I want purchase one of these, which one would you say is best?
SPB 3.0 is a lot better
u can also try both, by going to there websites
point ui free edition
spb 3.0 trial
then buy the one u want
Yes, try them out before you buy one.
But Ganondolf is right,SPB 3.0.1 is much better. I even flashed my phone back from new WinMo 6.5 to 6.1 and installed SPB 3.0 because I missed so many features. Contact program is fantastic...so is everything and not at least the beautiful android screens.
[x] Spb Mobile Shell 3.0
I bought SPB 3
Hi,
I tried both PointUI and SPB 3 for a while and found SPB 3 to be much better.
While both are really good WM skins, I had annoying ? characters all over my contacts list when using PointUI and it would sometimes stop responding completely for a while - I assume because it was working stuff out
I had problems of some kind with nearly all the applets I downloaded from the PointUI Community website too at one time or another.
Not only did I find SPB 3 more stable, the more I used it the more I realised it could do and on top of the customisation you get by default with the Lifestyle Layout, there's also loads of tricks, widgets and themes out there that people have developed independently (just like for PointUI.)
SPB for X1i is free, just check out the thread in Software & Themes section. The panel version of SPB was released by SE in Korea i think.
Had a look at point ui, it looks graphically appealing, but there doesnt seem to be much to it tbh. Will use SPB, is it also a panel?
SPB mobile shell 3 is too complicated. Point UI pro is just fine its more touch friendly. If you want to have it for free just google it. Or buy it
I would not prefer sbp nor PointUi, only WisbarAdvancedDesktop 2 with much more possibilities and it is great stable on my X1
Great skins (called themes) you can find here: http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=60
I agree with PF. Have used SPBMS, PointUI2 and WAD2. SPB is WYSIWYG (too rigid for me); PointUI2 while looking very good is just too unstable on a WVGA phone, the most appealing applets are just too resource intensive. After looking around I found WAD2, brilliant, fast, stable infinitely customizable. I've installed fransberg's BlackberryHD theme and tweaked it a bit to my liking (http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=93920&postcount=16). Really, really nice. Again like the other two Lakeridge has a trial download to try.

helllo guys.
has someone tried home on this site ?
I tried it on my S200 and it works perfect. It is fast, no bugs at all and it looks nice!
I use it version 1.5 on my Hermes, and it works mostly OK. it still has a few problems.
It does not want to work on my touch diamond...
It lauches to the start screen then bombs out.
SPB mobile shell seems to work tho, and to me it seems better. You can even get a diamond skin for it, and the whole thing runs alot better than touchflow!
I've hard reset and cleaning up to use spb mobile shell.
At this moment, pointUI only has one alpha release of VGA devices:
http://forums.pointui.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=862
Only an older version of PointUI will work at this moment. But there is laso a thread about the Diamond, so in time, it will I think

vga alpha versions works on diamond!
really cool inferface, much faster then tf3d
So i was over on modaco and they were able to get the panels to work on HD...yea i know the resolution difference between the Blackstone and Raphael....Maybe one of the chef experts can play with it. I tried to install the installer and it installs but doesnt run.

Ok this isin't exactly what your looking for but interesting none the less. this is FEWigets, its omnia-esque for the tough pro.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430190
The next one is smiler to what you are looking for, its called Task Facade.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420220
But I have seen nothing that is an exact replica of the X1 YET.
Hope I helped you some!
I'm pretty sure he was looking for a project to port panels to the htc raphael (cdma and gsm variations)
i second that.. hope someone is working on porting it to the raphael... well we kinda see that xperia has got tf3d ported to it's device.. well i hope raphael users could get panels too one day..
thirded on that point
the interface is so beautiful (and facebook app ftw) would be perfect for touch pro
I fourth this motion. I like how on the X1 TF3d was one of the panels It is the porting of the app on a different resolution which poses the biggest challenge i think.
It could be used with tf3d, launched with a pull-down of the task bar, like SPB Mobile Shell does.
considering the relase of the files thanks to modacco I don't see why it can't be ported now
I'm debating on making a UI ROM. This ROM would contain ALL the most popular UIs for windows mobile. I will try and customize the look of them if people want. Is anyone interested in this???
PS. Of course you know this may eat up a lot of storage memory. I'll try and minimize as much as I can.

