My Ultimate Journey fROM 1.56.00.00 to Ultimate-X2.V6 WWE - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi,
The following post was created by accident - I was recording each change as I was going through the process mentioned in the link below which is GREAT!! (by mskip) and at each process I was recording certain information and changes I encountered each stage. As mentioned in another post, after reading Gwen's post I was inspired to go for it and to submit my experience as my contribution.
So now I edited the information so other users can see that if they follow each stage step by step it will really work!!!
Link for the best guide for noobies: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
Note:
-Though the guide mentions ActiveSync - if you have Vista I think that wond work, you have to download a a think called Windows Mobile Device Centre (WMDC) - just wait until it says connected and carry on
-The part that is says right click on the small icon and deactiave the USB connection, I couldn't to that with so instead you have to click on the connection setting within WMDC and disable it there
I recorded two sets of information in each set a bit of a lengthy process but I recorded at each stage to see if there were any changes happening at each stage - only changes were recorded in subsequent stages - sorry no photgraphs or videos taken although I wished I had to help other newbies!

-It says to make sure no other process run during the updating process - well someone called me in skype - and it paused at 99% I'm now thinking cos of this call everything is going to crash - I hanged up and quite skype, msn and the rest of them - then thankfully it went to 100% - Success!!!!

Problems encountered:
-No stylus configuration came up - I couldnt go to today page either - it wanted to have a SIM card so I inserted one
-It was working fine was able to make call and stuff, but some minor problems such as graphical stuff - so I done a hard reset anyway.
-Worked fine again but the CAMERA is not working.....
And that is it!
It took me only half a day to unlock my phone and update to WM6.5 I believe, it's so easy when you follow these easy instruction.
The three-layer-xda-architecture - how i think the system is...lol (in relations to the three-layered architecture in information systems)

1. the base MUST be changed before any of the above can be changed (this is like the the 'database') or like the BIOS/Motherboard of a PC - only needs to be done once
2. the radio is like the 'business layer' that connects the other two layers - like a messenger passing informatiion or like a "CPU" or the Hard-disk maybe of a PC - this can be changed as many times as you like, as you upgrade the processor for example
3. and finally the ROM is like the OS (software) or monitor, the "visual aspect" of the system what you see on the screen - this can be changed many times too - its like re-installing or upgrading windows (from XP to vista to MS7)
It's bit a difficult to exmplain so apologies if none of it makes sense - maybe someone else can explain it better! lol
My tips:
Be patient!
Don't go clicking/pressing around or pulling out cables if something did not load or something is not appearing, give it a minute or two be patient, it is probably loading in the processor.
You should know your own PC, its speed and how long it normally takes, and the noises it makes, like if the process works faster or the sound of Hard disc etc etc
Now I will play around with other ROM and radio till my camera and everything works and I feel happy with a certain ROM. Hope I done everything correct as I am still learning but most importantly I got an unlocked phone with some extra features
BTW my phone is the MDA vario 3 locked to T-mob
P.S sorry for any bad spelling and grammar - it's been a long day

the "three-layer-xda-architecture" you describe is not a very accurate description of the internals of a windows mobile device
also, most of the information mentioned here is also mentioned in the wiki
congratulations on your first custom ROM flash and your post proves that unlocking your device and flashing a ROM is really not that difficult if the steps are followed correctly.

Hi there,
Thanks, and we have the same ROM
I'm now in the process of updating the radio 1.71.09.01 (as mentioned on the ROM thread) - How are you finding the 1.70.18.02?
I can also see that you are using the HSPL 3.34 DaveShaw...
I'm going to take a shortcut and ask you a few questions if you dont mind ...
I installed in the following order SPL --> ROM --> planning to to Radio now.
If I want the HSPL 3.34 Daveshaw, do I have to reinstall the ROM and Radio afterwards????
Can I install Daveshaw's the same way I followed mskip's tutorial?
Thanks

dude, if you look carefully at my signature that mentions the ROM and ROM "parts" that i am using, you will see that they are LINKS. i have made them LINKS so that any forum member can just click the links to get more information.
the very FIRST link in my signature is to the "wiki" that contains 99% of the information anyone might need, including the answers to the following questions you are asking:
1. I'm now in the process of updating the radio 1.71.09.01 (as mentioned on the ROM thread) - How are you finding the 1.70.18.02?
it doesn't matter what radio version **I** am using. the performance of a radio version is highly dependent on the particular ROM you are using and your LOCATION in the world and your PROVIDER. even though we are both using the same SERIES of ROMs, they are DIFFERENT ROMs (based on different windows mobile builds) and we are in DIFFERENT parts of the world and we are using DIFFERENT providers. read the "Ultimate Radio Thread" in my signature and you will see this is the answer given to ANYONE that asks "what is the 'best' radio"
2. I installed in the following order SPL --> ROM --> planning to to Radio now.
If I want the HSPL 3.34 Daveshaw, do I have to reinstall the ROM and Radio afterwards????
just read the PDA Corner Ultimate thread for more information...read the FAQ there. HardSPL needs to be done ONCE in your entire life, unless you want to upgrade your HardSPL version. changing HardSPL and/or Radio is NON DESTRUCTIVE. but some people are starting to recommend doing a hard reset after changing radio to be on the safe side. the process of changing the SPL or radio SHOULD NOT affect your programs and data but these days some people are recommending hard resetting after the change.
3. Can I install Daveshaw's the same way I followed mskip's tutorial?
mskip's tutorial is great but you seriously need to read the wiki to clear your concepts. short answer is that the tutorial steps CAN be followed but SOME radios, SPLs, and ROMs might require slightly different steps that will be clarified in the threads for those radios, SPLs, and ROMs. so, just read the thread for DaveShaw HardSPL 3.34 which is linked in my signature.
once again, just please please please read the wiki and search and read and search. it will be a rewarding experience and will help build your concepts and will minimize the need for basic questions.

