Hello guys, I suddenly cannot control volume of my manila music player. When I press volume rocker screen appears but it has no effect on volume even when it is set to silent. Music is still playing at the same high volume. Also what I found is appointments are not ringing.
I have installed WOW HD, Advanced Config, G-Alarm, replaced AudioPara3 (medium boost) etc.. (issue might not be related to these programs)
Please help.
uninstall those programs. or hard reset.

Hi,
Dont know if this is a normal kind of request but I have searched wiki and forums; cant find anything
I want to use my Kaiser as music player (pocket music or pocket player or even HTC Audo or WMP) but having 3 separate volume controls gets a bit much:
1) BT (HTC S100)
2) the media app own volume
3) Kaiser's volume (on taskbar)
I prefer to leave the main Kaiser volume on 50% - dont need a loud ringtone normally but when playing music would prefer to have music louder (ie main volume 75-100% and control only on BT or app).
Is there a registry setting I can edit to override the main volume for music?
thanks in advance
anybody have any ideas? please
Don't think there is a registery key. There is HTC Equalizer & HTC Audio Boost but both of them don't work on the TyTN II
Pocket music player 5.0
Re my original Q on 3 different volume controls, I just loaded Pocket music trial and the volume control in the app adjusts the main system volume, unlike WMP, HTC Audio, where the app volume is independent of main system vol and BT vol. So thanks PMP 5 - you've gone a long way to helping; so much so its worth paying $20 to register.
While playing MP3music, I would like my X1 to turn off (completely) the backlight, to save battery. It could go off automatically (by the timing defined in the Energy configuration), or manually (by pressing the on/off button). However, I have found this weird behaviour:
a- Using Windows Media Player, backlight goes to a "dimmed" state, but it is still on. The display never goes completely off. If I press the on/off button, reproduction is stopped (and the display goes off).
b- Using CorePlayer (my favorite media player), works similar than in Win Media Player. I have tryed all the related configuration options, but didn´t work.
c- Using the Xperia Media Panel (which I hate), while playing music if I press the on/off button, media continues playing, and the display goes completely off, as it should be.
How can I configure Windows Media Player or CorePlayer to turn off backlight, but still continue reproduction (as in the Xperia Panel) ??
Thank you.

A) No Solution
B) No Solution.
C) This is why I use the Media Panel.
You can try Conduit's Pocket Player. It is better than CorePlayer for audio files, the only con is that it doesn't look fancy like the Media Panel. It also supports the functions you mentioned.
Thank you for your answer poetryrocksalot,
It´s incredible that such a simple feature of turning off the backlight to save battery while reproducing music is not available in a product like Core Player, wich has a lot of feedback from users, and has a LOT of configuration options...
I will try also Conduit´s..
It is incredible how unaware many users are of these features being available. WMP is easiest. Check out the options. You can set a key to turn off the display. I recommend long press up or long press down. Another option is to generally assign a hardware key to "Display off" using Spb Pocket Plus or AeButtons. This solves the problem for Coreplayer as well.
if you plugged-in your headphones, then you can turn-off display and hear music
//sorry for my bad english
many players support you making a hardware button asigned to the function
often called toggle screen
which does just what you request know that wmp have it or at least used to last
I used that player
Thank you very much! I have installed AEButtons, as suggested by Firewall, and now not only can turn off the screen, but do a lot of new things!
Now I have had to uninstall AEButtons, because it interacts with PhonEX, which is an improved dialer I use. When I have an incoming call, it seems that PhonEX "unloads" AEButtons...
then do as I told you
in wmp
click menu->options->buttons->toggle screen
assign the key you want to turn off the screen
start playing music and click the assigned button and it turn
off the screen
Hello.
I just got my new Xperia z1 and facing some issues.
Normally when a phone is in vibrate or silent mode, there should be no sound from the device.
However with this phone, when I open games application (every games I tried) the sound come out.
I tried reboot, factory restore but nothing happened. It still works like normal mode although i chose vibrate and silent mode.
I tried Setting>>Sound>>Volumes and minimize the volume of "music, video, games & other media" and "Ringtone and notifications" then it work during the silent mode but then when I changed back to normal mode the sound just not come out.
I wonder if it's my mistake of setting something or what's wrong with my phone.
Sorry for my poor English language knowledge but Please help me...
Thank you in advance
As you have already found out there are two different kinds of sounds:
Using the normal, vibrate or silent option does just change the volume for ringtones and notifications, it does not change the volume for media and games.
You will also notice that using the volume rocker while being on your home screen or a non-media app will adjust the ringtones volume and using it in a game or media player will change the media volume, there will be a different symbol displayed.
I usually don't use the menu for adjusting the volume, but the volume rocker. If you want to make sure that media volume is turned down before opening am app, you will have to enter the menu though.

Thank you for your reply. I thought by changing the mode to vibrate or silent, the volume of media and games will also change to silent.
I wish there is some way that i can control media and games volume by changing sound mode, but it seems no.
Will be using volume rocket from now on. Thank you for your explanation. :good:
Hello,
Note that I already tried searching, but I couldn't find what i'm looking for
I would like to request a mod that prioritizes the Media Volume when you use the volume rocker.
The idea would be to make it so ; when I use the volume rocker, the Media Volume changes instead of the Alarm Volume.
Thanks in advance
I need this too.
Also, i didn't realize we can request stuff...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tomwandroid.rockerlocker
Unless they changed it now Rocker Locker is a big battery drain because it constantly plays a silent audio file to switch the volume rocker to media.
I'm using a rooted Meizu smartphone (Android 7) that has one annoying "feature" for me: whenever I press the volume buttons, the system controls Media volume, even if no media is playing.
I want to be able to control Notification, Ringtone or both volumes if I link them (it would be nice to choose which one to control) if I press volume buttons, if no media is playing. I repeat: if no media is playing.
Of course I would want to control media volume if media is playing, it's stupid and illogical to control other volume when Media is playing, like it's stupid to control media volume when no media is playing, like it's happening by default on my phone.
I tried using an app, named Button Mapper: Remap your keys, assigning Volume + and Volulme - to volume buttons, but the system decides to control System volume (the one that sets volume for different system actions, like screenlock sound, camera shuter etc.). On another phone, a Xiaomi with MIUI 8, this app works correctly: if I assign Volume + and Volume - to volume buttons, system changes Notification volume (by default, MIUI control Media volume too, even if no media is playing).
What I've noticed is that this app could assign a Tasker Intent, as you can see in the screenshot I added, if this could be helpful.
I am a complete noob in Tasker, I really don't know what this and that does but I guess I can implement commands and tasks if someone would write them down.
