if you can get into the recovery screen or bootloader it is not bricked and since you said all you got to the android screen you are just bootlooping. try to wipe, run fix file extensions, reflash rom, hopefully that will fix the bootloop. if not try to flash jf1.51 since it does not do an auto apps2sd. at least from there you can sleep knowing your phone is usable then when you have time you can re-partition your sdcard and go back to cyanogen's rom
ive run file extensions and it saids... error checkin filesystems! run e2fsck manualy in console? is that what I should do?
ive run the file extension run the e2fsk in console, wipin, reflashin and it still turned into a black screen when I get to the blue android flashin logo...
now ive remove the sd card from the phone and tried turned it on and when i got to the android screen it , the phone turned off and i think IAM now bricked since I cant turn it back on... wow
if the redlight still appear does that means theres still hope???
okay tried camera and red button and it worked but said battery charge to low so I guess it was just runnin out of battery..ill get back to it once it charged enough.
please someone take time to help me thank you...
anyone have any idea on how to solve this problem???

try to either repartition your sdcard. or flash JF 1.51 because it doesn't require any partitions then you will have a phone while you can partition your card for cyanogen's rom
so if I change teh Sd card you think it will work?
cause Im having an HARD time partitining my sd card it seem like its my stickin point in allthose processing...
you could try

Hi,
I had a 1.5 G1. I rooted it and updated to a JF1.5.1
I decided to experiment a little bit more and I tried to install HardSPL. It said to have installed correctly, but after the reboot, it is stuck continuously at the G1 screen. I tried to get to the bootloader or the recovery console, but it is not happening.
I have tried home+power, camera+power, back+power, but no matter what it just goes and sits in the G1 screen. I took a nandroid backup before installing the hardspl, but if the phone doesnt boot up at all, I dont know what to do.
Can someone please please help me out? Is there anything at all I can do? I will be lost if my phone is bricked. I have got it from US to India and I don't think I can get a replacement warranty here. ((((
Thanks in Advance.
Sorry but...I think it's bricked if it can't access recovery or bootloader
There's no fix out yet... take a look at this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=533004
i think i got a solution cuz i dont think its brickedcuz this happened to me and i found that it my recovery.img got corrupt and all i did was redownloaded the recovery.img to my computer and extracted it to my sd card and sucssesfully booted into recovery mode try this maybe itll work if not your bricked
he already said he can't get to recovery
Doesn't the SPL or Recovery appear before the G1 screen? I'm pretty sure he's tried pulling the battery, holding down HOME (or CAMERA depending on which mode he wants to go into) then putting the battery back in... If not then he should give it a go...

No it does not.
Thanks guys for all your support... until something new comes up, I guess I am screwed. I dont think anyone else would have bricked their G1 in just 3 days.
I had rooted it and it was working fine until I let curiosity get the better of me and I decided to see what else I could flash on to the device. Sucks...
I brick mine the second day, so i guess i hold the record
Interesting. This did happen to me when I was messing with the JAChero Rom. During some of the steps it asked you to install the the latest SPL. It tells you in the steps that it will hang on the G1. You'll need an SD Card reader but put a stable rom on the SD Card, rename it update.zip and reflash. This did work for me. Hope the same out come for you!
well i have had cyogenmod 3.6.8.1 for awhile and everything works perfectly and smoothly but i just turned off my phone to switch to my new 2400mah battery and when i turned it back on i got past the splash screen but now its stuck at the android boot loop so i thought wait acouple minutes...and well.. no luck. i dont get it...any ideas?
try fixing the ext file system. It could have been messed up if you just took the battery out. If that doesnt work, try wiping and reflashing the ROM. Btw, does it work with the normal battery in?
wipe
if you can get into recovery then u know everything is fine. if u can get the update file for the rom on ur sd then wipe and flash it see wht happens then
Usually these problems can be taken care of with a wipe and a reflash of the ROM. Hopefully you performed a nandroid backup and can restore your settings. If not, there is really no other way but to wipe and reflash and lose your data.

well i shut the phone down properly but i tried what you said anyways... and on the first try it had an error and told me to run it manually..but i tried again and it worked so i rebooted but still no luck. i did a nandroid backup recently...could that possibly have anything to do with it?
and also...when i did the nandroid awhile ago...it got stuck at the boot loop as well...so i did the wipe/update and it worked. and now i turned off my phone for the battery change and this happens....it seems like maybe its something with the rom? idk...i dont see why a nandroid would mess anything up
i suggest to wipe and reflash. That should fix it.

Set up ADB using the guide in the sticky, and connect your phone through USB
type
Code:
adb logcat
as you boot your phone
see if anything is repeating. if nothing ever shows up, its possible that the battery could be defective