I just updated my Radio and WOW!! it done wonders... the camera is working and calling now work 100%!!!!
Ya it was a bit lazy to ask basic Qs - I think it cos I've been on 6 hours non-stop..lol
Although I did find some of the answers I was seeking, but something you pointed out I done straight away a hard reset!!
Looks like everything is in order I'm going to stick with my SPL
Well I'm off to bed and will continue my research tomorrow, here is a good site:

Any non-programers understand this stuff?

ok, I have read all there is to read on this site and on WIKI. What good is it if what I am reading makes no sense to me? I know what .cab files are and how to use them, but what is a .rar file and how do I unrar or unzip it? Do i really need to create files in DOS?
All I want to do is upgrade my BA (sx66/cingular using unlocked on tmobile) to windows mobile 5.0. I know there are way too many threads on here about people who are getting stuck or having certain errors or need help in some way. I can't even get started! The few "step by step" guides I found, start off easy enough an 3 steps into it they referring to things that I have no idea what they are or how to do (yes i have read all the "please read before asking questions" stuff) Again what good does it do if you dont know what you are reading. Maybe its not broken down into simple enough terms for the average joe.
In any event, is there anyone that can shed some light on this stuff for me or aid me in a walk through. Or am I just out of luck because of my lack of software engineering knowledge? Thanks for your time all and I appreciate any feedback. Surely there is someone out there as dumb as I in this area that made it through (or at least I can hope)
You need winrar (www.winrar.com) to "unrar" the files in order to use them.
Winrar works just like winzip but it handle .rar files. So basicly you will download winrar to your computer, install it, then download the rar file with the rom you want to upgrade your device.
Using winrar open the rom archive and extract to a folder on your computer.
Run build.exe, select the options you want for your rom and press the > button.
From there do as the guide says.
spunk32, calm down We are here to help, not kill newbies
Two things:
1. When you don't understand some terms like "unrar" that not PDA-related, just google it. Things like this are considered basic here
2. When you have specific problem about one of the points, post a question (let's keep it in this thread) and smb will try to explain. But try to understand some of us, that we are not going to explain how to copy or download a file
General comment:
ROM upgrading is not totally safe and error-prune. You have to understand fully what are you doing and what for/what is the result. Basic knowledge of the way the PDA works is also good, to make good decisions on the way. That's why I do not consider updating (especially BA from WM2003 to WM5) as a task for everybody (for ex. I think that updating WM5 to WM6 with full unlocking of Hermes is much easier, but still not safe).
I would propose you to use Baniaczek's ROM (instead of XPlode rom cooking set - I looked at the PDF guide - yes, this one is complex, but some of the pictures might be helpful) as there is one step less on the way.
Full guide for you is here (on bottom of the page)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Helmi
You should go through all the options here, when you update from WM2003. Remeber, that going back to 2003 needs to go through another procedure, that will recreate ExtROM (yes, this is one of the magic words you should understand to play with ROMs).
Thanks for the info guys. ill delve a little deeper and see what happens. im sure ill be back on here with a post when i come to another speed bump. thanks again.
ok, i have gotten this far: downloaded winrar software, downloaded the following ROM-Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3.5_v1.4.CF2.R2. Then I clicked on MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe. When i click continue on the welcome screen, the next screen shows "software converting from....to..." all the data fields are blank. Is this normal and am I on the right path? I did NOT click on upgrade to continue the process b/c I wasnt sure if I had missed something. Thanks again all.
Read what I posted moment ago in "No data from device in MyUpgradeUt" thread. I just checked again screen while updating Xplode on my BA:
In From fields there is only Radio version
In To fields, I have only Ce Image Version: 5.35.05
All other fields are emplty (and not important after all, especially nonexisting ExtROM).
Press your power button, the record button (has a cassette on it) and your reset button at the same time. Wait for the Serial or USB to show on the screen (will be dark) then flash your ROM.
It is in the forums around here somewhere on how to do that but I am to busy to find it for you to post a link.
ok, i think i made a mistake. i got as far as the step where it says you MUST say YES to the first two things on the reboot screen or whatever. all of them said NO, i tried to change it to YES , but i did not know how to change it. i hit the mail button and the screen white and loaded as is. how do i get back to the screen where i need to make the "YES" changes and how do i change NO to YES??
ok, i re-read and saw where i missed how to toggle the YES/NO. so since i was dumb enough to miss that what have i done by not changing the "NO"s to "YES"s? The device seems to be working fine. Is there something that I am not aware of yet?
If you restarted the device and made the hard reset again, this time correctly (selecting proper settings) device should work fine.
You might not noticed, but if you take battery out for while and then start the device, radio won't start (there will be no version next to letter R - means GSM mopdule won't work). You need to make soft reset few secs after first starting of the device to make it run. This is on of not so many problematic things with BA under WM5.
i have not done anything to reset the "yes/no" settings and the device has been working fine all day. i dont ever take off my battery so hopefully i wont have the problem you were refering to.
also, is there any way to remove the camera software since i dont have a camera on my device.
how do i upgrade the radio? i tried WIKI, but i got error messages and when i tried to follow the troubleshooting the links didnt work. outdated i guess.
If you never done correctly hardreset of you BA, you should - you can have a lot of odd problems without hard reset after installing (or upgrading) WM5.
Radio: I followed Wiki and made update radio (1 year ago) from some old version up to 1.13 - without any problems. Follow step after step and port exact error message and on what was happening a this exact moment.
ok, i reset and corrected to NO, YES, YES. thanks. what about removing camera data? any ideas?
You cannot delete apps that are already included in the ROM - this is Read Only Memory, as you know.
When you feel comfortable with flashing and playing with all those files, you will be ready to try xplode kitchen in which you can just select stuff you need to be included in the rom. Manual is a bit longer but still nothing really hard. You can find PDF with full instruction on Wiki pages.
ok i understand what your saying about the camera app. i have tried many times and many versions of the radio upgrade and none work. i have gotten just about every error code there is. am i supposed to be in that "boot" mode when i run it or simple be synced? ill keep looking for a thread that has recent info, but what i see is out of date with links that are no good.
You should follow http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.15_Upgrade and Second Methord Type I EASY (this is the one I used). Because you have no camera, you device is PH20B1, but AFAIK radio is the same.
You need to put your device in "serial" booloader mode (non backlighted screen, "serial" or "USB" written in lower part of the screen depending on USB cable connected or not (Power+Softreset+Record).
blue tooth wont turn on
the wm5.0 has been working great. the only problem i am having is that the blue tooth wont turn on. i have tried every method of enabling it, but it always shuts itself off. any ideas?

