Anybody know of a possible program that will allow you to backup your contacts w/ their facebook accounts linked? Because I'm constantly flashing TF3d2 ROMs and find it annoying to have to re-link all of my contacts each time I flash a new ROM.

Hey guys after having one of Duty's origional roms since september i took a chance on : L26_WM6.1_PROV4_(3.51.502.0_WWE)_Multimedia which moved me from 6.0 to 6.1 win mobile. I flashed. Everything is great. I used Sprite backup. The only thing is i see all my contacts in contacts (when i click the contacts on HTC Home) but none of them come up when someone is dialing.
I reladed contacts only from Sprite and stilll.. see all contacts.. nothing is showing up on incoming? Do i need to move them/wipe them out or something? Is there a difference between windows mobile 6.0 contact management and 6.1 ? So far i only that on 6.1 when i add to contact it asks me whether i want to save to Sim or Outlook. I choose outlook since in origional rom i had it all saved to Phone not SIM .
Any ideas why my incoming calls dont display the contact? Let me know if u need additional data.
Thanks guys
This community is the best.
anyone on this? anyway i can reload the contactS?
I think I read somewhere that Sprite doesn't work to move stuff from 6.0 to 6.1. But I don' know that as a fact.
Maybe you could try syncing them to Outlook. Export your address book to a CSV so you have a back up. Then Delete your Contact from the Device. Then Resync them.
If you don't want to have your Contacts on the Outlook then Use PimBackup to Back up your contacts only. Delete them from your outlook, which will delete them from your device during Sync. (Remove the Outlook Sync Part. Then Restore the PimBackup.
I used PPCPimBackup to migrate. I have never had this problem even when migrating from a Dash to the Tilt (and many ROMs after that)
Hi Guys,
You can restore Contacts, Appointments, Tasks, My Documents, Internet Favs using the latest release of Sprite Backup - 6.2.2 - after a ROM upgrade. You can also use the Merge Restore to attempt a restore of all the other data.
Cheers,
Kevin

Same problem here.
Running:
-Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_Official_5.2.19209_1_58_16_27__FIX
-JumpSPL1.56/hard SPL V1
Can't for the life of me figure a fix for this one. Seems like it would be pretty simple...but no such luck. Help would be appreciated!

Hey, i finally upgraded to 6.1 from a VERY old WM6 ROM...I use Missing Sync on my mac to sync my contacts, and activesync on my PC...For those who use Missing Sync, know that it backs up SMS and Call Logs, my questions is, how can i restore them back onto the phone? is this possible?
I just flashed my phone to jm6 and i noticed that my contacts are now doubled with another group from google, is there a way to prevent this in the future as i dont recall syncing with google contacts..
If you used a backup program to reinstall the contacts this can be a cause. Better to just resync the contacts fresh from the source.
Same goes for calendar entries.
In my case I was getting duplicates from Outlook and gmail.
I only use gmail now and a restore of the backup can cause duplicates as the program will resync as well.
So my fix was easy let it resync never restore the contact and Calendar from a backup.
i'm actually sort of in the same boat, but my case is slightly different
i'm trying to UN-duplicate all my contacts
calendar was a piece of cake, but contacts is way different as i sync them across MSN, Yahoo, Google
anyone know a good app to MERGE all duplicated/triplicated contacts into 1?
then i can wipe it from my MSN/google/yahoo and then sync the consolidated one back to Google/MSN/Yahoo
Recently i had a problem with the facebook integration in my HTC diamond 2 windows 6.5
it's not synchronizing any more and not updating anything
do you have any clue???
Sometimes it helps to log out of the app and log back in and hit refresh.
did you flash new rom recently? or have you change your internet/3G setting?
If you have flash new rom and restore your contact, make sure you set your facebook data sync after you restore your contact.
Hi all..
I've tried searching for answers to my question for ages and its a no-go so i'm posting it here.
So here's my problem. My contacts are synced on google (not phone or sim) and their names are not the same as in facebook. When I sign in to facebook, as usual we're given 3 choices:
- Sync All
- Sync with existing contacts
- Remove facebook data
If i choose the 2nd (sync with existing contacts), only a few gets synced as not all of my contact's names are the same on my phone and on facebook. So i choose Sync All, and then manually join the contacts.
I'm on Darky's 10.2, and on TiBu what system app should I backup the data so the contacts i joined manually are retained when I flash a new rom with a full wipe? If i just flash a new rom everything disappears even after i've signed in to google and synced all my contacts. All their pictures are gone.
BTW I dont use the samsung's built in SNS account and have even deleted them off my phone.
Should I backup the contacts application? I've been trying many things and all dont seem to work. I just dont know which system app data to backup.. Its a pain to rejoin each and every contact after every reflash (which I do a lot)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Titanium backup. It might be the greatest app for android. I have backed up with titanium then a full reset and full wipe flash then restore with titanium and it is as if nothing even happened. I have ran in to the issue with using a different Rom then the backup and restoring the system data can screw things up. So I just go into titanium and choose only my contacts, wifi and Bluetooth parings.

I know exactly what you're talking about, did you find a solution for that?

You've quoted a over year hold post, chances are that you won't be getting a answer from him eh.
Restoring a system app is ALWAYS a bad idea, so don't go for that option. I never looked for a option myself but there should be a way to manually backup your current contacts (with pictures and everything) to google.
