used to use that app on my old T-Mobile G1 way back in the day. Thought it MAY work but got nothing,I'm at a loss right now but will keep working on this for everyone!