P3600i Flashing Tutorial

OK first of all I've put this together hastily so forgive me for slight errors, but most of this should be fine.
To flash your P3600i, there are 3 things that should concern you: HardSPL, the Radio, and the ROM.
HardSPL: something that allows you to run unsigned code on your phone (e.g. ROMs), and also provides protection in case it screws up. This is the first thing you do. (This is probably a **** explanation, but functional at least?)
Radio: I guess more like a mini feature set, I know there was something similar when I had a Motorola phone which was called a flex. In this case it's not a whole new operating system, but perhaps easily thought of as small tweaks made to improve the system without necessitating a whole ROM flash. Why have a radio when a ROM could take care of everything? Well the advantage of a radio is that you can flash these without resetting everything. Everything (contacts, etc.) remain intact.
ROM: What you're really after, WM6.1 and the lovely cooked ROMs that should soon be available for flashing. This will wipe everything on your phone, so back your stuff up (contacts, settings, owner info, messages, etc.).
Flashing procedure:
IF YOU HAVE VISTA: You need to update your drivers. Go here for instructions. You can then proceed with the procedure as per normal.
The basic procedure is this. Flash HardSPL first, then update your Radio, then finally, your ROM.
Note: The HardSPL you use is a modified one especially for the P3600i. Get it here.
Note2: Here is a mirror for the latest Radio for the P3600i. From following the guides, you will know when to use it. Get it here. (N.B. Radio link updated to v1.56.70.11 - 2 Aug 2008)
Go to the trinityguides.info guide (link here) and go through the procedure - and yes, I know the link points to page 2 of the guide.
NOTE WHEN FLASHING HARDSPL, IT WON'T WORK THE FIRST TIME - YOU WILL GET AN ERROR (CODE 260) LOLOL. THIS IS EXPECTED.
This is what happens.
You go to flash HardSPL like the guide says. LOOK AT THE SCREEN ON YOUR PHONE, YOU MIGHT HAVE SECURITY PERMISSIONS AND NEED TO MANUALLY ALLOW THE PROGRAMS TO RUN.
It looks like it's about to flash and then errors. BUT your phone is on the 3-colour bootloader screen! How odd. Well KEEP YOUR PHONE ON THE BOOTLOADER SCREEN, and unplug it from your computer. Exit the HardSPL program, RUN IT AGAIN, and FLASH THE PHONE AGAIN WITH HARDSPL (obviously connect your phone and stuff back to your PC).
The point here is this: the first time it will fail, but at least manage to get the bootloader up. With this bootloader up, exit the flashing program, restart it, and then you should be able to run the flashing program and have it complete.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PHONE HAS THE OLIPRO HARDSPL INSTALLED after completion, by soft-resetting (hold the power and camera buttons at the same time AND use the stylus to press the putton at the bottom of the phone. You might not get it the first time, but with practice you'll get the hang of it).
Once you can see 3.20 Olipro (yes, 3.20) on the bootloader screen, you know you have HardSPL on fine, and can proceed to the trinityguides.info instructions on flashing your radio and ROM. ROMs can be found in the P3600i ROM Collection thread, here.
Hopefully this should answer a lot of questions people have
Hihi,
Because I am using Vista PC, can I use PC to flash the hardspl and use SD card to flash OS and radio??
Thank you

Simple answer is no. You should be able to flash Hard SPL from Vista if you follow the Trinitty guides to change the USB drivers to the XP ones.....PLEASE read the TRINITY GUIDES as stated above.
about the vista problem ... take a look: http://trinityguides.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=66
should i download the hard spl from here?

and what radio should i put? be specific...
Thanks
whatever radio you feel like, jesus, the level of stupidity just gets worse.
of course, if you're totally ****ing incapable of independent thought, we can spoonfeed you some arbitrary radio version.
Thanks for your attitude! I just want to do somethink that work... And my question is not for the fun! I saw in the guide that in the link (to trinityguide) and in the first page its didnt writen that is compatible with p3600i. So i ask before i make damage to my device.
I am working in computer companies for 5 years but its my first time flashing ppc so i want to be sure what to do before that I will make any damage.
And belive me that anyone that will gets some help in the first flash will help in the future to the forum.

OK...you do not have to flash ANY radio if you don't want to.
The Tinity Guide was written well before this device was cracked so it is not up to day with regard to the P3600i.
If you follow the instructions at the top of the page you should be fine.
Chose whatever radio you want to use....then pick one of the ROM's that are known to work and away you go.
I just flashed the MARY 3.7 SL and before I started loading up my customisations my Program memory was 34 meg. Even now after laoding everything I have 22.62 Meg Program memory and 178.88 Sorage memory (and everything is loaded on the device too).
So far all is good on this one.
PS Don't take Olipro's comments to heart....if you read his tag...he abuses everyone....lol

Use the Hard SPL from the link...that is THE only one that works.
Radio 1.46.30 was the standard Radio and I now have 1.50.08.11
Check out the radios etc here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1951469&postcount=3

great to hear. the rom seems to be fairly stable, and its nice and quick. which for me personally is what i want in a phone
one thing i should mention to people as well running vista to do this is that for every part of flashing the phone, vista may attempt and succeed in "installing device drivers" which in turn means you need to point it to the vista-compatible drivers for it to work (as per the guide) every time to progress to the next part, otherwise a 260 keeps occuring.
Thank you for your wonderful and useful guide!
Thank you!
200% hype abt flashing! Finally!
Hey folks I need a little help
I've downloaded:
- Mary 3.7 Lite, Mary 3.7.1 and PDAVIET 37
- Olipro 130, Olipro 120 and Des Crash Proof
I've tried hard to mix all possibilities like Olipro 130 and Mary 3.7, Olipro 130 and Mary 3.7.1 and etc
After several tries i was kinda desperate since none worked then after testing Mary 3.7.1 and Des Crash Proof, TADA! Worked!
Well, the point here is understanding why I couldnt make the other ROMs work.
Could you please help me understading why?
Also I have another question, when a ROM was bad installed, in these cases above the 0% stats were freeze in the PDA while I had a bad connection problem showing in computer ( error 246 i think ) so the PDA was stuck in the bootloader mode =( And I just could enter my old WM6 by upgrading the radio. Is there another way to do it? I was pretty disappointed upgrading the Radio so many times. LOL

