It doesn't touch your sd card. It wipes the data off your phone.

you should format both, and back up the media you want. cuz the app wont work after wipe

"Full" Wipe

It seem CWM full wipe isnt enough, it left the data in sdcard and root. How to "clean' up totally and safely. If possible I dont want to mess with the repartitioning maybe some full format would be nice. Any guide from experienced user...thanks

If you are on safe kernel you can wipe/format sd card by following these two methods :-
Go to Settings>Storage>Format SD Card (Internal)
oR
Reboot in CWM Recovery
Go To Mount & Storage
Format SD Card (Internal)
Hope it helps
Cheers!!!

this will full wipe
*2767*3855#
recommended only if you are on GB OR ICS with safe kernel.
Root will not still remove, you need to reflash Stock ROM(recommended GB) with PC odin to unroot.
on cwm and safe kernel.
Take out out external sd card
wipe factory, cache and dalvik
Then in mounts format everything except efs. Phone wont boot but will boot recovery and download mode.
Put external back in and install zip, or pc odin your prefered way. With regular pitfile if switching GB or ICS.
Cleanest way possible to my knowledge.
When not switching and on safe kernel dr ketans way is the way.

S5830 & s2e

I have partitioned my SD and i have install all apps in the new partion with S2E.
I must now wipe my phone.
I have make a backup with titanium.
Can i wipe my phone and recover the apps with backup?
Yes, but they won't be restored to the partition, you'll have to move them again with s2e.

[Q] Full Wipe on CWM

Hi All,
I wan asking a noob question before i flash a rom.
Now i come with stock rom and bulletproof kenal.
The question is before flash the rom, we need full wipe in cwm, will this full wipe delete that rom zip file?
I already try, pc can't mount with phone in CWM.
So i need fullwipe in cwm, or wipe in aroma?
Only wipe in Aroma

Hi,
Wipe data/factory reset and it's good, your "sdcard" content will not be wiped.
Don't format /sdcard, /external_sd and /data/data/media (/sdcard) in mounts and storage menu.
In any case, yes you can choose to wipe in Aroma...

Re,
Thanks but I know it...
Follows what I said (well reading, right?) and you're good, thats all...
If you want to test wipe /sdcard, /external_sd and /data/data/media (/sdcard) and you'll see, even if we don't have an external storage (sdcard)... before save your sdcard on your computer and you'll need to know how "adb sideload"..., ok

[Q] How do I wipe internal storage?

Hi,
I have ended up with this sdcard\0 and sdcard\legacy type problem.
How do I wipe the internal storage? I have touchwin recovery but its unclear which option wipes the internal storage so I wiped everything but it didn't work.
Thanks
Wipe data will wipe all the sdcard

I don't have TWRP either, but it should be under advanced and read something like "format /data/media"
I ended up just installing clockwork mod and the wipe worked fine but I have still ended up with sdcard\0 and sdcard\legacy is that normal?
On the plus side I no longer have a copy of everything in both.

You should have /data/media/0 and /data/media/legacy
/sdcard/ is only a symlink to /data/media/0
You should be good.

clean install CM13

I want nothing left on my phone before installing new rom, will wiping data cache and dalvik be enough? or should i do internal storage to?
again, i want nothing left. clean as it gets.

Just click wipe on TWRP and slide the bar. Then install.
I wipe dalvik, cache, system and internal. Probably overkill, but doing so seems to cause the least problems. I backup my contacts to a vcf file to sd card and flash.

Just add your contacts to Google and you wont need to backup it anymore..
I believe in redundancy when backing up.
