HTC Fuze- Can't prevent sleep while on car charger - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

CE OS 5.2.20771 /20771.1.4.6
ROM version 5.11.502.2 WWE 5/6/09
I plug my phone into a car charger and hang it on a dash mount. While power is connected, I want the phone and screen to stay on and bright. No matter what the settings are set to for powered mode, it goes to sleep in about a minute. I see the power plug indicator, so it knows its plugged in.
No problem if its plugged into a USB port on my computer--always stays on. In my car I have my Jawbone connected, on my desk a BlueAnt speakerphone.
Maybe I found a solution--I plugged in the USB dongle that came with the phone and plugged the charger into that., Stays on now. I also have a FM adapter plugged into the headphone jack to play music on my car stereo.

No sound when charging in car

I play music all other times and when it is charging in the house no problems right threw the phone speaker. But when its charging in the car no sound threw the phone speaker..
Any help?
Chris
are you using a USB splitter in the car that has a headphone jack on it?
No but i have a splitter with the usb charger slot and the usb headphone slot and when i use that it also does not work with the car charger and the headphones plugged in it charges but no music... And with no splitter and just the car charger plugged in and charging no music threw the phone speaker.. But at home when it is plugged in to the charger i get music threw the phone speaker
What make and model car charger?
I'd imagine since most people want to listen to music from the phone over the cars speakers (rather than out of the phones tinny speaker), your car charger has some means of hooking up the TyTN Is audio output to your cars speakers and so takes away it's audio but just currently doesn't have anywhere to send it. If you read the instructions for your car charger or have a look on the manufacturers website, that may help. As you haven't listed the charger make and model people with experience of your exact situation with the same item wont be able to chime in with how they sorted it but I'm surprised you dont want the better sound quality that comes from using your cars speakers
With the headphones plugged in directly (not via the splitter) do you get sound through the headphones as expected?
Yes headphones plugged in direct work fine.
I will check out the chargers website
Well it works now but i didnt do nothing i woke up and plugged into car charger and worked lol.. oh well
thanks all for the help.

[Q] Start music automatically when charger connected

I have my old android phone connected to my audio port and charging port 90% of the time, I would like it to start playing when power goes through the charger ( when i start my car ) and stop when the charger turns off... Can someone help me accomplish this ?
Unfortunately I don't have bluetooth streaming in my car..

[Q] Car Dock Not Charging Phone

I have a Captivate with AOKP m5. I can not get the phone to charge while in the car dock. The phone recognizes the dock; as soon as I plug it in the phone goes into car mode. I know the charger works. I was able to charge fine while using a gingerbread ROM.
Does this seem like a ROM issue, ICS issue, or kernel issue? I'm not really sure what tells the phone to charge, etc.
Any ideas?
The car charger that came with my phone does not charge it too, the red light turn on, but the phone does not recognize, the connection feels loose.
But the charger from my Samsung Jet (same connector) works ok, and the connection is not loose at the other charger, it's almost firm.
Both chargers are generic.
I would try another charger.

[Q] Charging issue connected to car stereo USB

Hey all.
I plugged my phone into my friends car stereo usb yesterday to charge it, and it kept connecting/disconnecting rapidly, going from charging to charging about twice in a second repeatedly. The only way I could get it to charge is if I shut the phone off.
Any ideas of why this would be?

Insufficient current output from the stereo's USB socket would be the obvious guess.
Is this going to be an issue with all car stereos made before the HTC One though?
It wasn't JUST the charging that would start and stop rapidly. The USB Connection and Debug Mode would connect and disconnect at the same time, like the connection was actually being turned on and off.

I have this same problem with my girlfriends HTC One. When I plug it to charge from the car's dedicated USB port for charging it just connects/disconnects over and over.
Never had this problem with the Note 2 or my Nexus 4 and 5. They charged no problem.

Wireless charging w/ Android Auto

I have the Galaxy Note 5 which has wireless charging. When I plug the phone into my car to use Android Auto the car's USB port only provides 500 milliamps of charging which is not enough to keep the phone charged during the use of Android Auto. Could I use a wireless charging pad in the car to increase the charging current or does the phone somehow turn off wireless charging capabilities when it senses it is receiving power through the USB port?
Are you turning off the screen my charges fine? Let me check the specs on my head unit.
I had the same issue, i used this: http://www.amazon.com/HIGHROCK-Enhancer-Female-Charge-Extension/dp/B00NIGO4NM?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00
I plugged one side into the head unit, the other side into a quickcharge 2.0 charger I wired behind the dash, and then you just plug in your cable to the single output. It works great! Basically, it just boosts the charging while still connected to the head unit.