If you have a P3600i then according to the info you have above....you downloaded the WRONG Hard SPL.
Go back to the very first post on this thread and read it carefully. There is a link there to the correct Hard SPL from Olipro...and it isn't 130, 120 or Des Crash Proof.
genipao, it was rather surprise you had picked the wrong hard spl and doing some mix and match and it still work?
All experts,
please render help to me for my CHT9110 (P3600i - IPL-Trin100, SPL-3.03.0000, CPU-Samsung 500Mhz, NAND-256MB) that I flashed successfully with hardSPL 3.10 Oplira. this is working and wonderful SPL with the JumpSPL included. Good job done by Oplira!
However when I tried to upgrade P3600i from WM6.0 to WM6.1, I missed the step to tag 401 from 400 when I re-build New_NBH.file for my phone. At a result, I encounterd WM6.1 ROM flashing incomplete at 80% and forced to reset due to hang-up...
Now, my P3600i still can boot up to flash-screen logo, loading radio image (1.56.70.11) and then protocal services (32.89.7020.20H), then it will hand-up forever on flash screen logo.... (until i did the hard reset, then it will re-boot! terrible now!!)
i suspected it was unable to locate the WM6.1 and loading up accordingly....
I tried out many option, to downgrade SPL 1.1, SPL1.2, SPL 2.1 and used SPLxploit to clear the stack in bootloader... all is falied and my bootloader still shown SPL-3.03.0000 and don't allow to re-flash any ROM under bootloader mode now!!
Experts! please assist me,
How can I roll-back the default OS on phone if any? or there is alternative way to recover OS to flash in for recovery? I think firstly we need to crack SPL-3.03.000 in bootloader mode...
Many thanks!
Hi klemtest,
can you guide me on flashing CHT9110?
I couldnt seems to get it flash even after following the instruction.
Appreciate your help
i just followed Ajajaj Quoted, please allow me to share...
Step 1 - Anyway First of all, load the Hard SPL to your phone from : Set
<Klemtest>
Step 1.1 - go and download Hard-SPL-p3600i-V1.1.zip (810.6 KB, 438 views)
Step 1.2 - extract SPL-p3600i-V1.1.zip file onto your local drive
Step 1.3 - connect P3600i via USB, ensure you are under ACTIVESYNC mode in WindowXP (if you use Windows Vista, the you need Vista driver for detecting HTC phone at USB)
Step 1.4 - execute the ROMupdateutility from SPL-p3600i-v1.1 folder, ensure there is RUU_signed.nbh file available, otherwise the utility will prompt u for read file error.
Step 1.5 - once it executed, follows the instruction given from ROMupdateutility screen, until you see the progress bar show up, meanwhile u will notice that p3600i phone will prompt you for ROM upgrading message, click "Yes" to accept and proceed. Sequence pop-up message will be asked again in p3600i for using JumpSPL.exe to unlock CID,
Again click "Yes" to accept and proceed. ROMUpdateutility will complete 100% and your p3600i display will be turned to SPL-3.10 Oplira in bootloader mode now (if the ROMupdateUtility indicated there is update error, just ignore it and exit utility screen)
don't switch off your p3600i, let it continue showing SPL-3.10 Oplira in bootloader display.
Dude! you're now ready for step2 to flashing your favor WM6.0 / WM6.1 once you manage the "nbh" file which I didn't done it properly!!
So, I assumed you have downloaded the working ROM and extract them in local folder as stated in Step-2
Step 2 - So, what I did was to download RUU_TRINITY_WM6.1_WWE_ASIA_3.12.YK.Lite extract into its own folder (Mary seems to work as well)
Due to p3600i is manufactured with 256 NAND, memory address for storing "OS.nb" slightly difference compared to p3600 (CHT9100) with 128 MB RAM.
Hence, ajajaj advice to use ROMBaker.exe to exract "XX_OS.nb" your favor OS ROM (usually named as RUU_signed.nbh) that you downloaded and re-build it using NBHGEN.exe.
All this stuff is available here Custom RUU tools
In this case, 2 screens captured below showing u how to distingish it
(for wrong re-build of OS.nb at 400)
C:> NBHGEN.exe new_nbh.txt
TRIN100
SuperCID
Klemtest
XDADevelopers
100,00_IPL.nb
600,02_MainSplash.nb
601,03_SubSplash.nb
900,04_ExtROM.nb
300,05_GSM.nb
400,06_OS.nb
(for correct re-build of OS.nb at 401)
C:> NBHGEN.exe correct_nbh.txt
TRIN100
SuperCID
Klemtest
XDADevelopers
100,00_IPL.nb
600,02_MainSplash.nb
601,03_SubSplash.nb
900,04_ExtROM.nb
300,05_GSM.nb
401,06_OS.nb
you can follow the step below until step9 if you're not familar of using custom RUU tools:
Step 3 - then download the custom ruu updated from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295113 - also get the rombaker for trinity as found further down in the post.
Step 4 - unzip the custom_ruu stuff, put in the downloaded trinity rombaker to replace extracted rombaker,
Step 4a - Copy ruu_signed.nbh file that is found in folder created in Step 2 to the rombaker/workshop folder created in step 4
Step 5 - then use nbhextract (created in step 4) to extract the ruu_signed.nbh file that is now in the workshop folder
Step 6 - watch the output. (for file names)
Step 7 - Run the rombaker program and load the extracted files into their places (as referred to in step 6), then click generate NBH
It will ask you to save a file. call it new_nbh (or whatever you want) -
Step 8 - open this file (created in step 7) in notepad, and change the number 400 (about 5 lines down) to 401 save and exit
Step 9 - then open a dos/cmd/command.com window (whatever you want to call it), cd to the rombaker/workshop folder and then run the following:
nbhgen new_nbh.txt
NOTE: new_nbh.txt should be the same as the filename created in step 7
copy the generated RUU_signed.nbh file back to the RUU_TRINITY_WM6.1_WWE_ASIA_3.12.YK.Lite folder.
Your p3600i rom is now ready for flashing
<Klemtest>
Step-10 - after you have managed to get re-build RUU_Signed.nbh file by yourself. you can proceed last stage for completion.
As I mentioned, you continue keep your bootloader screen at SPL-3.10 Oplira just now. launch again RUUupdateutility.exe
Note: At this point, your personal data from the phone will be destroy, please make sure you back-up all data before regret and ensure ActiveSync is disable during execution the flashing.
Screen1 - On the Welcome Screen, click Next to begin the ROM update installation.
Screen2 - On the next screen, follow the listed instructions in the dialog box first. When you are done, click Next to proceed.
Note: Ignore the instructions listed due to you are flashing via bootloader mode, and ActiveSync is disable.
Screen3 - The following message will then be displayed, indicating that the utility is verifying and acquiring information about the device as preparation for the update process. Wait for this verification process to finish.
Screen4 - Below the device information, information about the new ROM update will then be displayed. If you are certain that you want to install the phone with the new ROM update, click Next to proceed.
Screen5 - confirmation message then appears and shows the length of time it will take to copy the necessary files (including radio image) to the device. Click Next to begin the update.
Screen6 - A progress bar will run through the screen during the update process.
Note: In the middle of the update process, the progress bar may stop running. This is normal as the RUU is adjusting itself to complete the update process automatically. (probably will take up 10 minutes)
6. When you see the screen shown CONGRATULATION message! means update is complete. Click Finish to exit the utility. Otherwise, you will have trouble now to troubleshoot per below steps!
GOOD LUCK and happy computing!

