For those of you running cyanogen builds, there is an app in the market called AdvancedLauncher that will give you submenu and extended option as well as a few others. I have tested it with cyanogen 4.0.4 with meizu theme and it works to perfection.
I just saw this on the market and came here to see if there was any info. I've installed it on Cyanogen v4.0.3 and all seems well.
I was wondering, would there be any perfomance difference in running this app version rather than pushing the Launcher.apk?
It's the same as the thread here:

Hi guys
I know this topic area has been posted before, but I wondered whether there was a way to sort the apps alphabetically now specifically that FroYo has been released?
I tried looking at one method, but I couldn't find what they were suggesting under settings.
in the list-mode it's alpabetical though.
I know. But I don't like it. I like Grid View. I know it's picky but it'd be a really simple thing for Samsung to do... :/
Search in market for TouchWiz Application Sorter.
It requires rooted phone and stock TouchWiz 3.0.
Hope I'm not hijacking here, but is there any launcher except Touchwhiz that has a list display? I'd actually prefer a pure text list display with no icons, but that's unlikely I'd guess.
There is a modified version of touchwiz for froyo in either the Apps or development forums that does that and s also supports landscape mode. Works great

Hi
because of the Touchwiz 3.0 issue with not sorting alphabetically in grid view (crazy development by the way) i switched to GO Launcher EX which is much much better. It has many more features and is still quite small.
Cheers
Alex
I know this topic is rather old, but there is a solution.. although a dumb one.
1. Go into settings.
2. Go into Applications
3. Select all applications
4. Go down to TWLauncher or something to that effect.
5. Clear Data
Back out of everything... you'll notice TouchWiz is not working anymore. Press the home button and wait a bit or restart your device.
Everything now sorted properly.
**NOTE: I've had my home screens reset too, although this doesn't happen all the time.. If you decide to use this method, be prepared to add stuff to your home screen again (widgets, modified 4 buttons at the bottom, etc)**
"appzorter" downloadable from the market for free works fine to sort the apps alphabetically in the app drawer on touchwiz UI

Thank you very much. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Best app for sorting apps: appzorter. Download it from the Android market. It's free.

I have searched the posts for the stock desktop widgets- specifically the ap-news/accuweather widget but I have not found it. Someone took the time to zip up the Samsung signed Widgets but after installing in recovery mode they don't appear (may not even be included. Does anyone know of the marketplace app name or where I can find the stock widget?
Thanks!

you do know you require the TouchWiz to use the Samsung Widgets, Correct?
No - don't even know really what TouchWiz is. I realize now what it is. Between that post and today though I had to revert back to the stock ROM. My Exchange account kept "disappearing".
So...I now have the stock widgets!
BTW - there are some things I really liked in the Axura ROM - the "all applications" section (cube like scrolling) - is that something that is usually baked into the ROM or is that modifiable/replaceable in any ROM?

the Stock Launcher and Launcher pro both offer that 3d app drawer, but you will lose the stock widgets.
I have rooted and read everything about flashing a custom ROM to my phone. I have the OG Droid. I wanna know which one do ya'll think will be the best? I am currently using Home++ as my home replacement and Widget Locker for the lock screen. I would like a ROM that I can use these on but won't have to fight through multiple themes and built in 3rd party launchers to use. Any Suggestions?
I've been using Cyanogen mod for close to a year. It's great, clean, fast, and updates regularly. The default launcher is ADW, but you will have no problem switching it to Home++.
forum.cyanogenmod. com/forum/13-motorola-droid/ (delete the space and copy/paste. I cannot post links for some reason.)
I'd recommend the CyanogenMod too, nadlabak did some great work there..
It's clean, fast and pretty stable so far..
Of course you can use the Home-Replacement and Widgets you like there
I'm noticing my widgets disappearing after a reboot. It's there a fix?

I started to have that problem on 2.0.6 on HD with another launcher. I found it selective which Widgets did not load. Updating to the latest version of the widget sometimes helped.

Fwiw go launcher hd doesn't have a problem.
Ohhh ... better use then Nova Launcher. Smooth, fast, stable and tons of options (for beginner and advanced).
Hope i end tweaked, modified and optimized theme, based on Nova Launcher and Ultimate custom widget (UCCW). I like Nook simplicity and conciseness. Also i try then inverted version. These are my plans. This alpha i post here too, maybe someone want it.
