10 secs isn't bad. Its just scanning the card again. If you use a class 6 card it will prolly move faster considering the read/transfer speeds.

hey guys/ girls i have a serious problem.. i think i have a virus on my wing or something... it was working fine for the 1st four days i had it then i just happend to check storage card memory and all my music, pics, videos, etc are gone plus i have these weird lookin empty folders in my storage card that i didnt put there that have squares, number signs and dollar signs for the name... its about 10 of them and i cant delete them... plus to top it off.. its murdering my memory....i have a 2 gig card i checked it n it said i only have like 16 mb left n it seems like every couple of hours i lose a mb in program memory (side bar: i hard reset and soft reset my wing a few days ago 2 get rid of the tmo bull so i started with like 30mb storage and 15mb program plus a 2 gig card) ... so im thinkin wtf?! cuz all i have installed on there is the chi- tai battery status plugin which has been working fine, spb back up, spb mobile shell, and google maps and they are all installed on the storage card, and i know this takes no where near 2 gigs and yes i already soft reset and even tried a hard reset but no luck it was all working fine until last night.. so i am asking for:
1) any idea what is going on with my baby?!? lol
2) any ideas/ apps to fix this cuz im freakin out right now
3) any ways i can avoid this from happening again
It sounds to me like your storage card is getting corrupt... which is not uncommon due to some bug. Look at some of the posts for "corrupt storage card"
here's one of them

lol yea thanks I realized that right after I started the thread.... I decided to google corrupt micro sd card on wing and that's one of the links that popped up... took it out n wing works fine now.... how can I fix my sd card?? cuz my computer won't even read it to reformat anymore

you might have to repurches a new one
when i changed roms, i copied all the non-corrupt folders to the computer, then formatted the card. everything has been fine since then =)

Before you go and toss your SD, try this formatter program from Panasonic. It fixed my card time after time.
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter.html
BTW, dont use FAT32 for the format. Use plain FAT which is actually FAT16.

1) Nope. and thats not from lack of research or trials
2) I have nothad a problem for a week since I loaded the Touch_IT ROM. The ROM is sweet.
3) Again, Nope. As long as I ran the Tmobile ROM, I kept getting the SD corruption.
Good luck and if you still cannot fix your problem, try the Touch_IT ROM with a 6mb pagepool . It's fast and increses memory by a bunch.
your wing is not resonding
have you tried a clear storage under setting and then system this sends the device intototal reset and all factory settingd...
I might be pushing my luck.... but ever since I stopped having my tmobile wing write mail attachments, camera pics, and Iexplorer temp files to the SD card I have not had a corrupt sd.
Could be luck, but it's been weeks now. Whereas before my SD would end up corrupt several times a week.
Would prefer a cab patch for this or something to that effect.
All I did to mine to fix it was, back it up, reformat it with the builtin winxp formating program and pop it back in. Hasn't happened since then.
This is like the fourth time the stock SD card gets damaged. Does any one know how I can avoid this. I keep losing everything every time... this really sucks. The phone is not even mounting to my pc...
I've fried a few, best bet is to backup every time you plug into your computer.

It might be time to spend the 10 bucks to get a real SD card.

I agree, I had the same problem a few times and after inserting a new reformatted 8gb class 4 I've had now SD problems for 5 months.

Have you tried rebooting the phone? When I first got my N1 and was hosing with it, one boot the SD card didn't mount.. I poked around in the settings for a few minutes, and finally just rebooted it. Been fine since.
However, the suggestions to upgrade the MicroSD are valid, the standard one is a Class 2 IIRC, I'd suggest at least Class 6.
This worked for me using a Pny 4gb class 4 card. When the white HTC screen first comes on in recovery mode pop out the SD card. As soon as you hear Windows beep that it recognizes the phone and before the black screen pops up with the red triangle pop the SD card back in. That was the only way I could get it to go. Hope this helps someone else. Good luck.