SIM Unlock help...

Hi all,
I had an O2 XDA Stellar which I believe is the HTC TYTN II. However, this phone was stolen a couple of weeks back. I purchased a second hand one today which is sim locked to the orange network. I managed to break the lock by following the instructions on this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835. I followed the instructions word for word till step 5.
The problem is now though it accepts the SIM and I can dial out, I don't have any audio on the calls So I can call and my phone also rings when I receive a call but I can't hear the caller nor can I be heard at the other end
Also, I hate the orange rom (and I used to complain about the O2 rom) and I wish to use the default HTC WM 6.1 professional upgrade the problem again is that it asks for a serial number and my serial number starts with DCOxxxxxxxxxxx and it says that this is not a valid serial number
What do I do now? Has my phone become a brick Please do help I can't bear the thought of having one stolen and the other toasted by me
All help will be greatly appreciated

Did you actually read anything or did you just start hacking away ? I will cut and paste a few items out of that thread, so that you don't have to actually read it .
PLEASE READ THE *FAQ* BEFORE FLASHING OR ASKING QUESTIONS!!!
* IF YOU DONT NEED TO FLASH A NEW ROM THEN PROCEED TO STEP 6 TO PUT YOUR DESIRED RADIO BACK*
7. After I flash a Rom I dont have any sound in calls and the camera is black
The Radio has to match the version of Rom you flash i.e. WM6.1, an incorrect Radio will give sound and camera problems. Read The Ultimate Radio Thread to find a Radio that matches the Rom there are lots to try on there if one doesnt work then try another.
3. What are the different types of Unlock?[/B] (answer by DaveShaw)
The three stages of unlock are:
SIM: Allows you to use SIM's from another carrier. Can be done using codes or unlocker programs on xda-devs.
Security: Allows you to flash radios from another device - It does other stuff, but this is all the casual user will use it for
CID: CID unlocking is an old concept, nowadays you flash HardSPL instead. This lets you flash any ROM, Splash or Radio (depending on sec unlock) to your device. N.B. the CID is the carrier ID (e.g. HTC__001). The stock SPL's only let you flash ROM's that match the CID in the ROM image with the CID on your device.
Obviously you did not unlock your phone if a serial number is needed to flash a new rom. I would re read everything and do it again
Thanks for the reply

As you can see I'm a bit of a newbie here, so wasn't too sure if I did need to flash to a new rom. But I did anyway. And the call problems still remain

I've been through this link as well and I was contemplating installing the latest version of the HTC WM6.1 ROMS (version 3.34.721.2, radio version 1.70.19.09) available at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs However I was not sure if this would be ok and (at the risk of sounding extremely dumb) I was not sure what WWE stood for

I maintained the default that was given by the unlocker for the CID (I think all zeros). Do I have to change this as per the ROM image? I don't mind re-doing this again it's a relief that my device isn't busted
No your phone isn't busted. Go into bootloader and check what it says next to spl, if you followed Mark's steps, it should say 3.29 Hard. If that is what it says ,then you can flash any Kaiser rom you want. If it doesn't then start over again.
WWE stands for World Wide English and those roms are all in English. That rom you picked will be fine, if you do not wish to explore the fine world of custom roms ? Maybe later.
You only have to CID unlock once by following the steps, not at every rom flash.
No sound means wrong radio, 6.0 roms need 6.0 radios and 6.1 roms need 6.1 radios. If the rom has a radio in it already then flash away.
Thanks Denco Flashed the ones I mentioned and it works perfect. Can't believe I actually have a working device Thanks for all your help, really great.
Now to sync my data to my new (second hand) htc and I'm good to go
Another question, the device works fine, however since it is a HK rom, it seems to have localised to HK. I've changed this as much as possible to UK. However, I'm wondering if this will affect anything else? For example the gps? Is there any quicker way to configure this globally so all settings use UK instead of HK?
Why didn't you flash the latest UK ROM.
Use this code: HT750GB02264 to download from HTC's site.

Once you are unlocked and HardSpl'd you can flash any rom you want. Pick a UK one another WWE rom or a custom rom. Test a bunch until you have one you like. Your only restriction is it has to be a Kaiser rom. And with all the Kaiser roms available, it is not a restriction at all.

Wow, thanks for that, I was looking for a valid serial through which I can download from the htc uk site One question I had is do I install the radio which I download from htc? Or do I keep the one I have already flashed? The one I have flashed yesterday seems to be a later version than what I've downloaded from htc

1. I keep hearing on this forum about Hard SPL, I'm not sure what this is used for or why it is required but I followed the instructions and it seems I had installed JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe. Now, since then I had flashed the rom, so do I need to reinstall this again? Is there some other one I should be using? I come across different versions on some threads. Also, how can I check the version of HardSPL I have?
2. When I view the memory (under settings) it shows me Storage and Program. However, I can't seem to see any storage area in file explorer. I know in my old xda 2i, there used to be a separate storage area. The reason is because some of the apps I install are quite bulky for example lexisgoo english dictionary (the dictionary files themselves are about 18mb) and this fills up the main memory. How can I install this in the storage memory? (not storage card since I sometimes swap storage cards)
Sorry lot of questions I know, but I'm a newbie and all help will be greatly appreciated
The UK downloaded ROM will install the radio too.
I would do a bit of testing with your current set-up, then flash the UK ROM.
Test the new UK ROM & radio & then reflash the radio only if you want (do some searching on Radio versions)
Newer versions are not always best, chasing the latest builds normally bites you in the ass at the end of the day.
Check HardSPL by going into bootloader:
* Using a stylus, press and hold the soft reset button at the bottom of the phone along with the camera button
* Release both buttons once the bootloader screen appears
* Exit bootloader by pressing soft reset button
Once you have installed HardSPL thats it, job done (you installed it during unlocking)
What you see in file explorer regarding storage is correct: 128MB RAM for running software ect & 256MB ROM for storing your programs ect (WM2003SE was different)
ROM can be increased by using one of the cooked lite ROMs if storage space is a concern.

