I used to use the Best Tube app for downloading youtube vids for watching offline. After switching to the vegan rom, I went to the market to download the app again and it was missing. several market fix attempts doesn't make it show up, and trying all the reputable app sites show it missing from the market.
Anyone have the apk for it? Or can recommend a good free app from the market that does the same thing and works well with vegan v1 b5.1?
thanks in advance
Check for TubeMate in the market...

When you go to Youtube directly from your browser it pulls up the mobile version m.youtube.com
When you click a link through facebook- it takes you to the main site which does not work on the HD7 due to no flash.
its because facebook links to the desktop (www.) version of youtube, the youtube app adds support for the mobile (m.) version, when you click the facebook link you get directed to the desktop version as the app doesn't catch the link and redirect you to the mobile site.
You have to have both versions of the YouTube app installed. The version that came with the phone is what it tries to launch via links. The HTC version plays nicer quality vids.
So, I use the HTC version when I'm manually surfing YouTube, and the stock one installed so it will launch when I click a link.

except as pointed out by aaronhope1972 and myself the link catch doesn't work from 3rd party apps, which is what the OP was asking about. Personally I just wish they'd get flash ported and we'd not have this problem
Wow, had never tried that and just did.
Sucks.
Interestingly the People Hub Facebook integration part directs to m.youtube, which will subsequently work.
Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. Its a pity about that.

Yeah not MS at it's finest right there huh
If they'd only actually open a real dialogue with users about what we need from the phones
Nevermind, like 3 topics about this on the first page. My search skills need honing.

Hey buddy. I'm looking for the 2.1/Eclair YouTube app. Can you post it here (or send it in a PM)?
Here's the deal. I hate the newer versions of YouTube because they don't save list position when scrolling subscriptions. This causes me to have to start at the top of my subscriptions list after every video, even if I just pop in one to look at the description. However, I remember when I was using the Samsung Captivate (released with 2.1), its YouTube app did remember list position. So, I'm trying to track down its version of YouTube, not the newer versions, but I suppose the original Eclair version. Hope someone can help me out.
anyone know an apps that can download video direct from dailymotion?
Why dont you just download from youtube???
Im not sure but i think there is on app for downloading from dailymotion.
Try to use "Tube Downloader Plus", it has been removed from the market, but you can found it on Google!
There are many ways to download videos from Dailymotion. Well, I recommend you the best and free one. It is a online app. that allows you to grab dailymotion videos easily. Copy and paste URL to the website, then it will download it for you.
