G1 Rom question - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a ROM for the G1 that would give it multi-touch for zoom and more than 3 screens (middle, left, right)? Something fast and stable?

Yeah, Cyanogen has that...search!!

one other question - is there a music app that is kinda like Media Player, that shows album art and kinda has a library where I can flick through album art? And can play video files?
If not, I was considering programming it myself....which I hope is not too difficult.

the cab files are installation files for Windows Mobile devices....not for Android, my friend
I like Meridian, simply because it can play music and video and it has finger gesture controls (tap to pause/play, and swiping to fast forward/rewind in the song/video). But it doesn't have a very nice UI yet.

is there a coverflow mp3 player like iphone??

i wanna use my hero like an ipod, i have tons of mp3 and i was wondering if any of you knows a nice mp3 browser with album view like iphone coverflow... thanx!!!
Doesnt the HTC Stock MusicApp look pretty similar to the iPhone's? It has cover flow aswell oO
Cubed is the slickest android mp3 player around at the moment.
I like the wall mode best, but the Morph flow is quite near coverflow if you would prefer that.
btunes is based on the iphone music app, looks the same to me but i dont know how similar the performance is.
Yes there is search in the market for ''cubed'' or just look here http://www.androlib.com/android.application.org-abrantix-rockon-rockonnggl-pwit.aspx
I love this player
Rockon? Which version? The last one I tested was buggy as hell, simply unusable for me... Btunes has a lot of potential but needs to mature a bit I think
Qissmusic is pretty smooth too
my vote goes for ^3 or Cubed. Its simply awesome...

Samsung music and video player

Not sure if these can be ported but here they are if anyone wants to give it a shot
Probably need touchwiz framework to get it going.... wouldn't be impossible, but most likely not simple either
added touchwiz framework
Not sure if that's whats needed to get codecs working on NS i really have no clue really but music play itself IMO is really good, much better than stock
So does this work?

no at the moment
Since it has only been one day, I am sure this will get ported. I also hope that Samsung Media Hub is ported over while waiting for Netflix!
At the very least it would be great to get the codecs. SGS plays everything under the sun.

Bumping this request because compared to my Galaxy S, the stock camera, music player, and video player on Gingerbread are pathetic. Anybody hear of anything on the Galaxy S apps working on the Nexus S? (seriously considering going back to my SGS)
Bump, all stock media players are just awful.
I'm looking into the same thing.. In addition to the Player I'd like to port the Clock apk and the dual-clock widget.
The SGS Clock apk is very handy with world clock/timer/stop watch in addition to the Alarm clock it self.
If anyone can do so?
Here I attach the apks
i also like the sgs calculator better. you could minimize the numbers and see your history of what you've calculated.

Its long been known that porting any of the stock Samsung apps is completely impossible without the entire TouchWiz framework. If you are desperate for these apps you should work on having a port of TouchWiz for the Nexus S however, and I hate to have to be frank like this, I wouldn't hold your breath. The general consensus seems to be that there aren't devs interested in porting TouchWiz.

[Q] Music apk

Guys, can anyone send a link to Google Music 3.0.1. Since i'm from Brazil i can't get the app form Android Market.
Thanks.
If you use Market Enabler ( at hxxps://market.android.com/details?id=com.notenking.mf&feature=search_result ), you can switch to the US market, and get it that way. I did that to try it out, wasn't impressed (dont have an invite for the cloud features, which I think is the real point) and went back to cloudskipper.
Tks dude, great tip!
Thanks...
Sent from my MotoA953 using XDA App

Give a try to ³ (cubed) from Felipe Abrantes.
I like apollo, but I really miss a landscape mode. Is there any thread to get news about development, planned features etc?
Wooow
Thanks for the tip man.
Is there a way to use this app without root my phone?

Media Players with Library Scans

Hey fellas,
I wanted to find out if any of you knew audio players with library scanners of their own. I want it to scan my folders and make up a song list of its own rather than depending on the SDcard scan of Android it self.
I already know two apps which can do this but searching for alternatives:
1. Poweramp (obviously)
2. TTpod (was quite surprised to find this)
So are there better ones? I've already tried PlayerPro, Z player, etc
Thank you
EDIT: I think I posted in the wrong section! Ma bad..
No better music player than PowerAMP <-nerd actually, not cool,so.. : oldcool:

Haha cant disagree there. But i'm trying to create a WP7 replica and poweramp doesn't seem to have a good enough skin
Z Player has a very clean interface. Simple and light. Give it a try.

Yeah theres Zplayer as valakas said and Ubermusic afaik. Tried them both. But they are quite simple. No library scanners. But anyway thanks for the help guys. Let this thread die down. I'll settle with PowerAmp
