DOWNGRADE - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

hello there...
i'm new here...
i want to downgrade my BA from helmi wm6 Pro to wm 2003 se...
like the original and default OS...
i wonder where could i download it...
can you help me...

you can download your shipped rom, either at your carrrier's site, or, more comfortably, at -=xplode's shipped rom archive=-. you can find more informations on how to downgrade are to be found -=here=-. remember, even if your shipped rom comes as a simple exe file and seems to have downgraded automatically in the past, your device is WWE now and it lost its original name, like 9090, mdaIII or xdaIIs to BlueAngel, meaning, you need to induce the bootloader mode manually and use a modified RUU to bypass country ID, model ID... error. the RUU can be found -=here=-.

Downgrade Orange UK SPV M2000 to WM2003 (not SE)?

Hey folks,
Is there a rom image out there somewhere (I've looked around but maybe I'm just blind) which will let me downgrade my Orange SPVM2000 from WM2003se to plain old WM2003 not second edition?
I need to run some software which rather stupidly explicitly checks for an unsupported operating system and refuses to install if you're running SE. It's important enough to me for me to downgrade the rom if that'll get it working

Dopod with 1.11.0001 IPL/SPL bricked

Hello,
I'm a new one on this great forum so first of all I'd like to send greetings to all of you.
I've searched and read a lot of posts on this forum as well as on another ones, but unfortunately I couldn't find a solution for my problems.
I have purchased a bricked Dopod with HTC logo on it. Previous owner told me that it was Dopod (I don't know exactly which one - C800 or C858) with a Chineese WM 5 OS. He was trying to make HardSPL but he didn't realize that it is recommended for Heralds with higher IPL/SPL.
Now I can only launch Bootloader (with IPL/SPL 1.11.0001) mode but still without oportunity to flash - even with RUU from Dopod (RUU_Herald_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.7.707.3_02.69.90_Ship_R.exe). This RUU seems to be too old for my Dopod. I couldn't find any other (newer) one.
Has anybody got RUU for Dopod suitable for 1.11.0001 IPL/SPL? Or maybe someone who owns working Dopod with IPL/SPL 1.11.0001 could make a backup of his ROM and we could change the mentioned RUU to be able to flash 1.11.0001 SPL?
What do you think?
I'm waiting for your responses and opinions.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Martin.
Hello again.
I have some new ideas.
Could someone verify if I'm on the right track?
I have used NBHextract tool to extract .nbh file from RUU_Herald_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.7.707.3_02.69.90_Ship_R.exe and realized that there are 2 .nb files which are SPL and IPL for my DOPOD. During editing those 2 files we can notice that they include "1.09.0001" string. File 01_G4IPL.nb includes only one "1.09.0001" string and file 00_G4SPL.nb includes just two "1.09.0001" strings.
What if I'll change those strings to "1.11.0001", as it's shown now in the bootloader on my device, and than recompile .nbh file for using in RUU process...
Will it work without total bricking my DOPOD?

as i know it, all the spl flashing methods other than original RUU (it needs to be signed) require a 4+ SPL/IPL. I would just send it in. Changing the string won't work because it's not identified by name but function
I'm just wondering how the ROMUpdateUtility is checking if dedicated .nbh suits to current SPL and IPL. As I've mentioned above, I've tried to use official DOPOD Herald RUU (with SPL/IPL 1.09.0001 included) and it doesn't suits my device with 1.11.0001. Why? CID should be the same and the only differences are in SPL and IPL. As it's official RUU I thought it would work even on my device with higher SIPL/IPL. When I realize that it doesn't work I'm wondering if the way with changing the SPL and IPL strings in .nbh file will do the job.
Now I think that the reason of non flashing, even with official RUU, could be corrupted CID-block after using HardSPL with low IPL/SPL. I've read thread about similar problem with Wizard. The question is: how to restore the CID block in our bricked devices? I'm not even sure if this theory with CID-block is a reason...
What do you think about such a trick:
- Run RUU on someone's working HTC device but only until the moment, when it wants you to click the last button to finally proceed with flashing. (This step is to let RUU to know that this RUU is correctly dedicated to our device). It's a kind of fake for RUU, cause our CID doesn't much the CID of ROM included in RUU.
- Next disconnect working device from the USB and connect your bricked device with launched bootloader mode
- Next click the final button to launch flashing in RUU application. If the process of CID matching was done before thit step, the flasher should start and let us flash our bricked device. But I'm sceptic to this solution. If it was so trivial, everyone could flash his device with different ROMs so easy...
I can't try this trick cause I don't have working HTC. What do you think? Will it work or not?