Will do, the HK version seems very stable, the only thing that bothers me is the region settings. Anyway, I think I'll give the UK Rom a go and if that works well I'll stick with it

I've attached a screenshot of my memory screen. The bit that puzzles me is that the storage area apparently has a lot more storage but I do not have an option to install all my applications on that area or atleast the bulky ones. I don't think I need a lite one since I do have 112MB free in the storage area which is more than sufficient for all the apps I usually install. Can you advise how I can install apps to the storage area as well?
Lastly, I was wondering if it is possible for me install my apps on the rom and then kind of take an image of my setup and flash the rom with this setup. That way when I do a hard reset, all my apps are installed again. Which will save me the trouble I know sprite backup does something like this but I'd prefer if it was in the rom
Thanks for all your help, it has given me a lot of confidence in these matters. Something I probably wouldn't have attempted

I agree 101% and it appears fewer resources are put into ironing out bugs in the WM 6.1 ROMs than the WM 6.0 ones. I replied to fmervin's post in the ROM forums along these lines.
If all is running OK I would stick with your current HardSPL.
When installing your applications choose the option of installing to "Device"
You could install all your apps into a ROM, this would be cooking a ROM & is a complex process.
I would suggest a backup via Sprite or SPB. I use SPB v2.0 build3065 & it works well for me, preference of backup software is a bit of a Marmite scenario, you either love it or hate it.

You can't do that, it is flash memory. It's not like you can partition the hard drive.
But this is the easiest way to get your Apps and settings back after a flash.
Try this Sashimi Auto installer by a former XDA member. It is a nice little program that installs all your apps after a flash

Help Please
Hey Denco..Than'x for considering my thread & giving out suggestion towards the link to check the info. But i m really nt that techy afterall so i can burn a ROM on my Tytn II. Even though i tried to burn a RUU rom that supports TyTN II ..Its just gets disconnected from USB mode..So i was looking forward to start it initially with some comparatively easier to install .cab files..Can't these RUU files be transformed into .cab files or maybe some other version of Manila 3D cab file that is completely fixed...I seriously have done a lot of research upon this but nothing looks like working. So please if you have some links to .cab files that can give a better & different look to my Kaiser running Windows 6.1...It'l be a great help !!
Than'x & regards in advance

I think you need to decide what it is that you want to accomplish. Unless you cook your own rom, there is no way to add apps to the rom ( so that they will remain after a hard reset) Your rom is wyour phone's base operating system, it contains your OS (WM 6.1 ) and can only be replaced after completely erasing and replacing all files from the previous rom.
If it is a new rom you want, pick a rom that interests you and follow these instructions verbatim .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
Your phone will go to the bootloader screen ( three color) and it will disconnect from usb during the process, but be patient until the end. When it says it takes ten minutes, it takes ten minutes. Leave the room if you have to , to keep from getting impatient.
If you just want to keep your OEM WM 6.1 and keep it simple, but change the look of your phone try this,
http://www.htcwiki.com/page/Manila+2D+and+M2D+Themes
This will change the look and feel of your phone with uninstallable .cab files and will not affect the rom or brick your phone by accident.

[Resources] Flashing your First GSM Rhodium Rom (For Noobs)

PLEASE READ THE *FAQ* BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS!!
IF YOU HAVE A CDMA DEVICE THEN GO *HERE* FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO HARDSPL
IF YOU NEED TO HARD RESET OR ENTER BOOTLOADER YOU CAN FIND INSTRUCTIONS *HERE*
Before starting, backup anything you might want to keep after the new Rom has been flashed as all contacts, emails, texts, notes, Internet BookMarks WILL be lost!!
PimBackup is good and free (copy any mms attachments to your storage card or computer seperately)
*ONCE YOU HAVE FLASHED A HARDSPL ITS PERMANENT. YOU DONT NEED TO DO IT AGAIN WHEN FLASHING NEW ROMS OR RADIOS*
*DO NOT start another process while the flashing process is taking place*
*DO NOT click off of the status bar... Let it stay in the foreground*
*DO NOT let the Screensaver activate*
Any of these can lead to a bad flash and possibly brick your phone
*FLASH HARDSPL BEFORE FLASHING ANY CUSTOM ROMS*
1. YOUR DEVICE MUST HAVE AT LEAST 50% BATTERY POWER FIRST BEFORE ATTEMPTING EACH STAGE
2. FLASH HARDSPL
The Original HardSPL Thread is *HERE*
IMPORTANT: Each user gets 1 license, or perhaps 2-3 on request if needed (valid forever and works as transparently as possible, so it won't be a problem at all)
you can send a request for 1-2 more devices for private user (free) at http://support.htc-unlocks.com (ONLY at this link, not in PM).
NOTE1: This package is for Rhodium (Touch Pro 2, not the original Touch Pro) devices. CDMA-GSM worldphone version is not accepted (RHOD400, RHOD500 modelids), that will have its own HardSPL later. This HardSPL supports WM6.5
NOTE2: If you have Vista or Windows 7, update WMDC to v6.1 *HERE* first
Flashing via ActiveSync with USB Lead (thanks to OliNex)
1. Download HardSPL package from *HERE* and extract to an empty folder
2. Synch Phone with PC in Windows Mobile!!! It has to be connected to activesync or WMDC via USB cable and it must not be in Flight/Airplane mode (i.e. radio should be on)
3. NEW: Internet access is required as the program checks online for updates and license
4. Run Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3.exe on PC, make sure it's launched from a local drive (not through network drive, etc.). XP requires Admin logon and Vista/Windows 7 will automatically prompt to allow it to run in Admin mode, allow it. If you get an AntiVirus warning please ignore it, it contains no harmful code (just used a packer to compress it).
5. Follow steps as prompted in the HardSPL program. If this is the first run of HardSPL on a device after Hard Reset, you must select Automatic Flash Mode (first button in Welcome Screen)
NOTE: You should usually go for Automatic Flash Mode. The Manual Flash option is only to be used as noted below and you must only attempt the Manual Mode option if Automatic Flash Mode or SSPL-Manual.exe already put device in black screen. Any other errors triggered while running in Autoflash Mode will have to be fixed as instructed in the error message.
6. It will ask you to wait while it prepares for the flashing, press OK
7. Now it should go through without any error messages, if one does pop up then follow the instructions included in the error text. If no specific instruction is shown then ask for help in the thread, but this should not ever occur (as this means a really fatal error occurred)
8. At this point the phone hopefully went to a black screen (reporting version as 1.01.C-SSPL only using "info 7" in mtty), this is the SSPL version, which is temporary. Then RUU will instantly launch
9. NOTE: When RUU says it will Hard Reset do not worry, it is not going to do that. Also when it says the flash will take 10 minutes ignore that, it will only take a minute or so
10. SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done
*Go into BootLoader Mode (do a Soft Reset while holding the "volume down" key on the left side of the device. Keep holding the "volume down" key until you see tricolour screen which is the bootloader mode, then release it) and verify the screen shows 0.85.OliNex, which is the HardSPL version*
NOTE1: This is unsigned HardSPL. No limitations on flashing ROMs (except of course some Radio roms). Also this has overwrite protection against HTC RUU's overwriting HSPL with a stock one. See steps in the Original thread about how to reflash stock SPL.
NOTE2: Anyone having USB problems with the device after it enters SSPL mode, download SSPL-Manual-Rhodium.exe, copy it to the phone and run it. Once the screen has gone black, run the HardSPL package on the PC and select Manual Flash option.
*IMPORTANT* Make sure that the USB cable is plugged in and device is synched to Windows Mobile even if doing manual method.
NOTE3: Do not use this RUU for anything other than SPL flashing (i.e. hardspl or stock spl restore)!!! Nothing other than SPL's made by Olinex team (using OliNex custom cert, which is not public) will flash to make SSPL more secure. If you want to flash another rom then use shipped RUU or Rhodium customRUU if you want to flash cooked ROM.
3. DOWNLOAD AND FLASH YOUR PREFERED ROM
NOTE: Check the Roms Thread for any specific Flashing instructions. If there arent any then you can use the following guide.
Flashing Via ActiveSync
1. Download your prefered Rom from the Rhodium Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your computer
2. REMOVE SIM and microSD CARDS!!
3. Turn phone back on and wait until it syncs with your PC
4. Run the CustomRUU.exe from the Roms Folder (if one isnt included then download it *HERE*)
5. Follow onscreen instructions to set up your New Rom
6. Once phone has gone through the customisation procedure then replace Sim and microSD Cards
7. Turn phone back on and set up as required
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Rhodium Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RHODIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RHODIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
4. FLASH PREFERED RADIO (OPTIONAL)
For more information about compatible Radios go *HERE*
Flashing Via ActiveSync
1. Sync your phone with the PC
2. Run CustomRUU.exe from the Radio's Folder and follow the instructions (if one isnt included then download it *HERE*)
Flashing via MicroSD Card
Use same method as Flashing a Rom via MicroSD Card
5. JOB DONE. Well Done YOU DID IT!!

