Update to "TimeTracker"

I don't know if this is kosher or not, so if it's not please let me know promptly.
I use the app "TimeTracker" all the time. Every single day at work. That thing keeps me from getting overtime (and therefore a write-up).
Only a couple of problems with it. Currently it only has the ability to set the week start date on Sunday or Monday. Mine starts Saturday. I know others have posted on the comments for it requesting other start days too.
Second problem is that if you are working past midnight, it keeps those hours on the previous day (i.e. you start work at 11pm on the 2nd and work until 7am on the 3rd. It says you worked 8 hours on the 2nd). This doesn't jive with the way my company keeps track of our time. We are auto clocked out at midnight and then clocked back in. Therefore all hours of a day belong to that physical day.
Unfortunately it appears the developer has abandoned this application. No updates since March and it doesn't look like we'll be hearing anything at all from him in the mean time.
Is it kosher to ask someone else to update this app? It's a free app if that has any thing to do with it. Or create one from the ground up that has this same basic premise?
I so greatly wish for certain features to be updated in this, that I would be more than willing to provide a donation to whomever is able to update this app (or create one from scratch that performs the same basic function).
I have a feeling that it's probably not kosher, but I'm not an expert on this and I really need those updates.
This might be a better received thread if it was posted in the applications forum.

I tired it there with no results, so I deleted that thread and moved it here.
I'll take a look at the app later in the week and see if there is anything I can do to the source. It also appears that the dev is still keeping track of issues according to his google code page
http://code.google.com/p/android-timetracker/
Not sure if he "abandoned" it so much as just hasn't been able to push out an update as of late. Most dev have "real" jobs that they must tend to and develop in their "spare" time.

Rant about Coreplayer Support

I've already posted this on the Coreplayer Board at http://forum.corecodec.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3465 but in case they delete it I wanted other people to know about it. Also, the problem I am describing? In the Smartphone version on my Sprint Snap I cannot access my Favorites from within Coreplayer. I changed my name in the Channels listing to "qwerty017" and all of a sudden its saying there are no videos found in the favorites for Youtube. When I change it to anyone else like "kurio" Coreplayer pulls up all of the favorites for them. A simple problem. Or so I thought.
-------------------------
I know you gave me a warning before when I did this but honestly at this point I don't care. I paid for a piece of software expecting to get support when I had problems. With my warning PM you stated you would have support look into my problem and nothing was done until I posted another forum thread 15 days later. When someone from support finally took a look at it he decided to ask me the exact same questions that I had already sent in with the previous tickets. I could be fine with that except for one thing. Even after I answered hit redundant questions I never received anything back. No emails. No replies. Nothing. This is now day 11 since someone finally got back to me and day 28 since I opened the ticket in the first place.
Actually, this entire series of tickets goes all the way back to November 17th which means I have been waiting for support for a problem for over 2 and a half months. Or to be more precise, 82 days.
I have sent in 4 tickets in 82 days. 1 Medium, 1 High, and 2 Urgent, just hoping that someone might be able to actually fix my problem. And nothing.
Medium:
Received a reply almost immediately asking what version of Coreplayer I was using. I responded to the email and never heard back on this ticket until I was sent an email saying it was being closed do to no updates in 24 hours. So I opened another ticket for the exact same problem.
High:
Received an email asking me to uninstall and then reinstall Coreplayer. I responded when I had done that and stated the problem was still there. Received no reply until I received an email stating the ticket was being closed do to it receiving no updates in 24 hours. So I opened a new ticket for the exact same problem.
1st Urgent:
This one is funny. If it didn't show just how bad your Support truly is. I never received any reply. None. I kept it open for 6 days by asking for updates until I received yet another email stating the ticket was being closed do to no ticket updates. Understand that this was open for 6 days and nobody asked me a single question or sent a single email. At this point I was frustrated and made a Forum thread explaining what had happened and asking if Support even existed for this product. It was promptly removed and Betaboy sent a warning PM telling me that he would have support look into my tickets. I never received another word back from Support or Betaboy so I made a new ticket on January 9th. FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!!
2nd Urgent:
I never received anything back from Support until January 25th, 16 days after I had sent it in. And the only reason I received anything from them at that point was because I made yet another forum thread asking Betaboy to look into my ticket. At that point I received one email from support asking me to send them in exactly what was wrong. As I said above I didn't mind as long as someone at least pretended to be trying to help me. I sent him in exactly what the problem was as well as the fact that I was running the latest version of Coreplayer and that I had both tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I had even Hard Reset my device hoping that would fix the problem. After that point I received NOTHING back from Support. It has now been 12 days and I am done with trying to get a reply back from your non-existent Support system.
So yeah. I'm pretty sure I'm about to be banned for not following the rules or something but like I said at the beginning, I DO NOT CARE. I am fed up with your support system and I want others to know just how bad it truly is. I moved onto Coreplayer and bought both the Smartphone and Touchcreen versions when I changed phones for the single reason that I had never had any problems before and I figured that if I did have one at some point it would be fixed. What a fool I was.
Well. It only took 82 days, 3 forum threads, and 4 tickets but at least they finally confirmed it's a bug. Yay? Oh yeah, and it looks like I was banned. lol
Why did they ban you?
i acciddentally brought a wrong version, and it took them a week to sort it out.. after about 8 or so messages and much swearing!

