SMS and GPRS problems

Hi all, got my hands on a new S730 just the other day, but am having problems with some of its services.
Regarding SMS, I can receive messages but cannot send. No where in the message settings can I see an option for message centre (where one would usually input the number of your local sms message centre).
Also, regarding GPRS, I cannot quite figure out how to set it up. Does anybody have settings for O2 ireland, or a quick how to on its configuration?
Would appreciate any help anyone can give.
Rgds,
Update:- Kept on hounding my provider and it turns out they were at fault. Issue was regarding provisioning for data on my account.

HTC TILT Text not working

I placed my sim card into a aircard so that i could use it to get on the internet and since then i have not been able to receive messages and sometimes cant send messages. Where it should show a signal it shows " no data sessions" Did something change my settings. And if so how do I change them back.

how are texts sent? data?

so i was wondering how exactly texts are sent, because i inow i get much better data reception in my house when i disable 3g and texts seem to send more reliably.
also, if anyone happens to know how to add a "message not sent. send again?" button into the messenging tab messenger that would save me a lot of copy paste!
regards
smit
Sent from my Tilt 2
I had all data turned off by AT&T. We have a familty text plan and I could send all the SMS texts I wanted to. I could not send an MMS without data turned on, even there was no additional charge for MMS. I was using a Razr 3 at the time.
i don't know if you start and send a txt message as an mms message if it will actually be sent that way.

Have you tried the HTC connection setup app on the marketplace?
that won't help as it uses the settings sent out from the network, giffgaff you have to manually set them and as per the Anyone managed to send an MMS yet thread there are no manual setting entry points
hey,
just got it all working, used HTC Connection setup again, making sure i selected giffgaff and all works, i have sent and received mms with no probs!! didnt even have to reset the phone!
Did you unlock your phone, or is it still locked to O2 using giffgaff? I only ask as I'm on giffgaff, and while the connection setup tool has internet data working fine, I can't send or receive mms, just says "cannot send, try again?" whenever I try.
I've been able to get it now receiving MMS it would appear, but still says can't send message whenever I try to send one. Just thought, do you need credit (other than a goodybag) in your account to send it - would it say cannot send if there was no credit and so the network refused?
Right ignore me (I think I'm gabbling to myself anyway!) it was because I had a goodybag but no actual credit, and since MMS are not included in goodybags, it wouldn't send. Just topped up some credit and went through no problem

How to send text messages using CDMA without SIM card

I am able to make and receive calls and I am able to receive text messages but I am not able to send them. Is there a app or a way that I am able to send SMS messages using 3g without a SIM card. I do have a data connection and service period when using one app it tells me preferred SIM card is not selected. I am unable to get a SIM card at this time because Sprint no longer carries them so I need a way to send text messages from my phone9