FAQ for Flashing your First Rhodium Rom
FAQ
1. What Operating systems are supported for Flashing HardSPL?
Supported OS versions: 32bit and 64bit XP, Vista, Windows 7RC and later. win2000 was untested, and pre-RC win7 (lower than build 7100) is explicitly not supported. Also the program may be unstable or not work on Virtual systems, so it's recommended to try outside Virtual OS software. Also version verify: if HardSPL package says V120R in first Welcome dialog title (and version 1.20 in About box) it is the latest version, not some crappy beta/old version.

2. Why is it recommended to remove the Sim Card and microSD Card before Flashing?
microSD Card removal is recommended just in case any self booting programs or UC setup files are on there that might interupt or conflict with the setup procedure after flashing.
Sim Card removal is recommended because as soon as your phone reboots after flashing your phone will be live and if you get a call or text message during the initial setup it might interfere and ruin the setup.
If you flashed with both the cards in it should be fine as long as none of the above situations happened. Just be aware for future flashes

3. What are the different types of Unlock? (answer by DaveShaw)
The three stages of unlock are:
SIM: Allows you to use SIM's from another carrier. Can be done using codes or unlocker programs on xda-devs.
Security: Allows you to flash radios from another device (radios intended for your device only need Hard SPL) - It does other stuff, but this is all the casual user will use it for
CID: CID unlocking is an old concept, nowadays you flash Hard SPL instead. Hard SPL lets you flash any ROM, Splash or Radio (depending on sec unlock) to your device. The stock SPL's only let you flash signed ROM images that match the CID & Model of your device. N.B. the CID is the carrier ID (e.g. HTC__001, or VODAP100).
Also, SuperCID is setting your CID to a value that allows you to flash other signed (shipped) ROMs, even if the CIDs are different after removing Hard SPL. - SuperCID is performed by the Olipro unlocker.
---------------------------
4. What is the difference between ROM and RADIO?
The Rom is the operating system and included patches, tweaks and programs. The Radio is a seperate part of the firmware on the phone that handles all communation related matters such as signal, gps, bluetooth, camera, wifi and sound. Newer Radios to include improvements or fixes in older version, or even just to compliment an existing Rom or network so a newer Radio isnt neccessarily better. Radios also need to be matched to the correct Rom so you cant just put any Radio and Rom together.
---------------------------
5. How do Stock ROMS differ from Cooked ROMS?
Stock Roms usually have extra 'bloatware' added which take up extra space on the phone. Custom Roms are stripped down to provide more space and most are tweaked to provide a faster more stable Operating System. Every chef is different so you have to look around the forums to see which Rom is best for your needs.

Great post for people thats new
Nice one Mark.

i have to say, that no matter what color font, special &$^#%@ that you use, someone will NOT follow the directions. This is a VERY in-depth guide!

Too true....I remember how scared I was when doing my first flash on my Wizard though. Somethin like this at the time would have put my mind at ease (would have probably scared me to death even more at the same time! ).
It's funny how, with experience, that fear fades away and you just flash as if you've been doing it all your life. Some people will learn the hard way...others will read, read, read like I did many years ago! (as they most definitely should)
Nice post mskip.
When flashing a new ROM via Active Sync, is it really necessary to remove the SIM-card and SD-card? I didn't and the flashing did go well. No problems at all!
Just extra precaution against wiping your cards out or God forbid getting incomming phone signal during flash and having that interfere!