I have done this 5 times and so far 67% of the time it works EVERY TIME (but really it just works every time) What I did is just push the SD Card in and out continuously while booting into recovery and all I can say is GAME OVER phone because I win the race every time! GL all.
Worked!!
So far using the stock sd card and clicking it in and out has worked for me on the first try three times in a row!!!! Thanks to all involved with figuring this out!!
+1 worked for me...pull the card at Hboot screen while it was checking for update file, pres down to recovery, hit recovery and wait for the sound of your computer to chime RIGHT before the black recovery screen pops up. Pay dirt!!

It's really easy just to push in and out this way you have no way of missing the window

YES YES This worked for me. Finally got it to work, when nothing else worked. Thank you!! I think I'ts the Chime part that helped me.
Worked once, but can't repeat.
This doesn't work for me either.
My computer chimes a disconnect sound during the HTC white screen and the connect sound doesn't chim until after the recovery mode is loaded. Used 2 machines XP and Win7 and both have the same result.
2GB PNY SD card
Machine 1 = 1.6ghz Win7 desktop 2GB RAM
Machine 2 = 1.8ghz Core2duo laptop 2GB RAM

Also worked for me. Thanks for the tip.
I've had success with both the 2GB Sandisk from VZW and an 8GB Sandisk that came in my Storm 1. I had to do it twice because I forgot to remove CityID the first time. I was too excited that it actually worked.
same results as compnird... beep is during the red !, not before
I jam the memory card in as soon as I hear the "USB Disconnected" sound which happens just before the recovery screen comes up. This worked for me twice with two different cards. I had to hit adb shell a few times but it got in after a couple tries. If it doesn't work, pull the battery, boot with VolDwn + Power held and go into recovery again from fastboot. Keep trying....I spent six hours yesterday trying every method posted and this one is the only way I could get in.

This is exactly what happens to me. Is your DI an HBOOT 77 or 79?
Pulling didn't work for me,
I tried all the methods here for last 3 days straight, probably a total of 40 hours+, pulling doesn't work for me with PNY 2GB Class 2 and SanDisk 16GB, both formatted to FAT32. Frustrated!

HBOOT is a 77
if it helps everyone who still can get this.
I did put 1.8 g of music from my music library from artist who had multi albums per folder. with my kingston 2g 2x.
I did have android 1.0? while in white screen of initial recovery and did card push right at chime in black screen. I had loop running. I had htc sync installed
Its all about the loop file running and the timming of the card and the adb shell command.
I used the noob files from the youtube video and it did not remove the cityid so i had to redo a adb shell and do the 1.bat over to get su to rm the cityid.
So i am sure i can recreate the 3 days worth of trials to the one post that i read that said to push and pull just once.
keep trying

You asking me? if so:
In device Manager whilst being in hboot I plugged in usb cable and it shows as Android Bootloader Interface. When the phone is on normally it shows as Android Composite ADB Interface
and again my hboot was 79.
Does this meaning anything to anyone lol

Looks like your sd card is beginning to wear out. Better backup as much as possible and replace it right away. I once had 2 kingston cards with similar issues. Formatting them seems to fix it for a short period of time only. Then eventually the problem returns.
Did you try erasing the card through the phone itself - that is putting it back again after un-mounting from your PC?

Hi can anyone anyone help I brought sd card 32gb but it keepa getting corupt files from data and I recorded a video for 30 minutes and it went corupted ive formatted long and quick still ends up the same does anybody have any idea why this would happen ?
I had similar issue with 2 SD cards both getting corrupted.... Are you using folder mount?
Or any other script that links SD card at boot like app2sd etc, if so you might find that these are the probs, as the script could be to aggressive.
I think folder mount script screwed my cards.

Its been a month since I've purchased the SP, and i seem to have a problem with the system force closing apps like real racing or minion rush for the matter. Some times the game exits without any warning whatsoever and also during gameplay of Real Racing, the app frequently goes to the pause screen despite me not touching the screen at all for the matter. Is this a hardware issue with the phone or is it that the game is too heavy for the system ?
