HTC Touch Keyboard+Keypad Input Problems...any ideas?

I downloaded the HTC Keyboard+Keypad as a new SIP. Really nice. Got it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336587
Only problem is that once i use it, it takes over the calling dialpad. I end up having to hit the red button end, go back to the today screen, then hit the green button send to bring up my real dialpad.
Any ideas how to fix that? Anyone else download that keyboard? Have problems? Or is it just me.

hmm i dont seem to have prob with the new cab except that it kills the native 'auto-correct' feature.. which i DO need when using the hardware keyboard.. so.. too bad for me

Not sure how to do that but I can say after a days usage it is MAGNIFICENT....

How do you get it to work flawlessly?
I end up with the full keyboard and can't change it to the keypad.

How to do it on Kaiser?

For me, it is working fine in Words.
But I cannot use XT9 on SMS.
Does anyone know what is the problem?

does anybody know a way to disable the automatic change to the querty keyboard when in a java app or on a password field?
I prefer to keep it XT9, but it sqitches to querty on it's own.

anybody got the (onscreen) QWERTY Keyboard from the touch hd?
it has improved in some things and i would like to replace the standard qwerty with it...

But in landscape don't work, because Touch HD have 800px and Diamond 640px

edit: does not work on my (ger) touch diamond.... messes up the keyboard graphics and is not able to uninstall

saw that edit post to late
now my keyboard is also messed up. any hints on solving this?

if its a cab...can't you just uninstall? and soft reset

can't uninstall it anybody has a cab of the original keyboard?

that's what i tried but without the wanted effect
i also tried to reapply my current theme with tf3dconfig but that also don't
works for me.

thanks for that, but first cab is a wrong one and duttys cab can't be installed because of systempriviliges (so says installer )

If you're using Duttys Rom, why not just reflash..?

i'm not using duttys rom-just tried the cab... but in spite of that: don't want to flash my device, because there's a lot of stuff to reinstall

damn ... now it's worse then before :/
the last cab (dutty) is a querty keypad that is way too small for the screen :/
isn't there a cab with the original files ?! (qwertz would be what i'm looking for)
i can't find it by searching the forum

same prob here need orignal diamond keyboard help please

HELPPPPP how to remove this keyboard!! it just messed up every thing, not even the old one is working!!!!

All SIP's go back to default SIP.

I've gone through multiple Roms, different versions of hyperdragon III, and different versions of PDAcorner. When I try to select a different keyboard, it loads for a second, then goes back to the default. The only keyboards that work are other defaults, such as Block Recognizer, Letter Recognizer, and Symbol Pad.
SOMETIMES PCM keyboard works, but NEVER has any of the diamond keyboards every worked.
I've even tried SIPchange, but the same thing happens. I assume the same has happened to you guys too? did you ever fix it?

it worked for pcm, but i never tried it with the diamond keyboards.

The default cab is the ticket...it works when everything else fails. I don't even bother with the other stuff now. If the sip won't stick, I just install that cab and select it. A soft reset later and you are good to go.

I have attached attached it below. Also there are other keyboards that work better than the diamond ones...raphael and opal work much better. Do a search for their cabs...

doesnt work... atleast not with PCMkeyboard. I'll reinstall PCM.

sipchange and imSelector did nothing... the only reason I fixed PCMkeyboard was cause uninstalled the old and re installed it.. as far sa the raphael and opal keyboard.. i downloaded something, but im not sure if it was it, so.. could someone kindly link me to the 2 keyboards? lol

PCMkeyboard just quit working again, and imSelector and sipchange doenst fix it.
So instead i must ask... what roms are you guys using that support SIPS?

1. install the default im wm5 cab above
2. install the opal keyboard you want
3. start > programs > im selector > opal keyboard
4. start > settings > personal > input > opal keyboard
5. soft reset
-----
you may need 2 soft reset twice before it cooperates. if you have your phone password protected, the default keyboard you selected will never show until AFTER you enter the password.
only RARELY do i get a glitch now, and a reset usually fixes the problem.

I am in the same boat as you and the only keyboard that I have gotten to work is resco keyboard.....I have same exact problems as you...did you ask SJ about it....

SJ's opal keyboard
im having problems attaching files, but SJ's keyboards can be found here.
apply the default im instructions and a couple of soft resets later, you should be good 2 go.

I played with a Samsung Omnia yesterday, I really liked the keyboard SIP, is it possible to download and get to work on our kaiser's.

Hi experts!
The time has come again for me to call on your knowledge.
I has installed fingerboard v2.0 on my kaiser ,i like this keyboard alot the only problem is everytime i soft reset it reverts back to the roms keyboard which is driving me mad!!!
Is there any way to stop this?

Should do give it a shot basically run it tell it the keyboard press set "think it's set lol"
Keyboards like Resco tend to work without SIPChange but generic ones often need SIPChange.

I installed this app on my Hero, I configurated the options but it doesn't appear as a keboard by default.
Do you know why?

All u have to do is long press in any text entry and select Touch input and chose ur keyboard

out of curiousity... what is the reason for a 'better' keyboard and what do you define as a better keyboard?
In other words: Did you try one that you like more than HTC's keyboard, and what is it you like about it?
