Update wiped XDA IIi ROMS - Help?! - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i General

I ran an update on here for my handset, but it crashed out midway through update, erasing the ROMs.
Is there a way to reinstall the ROMs from scratch?
Many thanks for help in advance

Download Unsuccessful

Hello, I seem to be having trouble downloading purchased apps from the market.
I am running Cyan 4.1.999 currently, but the issue started whilst running the Blur Beta (thought flashing a new image might solve the problem. No luck). I searched the forums and another member with the same problem as me solved this issue by reformatting his card. I tried and still, when i try downloading numerous apps from the market, it says the download was unsuccessful. Any ideas?
Thanks guys. I love this supportive community. <3 XDA
are you wiping before restoring your backup? I was running blur beta on a different sd card, when i went back to my cyanogen 4.1.999 nandroid restore i wiped beforehand. Never had issues flashing roms as long as you wipe before you flash or restore a nandroid

[Q] Post SBF Questions

A few weeks ago I rooted my X and ran the manual deodex method posted on the site. Phone ran great, I installed clockwork recovery and made a few backups. after installing a rom and not being able to get back into the recovery, I had to flash the phone with the 2.2 full SBF. This leads to my questions
1. After I SBF'd I was able to recover my applications and my data was all on the SD card. however I have a few applications that when run will close and give me an error message stating that the "application unexpectedly quit" I can duplicate the issue most when attempting to search the a forum through the XDA application. I am sure I failed to wipe data and cache before I recovered the stock OS, could this be the cause, any ideas?
2. I have re-rooted my phone but I have a question about deodexing again. I understand that motorola is in the early stages of working on an update to fix reported issues with 2.2, I also believe that they will use this opportunity to update the bootloader version. is there a way to disable the OTA updates? I am concerned about bricking my phone if an update is release and I am deodexed, what is the worst that could happen?
Sorry for the post, I am technically inclined but am still learning the android OS, any help is very much appreciated.
If you run a rom either aosp or blur you can avoid the ota that's end only way I know to avoid it

thanks for the response, I read a few places that clockwork recovery blocks OTA updates from installing, but I am having a hard time nailing down a definitive answer.
From what I understand Droid X SBF files do not wipe data like other phones. I recently had to SBF but kept getting stuck looping at the droid eye. I booted into recovery and did a factory reset and all worked out just fine. I know it's not your exact problem but it still might be worth it to try.
As for not getting OTA updates other than doing a custom ROM I can't help you there, sorry.

What error message does it give you?
This sounds similar to the problem I'm currently facing.
The error message is the application cannot be downloaded due to an error.
I have started a thread on this, as I cannot find any good answer so far
There is no solution mate, you got to go and re flash again, as I discovered yesterday. How this helps.

no harm trying.. will do this as soon as my battery is full.
did you try to clear the dalvik cache before you do this?
I fixed mine by repairing permissions in rom manager then rebooting
Simply clean the "data" of the market ?
Applications => All Applications => Market => Clean Data ?

[Q] Losing Settings of all new apps after reboot or forced close

Hi guys,
My phone has been working great until today. for some reason now when I install a new app, if it is forced close or if I reboot the phone, I lose all the setting for the apps. It only happens to new apps, the one installed before today are (so far) keeping the settings.
Has this ever happened to anyone? Please help. I know some of you might suggest a factory reset, but unless somebody had this problem and reset helped with it, I will hold off on that because if it ends up not working I will be left with all my apps losing their settings all the time.
I am on I9000T on stock Froyo 2.2.1 if that can help.
Anyone? Please I really need help on this one. This has to have happened to somebody here?
Problem with the firmware.!!
I think that there must be a problem with the Firmware .. Try updating your phone via kies or Flashing Gingerbread using ODIN..

Before this, you could try and do a factory reset and see if the problem persists! If it does, then reflash with Odin! Good Luck!
Thanks for replying guys. I have a question: if it is a file system problem, will a firmware update or factory reset help?
Also, I have had this firmware for almost a year now, why would have I a problem with it now, I am not rooted and I have attempted (yet) anything with flashing.
If ur phone has a file-system error Reflashing or factory resetting ur phone will help 4 sure as the files will be cleaned up and installed again..u phone may have dis problem due to any virus... u need to root ur phone 1st then flash gb

I have also had this problem come up on my phone. The phone just crashed on a Sat night and on reboot the software looked like I had taken it out the box brand new. Lucky I had Titanium Backup and restored everything.
Only thing then is that the vast majority of apps don't remember settings and on a start of the app it's in 'first time' mode.
Did a ROM flash using ODIN and default ROM (search this forum for instructions and software if you need it) and this fixed it properly - 12 hours in and no issues.
Credits to Titanium Backup here - like insurance you only know if it's any good when you actually need it.

[Q] Updating of Custom Rom

Currently on Ordroid 7.1.0, going to update to Ordroid 7.1.1bonce I finished downloading it.
My question ... Is a full wipe installation necessary or just a update over it would be enough since its all under the same developer?
It's kinda tiring to reset my email, wifi every few days. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
No you don't need to wipe anything at all.