Help me CID Unlock my HTC P4350 after installing Official Spanish WM6 ROM.. june 2008

Hello everybody,
I bought a P4350 from Spain a few days ago and "unfortunately" the Spanish HTC Official WM6 upgrade was already installed on it. This means that my phone is CID Unlocked so I cannot install an English WM6 version. (I tried to, but in vain...).
I've tried several WM5 device CID unlocking methods, but they all failed.
Can anyone help me?
Unfortunately there is not much information on the web for HTC Herald CID Unlocking as there is for other HTC's (Wizard, Hermes,...)...
HardSPL is CID unlock
or you can USPL an english RUU without the SPL.nbh
or you could just USPL/HSPL a custom rom
ok i'm gonna check for more information about "USPLing an english RUU without the SPL.nbh" on the web.
If you have any pertinent link to provide, it would be useful for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401061
this is your one free link. Welcome to XDA-devs
you can start by tellings us your IPL/SPL versions
hold camera button while u power on, give u a tricolor-screen with a numbers
IPL 4.17.0002
SPL 4.17.0000
I couldn't hardSPL my Herald...
I was finally able to change my ROM thanks to your link!
I'm wondering if there is a ROM including the latest features of HTC diamond for Herald devices.
I've been searching, but if anyone has a link it would be helpful.
Thanks.
I found two different ROMs that include the Touch Dialer (which I find to be a very interesting feature).
Both ROMs included only an NBH file which had to be copied to my micro-sd card. Then I would run my Herald in bootloader-mode so that my device recognizes the file and perform the installation. But it does not.
I don't know what I should do to let my device detect the new ROM file...
I tried copying the NBH file to the RUU Folder of the Flash center and ran it, but it doesn't work either...

problems wi Miri...

okay, i am aware that i have requested the stock - 'from-the-factory-English' ROM before, and i had it saved to my desktop, however, my $3100 Vaio POS with 64-bit Vista decided to erase half of itself the other day and i ended up losing the ROM for the blackstone English settings.
now that Sony has provided me with a 32-bit recovery dvd set, i am able to resume most normal functions, but now i have the Miri (latest) ROM installed on the cell and every other text i receive is just jibberish - consisting of an alpha-numeric stew, straight out of MS' character map lore.
i would really like to restore the original, English, factory settings to the phone, if possible.
thanks for any & all support (",)
okay -
i think i downloaded the correct stock rom for te phone, but now it gives me this:
error 294: invalid vendor ID
any thoughts or solutions?

That just means the CID of the rom you are attempting to flash does not match the CID of your device. Is your phone an unbranded WWE phone? Or is it branded, i.e. Orange?
Either way, if you want to flash a stock WWE rom to your phone you can even with the CID mismatch. You can use USPL to keep the stock SPL and then flash the new stock WWE rom.
Or, alternatively, you can use HSPL and have a modified and unlocked SPL on your phone so that you can flash any rom anytime you want.
The main difference is with USPL you have to use it every time you want to flash a custom or CID-mismatching rom. HSPL is a permanent (but reversible) solution.
There are plenty of How To threads this should have been posted in.
In short, use USPL when flashing a ROM, or put Hard SPL on first.

Xplode help me...

xplode,
can you help me downgrade my BA (O2 Xda iis)??
this is the ROM:
wm6.5 (build 21169.5)
MODEL NO.: PH20B
i want to downgrade it to its default ROM wm2003 SE...
but i can't remember it's rom version...i only know that it was from O2 UK...
i downloaded the O2 UK 1.40.242...
but when I tried, it said "Country ID Error"...
may I should try the other O2 UK rom...
could you give tips or tell what's wrong?
thanks in advanced...
sorry if this disturbs you...
once you had a cooked rom from this forum, the country id changes to WWE. that's why on the first attempt to upgrade, many people experience a country id error.
what you have to do is, downgrade the same way you upgrade, don't just click the big .exe file, unpack it, and put the maupgradeut_noid in there and put your device into bootloader mode before starting the actual downgrade. that way you bypass the check of the device id, country id a.s.o
thanks chef!!!
but how will I unpack it?
usually, when you download the official shipped rom from your carrier or from xplode's firmware archive. it will come as one exe file of forty something MB. but that is not an exe like a normal executable, it is a self-extracting archive, which can also be extracted manually, but right clicking it, and then saying extract here or something similar, depending on the zip program you have installed, like winrar, or 7zip. and in that folder you will find the official RUU (with baupgradeut) and the roms nk.nbf (wm2003 rom), ms_.nbf (the extrom) and radio_.nbf (the radio rom).
and there you can start customizing.
1st you need the maupgradeut_noid, which you used to upgrade your device, since that bypasses some security features, like the country id, you should also think about whether or not to flash the old radio, if you don't want it, just delete it from the folder, same thing for the extrom.
thanks...
I've extracted the file...
will I just do the same procedure as I did when I upgraded my BA?
put my BA to bootloader mode, run the maupgradeut_noid then let the program do the work?
exactly!
you know, when you first upgraded the device from wm2003 in your local language with your country code to an english WWE wm6.5 you changed the country code of the device, that is why, on the way back, you need to bypass the check again.
but just as you said, bootloader mode and maupgradeut_noid do the trick.