try this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535797&highlight=wipe+ext
But after you install cyans recovery image (or if you already have it installed)
* FSCK for ext filesystems from the menu
if that doesnt work then wipe
i have a class 6 adata 8gb 2gb ext4 64mb swap rest fat32
im running cyanogen 4.0.2 or 4.0.4 whichever one i load up from sd at the time, but both are stable. i have newest radio and spl also. the issue is simple. i can get into recovery mode and bootloader menu. everytime i reboot it goes to bootloader menu(3 skateboards). camera button is not held down either or stuck. the only way to get past this screen is to evertime i reboot to factory wipe and install new rom which is a pain. i was wondering if by having the original image DREAIMG file in a folder on my sd is whats causing this. but now that i cant get past this screen i cant remove it from sd. i also already tried mounting sd to comp from console using: "ums_enable" it does nothing(tried it on 3 computers). im tired of reseting and reflashing. pls some assistance.
Have you tried to reflash the SPL? You could just redo the entire root process and replace everything.
New Isuue, Same Problem
Sorry it took so long to get back here. No I haven't tried that. How could it be the SPL? Im asking it in a meaningful way, like why and/or how could it be?
I will reflash the SPL tonight and edit post if it works.
I also erased my sd card and re partioned in in "parted" it booted fine. The battery died today and i rebooted it and BAM! bootloader screen again. So i factory reset and flashed a new ROM image. then it worked fine. now only problem is the private apps i have installed wont work and they get stuck on uninstalling....Whats the fix for that?
Thanks XDA!!
You need to start over and replace everything. It sounds like you have multiple problems. Use THIS guide starting with the downgrade bacause it will reflash EVERYTHING on your phone. If the problem persist then it's hardware issues. Redownload everything, don't use anything you already downloaded because these files might be bad too.
Ok, I might have bricked my phone. I had the cm7/Aosp gingerbread mod. But I didn't have apps2sd enabled. So I downloaded rom manager, flashed the newest version of clockwork recovery, and rebooted to recovery, where I partitioned for apps 2 sd with a size of 256 mb and 128mb swap-space . I then factory reset, and formatted Boot, cache, data, everything. After that I went to mount as Usb, and I copied the Rom, gapps, and a battery icon mod back to the phone. But the phone didn't recognize any installable packages on my sd after I un-mounted, so I shut my Hero off in hopes it would when I turned it back on p) . When I turned the Hero on, it went to a Usb-fastboot mode, and I couldn't get it to turn off so I removed the battery from the back of my phone, then put it back in. Now my phone won't turn on at all. Does anybody know what I did wrong and can I fix it?

not sure if this will help but maybe you can find some info there
Hopefully that squared you away. But for future question, please post it in the general or question section. This area is specifically for devs and their projects.

Thanks Spleef, but I was wondering how to get my phone to turn on again as it seems to have just quit on me
Whenever a ROM doesn't boot up properly, boot loop, freeze, etc, I usually have to pull the battery out. Then when I restart it, I hold down the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time to boot into recovery. Try doing this while the phone is plugged into your wall charger and see if that helps.
Also, I'm not 100% on how to get the apps2sd working, but I had a question about which version of Clockwork you were using. I thought with CM7 Gingerbread we were supposed to use version 3.0.0.5 of Clockwork. I know there is a new version, 2.5.1.7 I think, that shows up in ROM Manager. Unless something has changed, I don't think it will work with CM7.
I'm still pretty new to this, so hopefully someone else will chime in here for you.
Good luck.
i did the same thing one time you gota wipe everything again i mean even the sd card and extthen take ur sd card adapter and put rom gapps any extras on ur sd card then put it back into ur phone then flash it in the order of rom, gapps, extras, and kernel last if u are using one hope this helps
p.s this was using CWM 2.5.0.1
This just happened to me the other day, except I was trying to use firerats partition mod. See if it will boot by holding volume down or up while powering on. It worked for me, but I had to ruu back to stock and had reroot with z4root.apk

Ok anytime you do a factory reset from the phone you most likely will loose root. And leave your phone charged over night it should come back on. And your swap is to big IMO. For apps to sd try a 28 or 32 swap and 512 partition. Then upgrade you ext from ext2 to ext3. And you were supposed to wipe everything before you flashed the apps to sd file. As in wipe everything data,cache,dev-cache and ext. Then flash your rom,google-apps,and kernel last. Boot up sign into your account and let it sync. Then boot to recovery and flash the apps2sd zip. After that you should install your apps. And I think you should ruu and reroot. Sounds like you lost root when you did factory reset from with in the phone. Just my opinion. Hope it helps good luck.

Hi i have a bell galaxy s i just flash ugkc1 firmware but when the phone boots i get force close message for almost every app.
i think the internal sd might be corrupted tried to format it but all files are still there
any idea ??
thank you
your SD card usually nothing to do with application force close, those files which you see after formatting on SD card should be there so do not worry about them.
if you want to find the reason explain about your previous rom and kernel. did you do a factory reset or wipe before and after rom installation?
Here is two simalar topics. I also have that problem and cannot solve it yet.

When i looked in internet i found sth similar for HTC, but devs corrected it. They parted some files from working devices and pushed it to system with adb.

Maybe sth like that will also solve our problem but we need help.
If you find any sollution please infrom us. Maybe it will be useful for us too.

thanks for your replies

I doubt it is an SD problem. Go to recovery, clear cache and dalvik and fix permissions. If the problem persists to a factory reset and reinstall your apps from the market.

thanks again for tryin to help i already tried this but didnt work
Edit :
flashed back to stock 2.2.. now i get ''blank internal sd'' on the notification bar. phone doesn't seem to detect internal sd card is this a hardware or software problem ?
thanks
now i flashed sppedmode kernel phone seems to be running a little better ( less force closes messages) but i still can't delete files or format my sd card
any idea ?
I tried to flash darky 9.2 (odin version). Then i reach with ADB to the internal when it is in CWM. I pushed there some custom roms and flashed with CWM. But it did not help either.
isn't there any way to fix a corrupted sd card ?