Probably because I broke the forum rules.
werent we suppose to hear news on an updated coreplayer at MWC?
Apparently they've committed to a co-launch with Duke Nuken Forever. I've been waiting for the 'fantastic new version that will solve all of my problems' since I bought it for my Touch HD.
My Touch HD2 is still waiting.
I suspect my Touch HD3 will still be waiting.
They just don't know how to release the damn thing. Adding new features is fun. Releasing is scary. I'm a developer and I manage developers; I know how it goes.
If Kinoma Play had a better UI no-one would care about CorePlayer anymore. I'm pretty much there anyway. In fact I think I'll go see if Kinoma has a new version
I forgot about Kinoma. I'll have to try it out.
I know what you mean about waiting. I've pretty much given up on them ever releasing 2.0.

That thread hasn't any posts in 28 pages of anyone who actually received an over the air update.
OP: your thread I think is a good one.
I have not received an over the air update (which DOESN"T mean "manually downloaded over the internet from a fileserver" but sent to the phone direct from google. Also I don't expect it for several days to a week or so.
A lot of people, including myself, purchased a nexus device specifically because we wish to not have to hassle with manually updating roms and manual updates due to not having the latest operating system on a phone. So we are waiting on google to send it out. Within 2 weeks we will all have it.

My quote to the thread was, actually, for this reason:
Rollouts are conducted in phases. Typically they start at 1% of devices for around 24 - 48 hours; we watch the return rates and resulting device checkins and error reports (if any), and make sure nothing looks wrong before sending it to more. Then typically it goes to 25%, 50%, 100% over the course of a week or two.
What the percentages mean is that when your device checks in, it has a 1% chance (for example) of being offered the OTA. If it doesn't (randomly) get an offer, it will never get an offer until the next batch.
IOW, once your device checks in and gets turned down, that's it until the next batch. Mashing on the "check for updates" button just causes your device to check in again, and get automatically turned down again. Think about how that makes your device feel! WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE PHONES?!
That said, once the new batch does start, hitting that button does give you a new roll of the dice -- but once. Since devices usually only check in for system updates every 24 hours (I think? Certainly on a many-hours basis) this can get you your shot sooner than it would happen on its own.
So, mash away. Just be patient, and mashing on it more often than once or twice a day isn't going to gain you anything.
Edit: also, keep in mind that this isn't first-come/first-served. You're not racing other devices to get your slot in the current batch, or something. -Dan Morrill

So, you just need to wait a bit.
OK. I have seen so many of the "you dumb***, why don't you download the file and root and... like the real people here do" threads that I incorrectly assumed your post was of the same caliber. Obviously I was wrong so my apologies.
Good advice.
I do not think the OTA was even released yet if it was someone somewhere would have gotten it

It seems that the OTA has not been released and will be probably in the next days
I look forward to this update
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I for one welcome this thread as I'm waiting for the ota update for my stock unrooted N5, I hope this doesn't mean I'm taken less seriously in the future as we all had to start learning to root somewhere and sometime.
I'm in UK with no update.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
As someone in another post said - the update has probably been uploaded, but not officially pushed through to all Nexus 5 users. I'm sure it will happen shortly.
El Daddy has an excellent sticky thread [INFO] Nexus 5 OTA Help-Desk which explains how to sideload an OTA to your stock/unrooted device. This is fully supported method provided by Google themselves. The OTA can be downloaded direct from Google servers and if it was tampered with, it wouldn't pass signature checks.
They have also had engineers explain how their OTA rollouts work, including expected time frames.
What all this means is there's no reason for us to try and reverse engineer this process anymore and therefore this thread's only purpose is chatter that amounts to nothing

About updates in my country (CHILE)

Hello, guys!
Today something came up to my mind and I was wondering if you know anything about this...
A couple of months ago I changed to my actual mobile company (Entel), i was using WOM, but the thing is that I saw in SamMobile that there is an update available days ago for S10 and I can't receive it being in Entel, I'm always checking for new updates but there's nothing, I think that when WOM releases it I will be able to have it, but the question is...
Does anybody know how could I change this? Does it happen in your countries? If I'm registered in their servers as a client I would receive the update, wouldn't I?
Moderator Edit:

firmware releases are put out incrementally by IMEI, but in the interim, if you want to update manually, you can. And yes, this also happens in the USA. I would not recommend downloading the firmware directly from sammobile.com/fimwares tho only because they take such a long time. Samfirm and Frija are both tools that download firmware literallt 5 times faster. it takes about 2 hours when diwnloading directly from sammobile vs about 20 min on samfirm or frija (ive used both many times and theyre literally the same)