Unfortunately flashing HardSPL on a Rhodium is a very in depth process and no shortcuts can be taken for the safety of the phone. The purpose of this guide is to give someone the whole process from flashing HardSPL to changing the Rom or Radio and save them having to keep 4 or 5 screens open with all the different information.
I remember when I first flashed my OLD Hermes many many years ago (god that makes me sound old haha) I was trying to pull all the information I needed together and ended up with over 15 pages all with different information and different methods on how to do the same thing and it took months off my flashing life.
I only made this up last night and the HardSPL information is taken directly from the creators thread. I will go through the HardSPL section and try to "dumb" it down so its easier to understand but if people want to customise their device then they HAVE to be prepared to follow all the steps to the letter and not complain that its too hard or too in depth.
This is the third one stop flashing guide I have written and the other ones have helped thousands of people flash their phones, the fancy fonts and colours are just their to help point things out
Any improvemants or additions are welcome (although my 10000 character limit has already been reached so if I add something then something else has to be taken off)
no problem to flash an official rom later?
you talk about : "CDMA-GSM worldphone version is not accepted (RHOD400, RHOD500 modelids)"
i'm the owner of the european htc touch pro 2, is it supported or not? thx

Once you have HardPSL on your phone then you are free to flash Official or custom Roms as you desire.
Im sure the Touch Pro 2 is supported but if you are unsure in any way then ask in the developers thread.
Ok I've got a question. In the starting post is sais that the HARD-SPL is permanent. Is it really permanent, or can you change the HARD-SPL later on when updates are brought out?
I guess it is permanent in a way that it won't be removed after you reflash you device. But it can be altered right? (Because there are updates brought out for HARD-SPL also

It means it cannot be replaced by a stock SPL. There is a flag in the Hard SPL to prevent it from being overwritten. You must use SSPL to change the SPL version - PS the relocker in the Hard SPL thread will revert you to Stock SPL if need be.

Mark, you forgot SD card Flashing - RHODIMG.ngh

Sorry Master
When I was writing the guide I didnt see anything about microSD Card flashing so I thought it best to leave it out. Plus I knew that you would pick up anything I left out
I will add it to the Rom and Radio flashing steps but I totally maxed out my post already. Any chance you can bung me another 5000 characters I promise I will pay you back next week Failing that I will have to do some drastic rewording or spread the guide over the first 2 posts

Another scream for help...

Hi,
I have my HD from march and being interested in WM6.5 and disappointed by HTC because they do not release an upgrade I decided to try some cooked roms.
I used USPL so that I can keep my original SPL.
I tried:
* Duttys WM6.5 Sense 2.1 Holy Grail
* Duttys WM6.5 Leo Holy Grail
* Topix HD
From the first boot I have noisy screen image with 4 colours or something .... but after entering in sleep mode and restore it recovers to normal "true color" until I reset the device. I can live with that but the real issue is that I cannot start my phone using the original radio neither with the latest versions I found for HTC HD. No error there, it simply stays off after I confirm that I want to enable the phone.
Also the device is hanging for very long time now and then and I have exactly the same problem/behaviour with all the above roms. I tried some fixes found in the forum but nothing works and I did not found anybody with the same weird behaviour.
I wand to recover my stock firmware but I found that even I brought mine from Romania it has a Czech S/N and HTC does not provide a stock ROM for this "v1.56.402 - Czech republic - not supported".
What can I do. do you guys know if I can get the original firmware from somewhere?
Thanks.
Obviously you havent bothered to read anything let alone the guidelines of starting new threads.
The answers are in the forum I suggest you take time to read and start by reading the forum guidelines and the sticky threads.
If you dont understand what you're doing then stick to a stock ROM until you do or you might brick your phone.
You say that you used uspl. Are you sure that it was successful as the symptoms you describe are typical when you have the incorrect spl for the rom you are using. After using uspl, what spl is showing in the bootloader screen?
Follow the steps in the Dummies Guide to Flashing and your problems should be sorted out.
If you still have further questions, post them in that thread as the mods will close this one as soon as they come across it (as explained by homer285)
you're ok as long as you can still go to bootloader mode, then go back to the uspl 2.5 guide here, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS STEP BY STEP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
and here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462347
format your sd card using fat32 (full format) (if you are a frequent flasher I suggest you get a small capacity sd card – 1Gb - and devote this only for flashing)
rename the RUU_signed.nbh to BLACIMG.nbh and pair this with ROMUpdateUtility -(application file) OR BlackstoneRUUWrapper (whichever the ROM cook presents) copy these TWO files in your formatted sd card.
then using Digital Outcast's USPL GUI: look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508361
if you're using Vista see this to update your sync driver
http://www.modaco.com/content/windo...u-on-vista-it-can-be-done-the-ultimate-guide/
flash the ROM.
I hope I make the above clear to you.
suggestion: Read the howtos!
If I was you I would do like this:
- flash hspl.
- flash latest radio from memorystick
- flash any 23xxx-rom from memstick (miri or phamQ can I recommend).
Cant understand why you are doing it the complicated way... there are ways to recover to original-spl if needed. This is the easyest way to flash 6.5 and it is almost fail-safe.
good luck!

dont add to the confusion, he is already using USPL, the SAFEST METHOD as stated by Dutty Throy, he even advocates this in all of his cooked ROMs
all he needs to do is to redo the steps again as i posted above.
Sorry for my panic post
Yes, after 8 hours of trying stuff I did not read post guide-lines but I searched all the internet and xda forums, tried all the dumb fixes for my weird behaviours without any success.
I am sure that my original rom it is not available and I call for help from people that have Czech S/N English version to extract the flash and the radio if it is no so complicated or if they have it as backup.
Actually I read every "flashing for dummies" posts and only when I thought I got everything I started to flash it.
I used the latest 2.5 USPL, the GUI one and also the command line from the cmd prompt so I saw all the output lines and there was no error at all. It is clear that the device was successfully flashed and I respected all the version requirements stated in description of the packages. The problem comes from some sort of incompatibility. The versions at boot is the right one.
The only wrong thing I did was after seeing USPL 2.5 coloured boot loader I go on with the tutorial which said to read on screen RUU instructions which said to connect with activesync and I did as they said and restart the device, cradle and continue flashing in which case the original SPL started and I got a flashing error on the desktop client but after restarting the device everything run normally with the stock firmware and I think I have a good understanding on how it work and I can say that that error does not hurt a bit.
I finally succeed, in the morning, to flash 6.1 vanilla topaz and almost everything works except the GPS module and I am investigating this issue.
It is clear that you cannot help me an my device issue related to WM6.5 roms are unique and I will investigate this on my own.
Sorry to everybody, again, for my wrong located post and have a nice day.