Try the basic ones: iFonz+S2U2+S2P, Throttlelauncher+throttlelock, HS++, and of course, Manila!
Hmmm i was thinking more like FEWidgets, PointUI, SPB Mobile shell and TF3D. I'm really not a fan of throttle launcher cause its so freaking slow..
Depending on the performance.. I would love to give it a shot.
I would like to have:
Taskbar Icons,
Background for all Tabs,
Slider Icons,
New Icons set under Start - Like iPhone everything one size within a Sq template. (for WM6.5)
S2U2 cooked into the WM 6.1 ROM
If the ROM is smooth and stable with out any memory leaks and within acceptable RAM usage... I am sure a lot of people would love it.
My 2 Cents.
I would probably base the ROM on WM6.1 but I was going to put tweaks for the interfaces and some basic apps. This would be more of a Find ur UI ROM so u can test them all and to have them all optimized in one rom
I think this is a great idea, and would certainly be interested if it had a nicely set up PointUI with SenseUI suite (I've had issues with it running on my phone).
Throttlelauncher should be speedy enough on this device. It was quite fast on my old Herald, and that thing's ancient. I would probably prefer that there weren't any paid interfaces like Home2 and SPB, since not everyone has a registration for them.

From what i've seen Throttle launcher is slow and laggy on every device.. I can try it on the TP2 and make a decision. SPB mobile shell is like rated one of the top interfaces for Winmo so i can't leave that out. It gives the people who do use that interface the ability to have a customized ROM for it. I'm personally not a fan but have like 10 coworkers that hate tf3d and love spb.
How about Moto Homescreen or UL for that matter!
Check this thread out try editing the manila 2.6 and making a landscape version and using the latest 2.5/2.1 to try and get it working correctly.

I honestly don't believe that is possible but I can look into it. No one wants to share the Manila 2.6 Packages so there is nothing I can do there.
I'd like it but im sure it would be pretty hard to bundle all that together and still be able to hotswitch between the different today screens.

I am looking for a rom with sense 2.1 on wm6.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618063
but one with the weather on the front...
Place a Request
Friend! What you are looking for was developed by @Jackos
Its called Jackos WM6.1 21048 Hybrid Sense 2.1
You will need to request him to post it for you to download. It has few minor bugs (but one can do with it). Try it, I think you will like it - Its fast and pretty stable too.
tried it...in fact used it.... and of course loved it too.... But I personally prefer the SPB Mobile Shell interface a bit over Sense. Only eye candy in the Sense interface is the weather animation, which i have learned to live without.
Regards,
hi I'm currently using spb shell 3.5 but I saw that there are very beautiful skin also for wad2. so my question is which is better between this two program??? i saw spb shell is more expensive than wad, but I want an opinion from those who have used their which is the most customizable? which is the lightest at the startup?
thanks a lot
I used both. Each of them can be customized and there are plenty of themes floating around for both of them (a bit more themes for wad). I sticked to spb mobile shell cause it seemed a bit faster on my device (HTC Touch HD WM 6.1) and i think it's more eye-candy than wad
THROTTLE LAUNCHER!!!!!!!!

THROTTLE LAUNCHER is too heavy... spb is much faster becouse my viva doesn't have the 3d graphical accelerator, the cpu have 264 Mh and little ram, so it work slow (very slow) but i really like it

it doesn't exist :'( so when your theme (LACUNA 3.0 ) will support qvga version i will try it
In my opinion spb shell is absolutely the best...especially if you use it with a sense theme... but i've never tried throttle launcher

SPB MObile Shell cannot be customized very easily, and one cannot create new widgets. Throttle Launcher is very easy to customize and also new widgets can be created easily.

going back to the main question: WAD is very good customizable but SPB mobile shell is faster.
I have been forced to live SenseUI free and have returned to some of my old skinning apps that I used pre-Sense. One of those is Wisbar Advance, made by Lakeridge who also makes WAD.
My recent experience with Lakeridge is they are dead. I made a few posts there and received no replies. My last post was a request for updated skinning info which has been there, unanswered, for more than a week. The forum is flat, there is no support there anymore and no one is skinning it anymore. Worse, all the links to old skins are all dead. Only a small pittance of skins that have been posted to Lakridge's forums are still available for it.
Because of this I created a skin myself, ironically enough. I actually released it today. Its here. Gratuitous plug: here is the promo flyer for it. But, I think no one is interested given the lack of activity around Lakeridge's site itself.
So a big caution with WAD. Its a dead end. Personally I've never liked WAD, I found it very buggy, but this was like 2 years ago. I have always liked Wisbar Advance though, and used it extensively before I got a HD2 and Sense.
That is not to say that SPB is any better, though. The difference is SPB abandoned their customers long ago, so nothing much is different. See the conversation I had with Vostradamus in his thread towards the end. Maybe because of this, the skinning community for Mobile Shell is very much alive here at XDA.
Now that I have been using Mobile shell for a few months, I have to say, thanks to the great artists at XDA, I find I like Mobile Shell far more than I like SenseUI. I will never be going back.
i like both...especially SPB mobile shell
