Hi all,
Does anyone know of an application or fix for the volume keys in WinMo 6.5? Default behaviour is that both up and down volume butttons bring up an icon list and you have to select the speaker icon to get to the volume changer. Really sucky if you are in a call and want to adjust the volume, etc. You have to push either button, then select the icon and THEN change the volume with the keys.
I know there is an application called SetVolume, but it has only one setting and it overrides the system volume settings... not possible to use separate ringer and system volumes properly.
Any help would be appreciated since this behaviour is incredibly frustrating. I can't believe MS went from great functionality of the volume key on 6.1 to this steaming pile of .... stuff.

Are you sure it's come from WinMo 6.5?
Maybe it's the normal behaviour with manila 2.5 (I have never use it)
I use touch-it v13.2 (WinMo 6.5 and manila 2.1) and the volume buttons work fine...

It's an issue with the latest 6.5 builds.
And about the issue, is it maybe possible to assign the buttons to control the volume, maybe through the original double slider program or ae buttons or something?

Hi,
I deactivated the HTC dialer so I can use S2U2... Now I have the problem that I cannot change the speaker volume during a call with the side-keys (e.g. if I press the volume down key it opens the standard system volume application by HTC)
So there might be 2 solutions:
1st: Is there a way to deactivate the HTC sound GUI and change it back to the windows built in volume changer?
2nd: Is there a tool / little program to change the volume of the speaker during a phone call?
Thanks for your help / solutions...
ageye
doesnt anyone have a clue?
how do you others change the volume during a call if you use standard wm6 dialer and not the one from htc?
Woohoooo!
Solved it - so if anyone is interested in the solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2404514&postcount=514
Thanks for posting this... however that service doesn't seem to exist.
My guess would be that HTC have changed things in a recent update and that would explain why the Volume Control settings in Diamond Tweak don't work either - Tried in Duttys Diamond 1.8 and SwiftBL 7.0
Does anyone know any other way to disable the HTC volume control, short of cooking a new ROM without it?
Solved!

does anybody knows if it's possible to use volume controle during call with htс phone skin disabled? I know only that it is included into the skin. but I didn't like the skin ( I use inesoft dialer instead) because it takes up to 10 M RAM and decrease whole system speed when active.
but with it disabled volume during call can't be changed.
HELP, PLEASE, IF YOU CAN!!!
I am currently also looking for a solution to this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
Brevi
See post #2 of the link in my signature. There's a link to another thread with a CAB file to disable the HTC volume control.

Disabling the HTC volume control (the full screen one) allows the standard WM popup volume control to work. This has two controls for system and ring volume and a separate one for in-call volume that only appears during a call.
There is actually a setting to enable this popup in DiamondTweak but, as far as I can tell, it doesn't work with recent ROMs. The cab is the only method that I know of to adjust in-call volume when not using the HTC dialer.
yes, thanks, I used cab you mentioned. it works with standard wm means. it's better than nothing. are there in the thread interest ing dialer skins?
EXISTS ANOTHER WAY!!!
at 4pda you can find volume control from htc opal. the only thing - it's in qvga. so, if somebody could resize...YOU ARE WELCOME!
Interesting... have you got a screenshot?
How is it better than the WM popup? I actually like the popup now that I have changed the notification colours in my theme. I also like the way that the volume keys can still work when the device is locked - very handy for playing music.
In case anyone is interested, here are some screens of the standard popup:
sorry, that volume control controls only system and ring volume. anyway, I'm trying now to find in call volume control at 4pda.ru
you shouldnt link to warez ^^
Hi everyone, i spent hours searching, hours cooking and doing tests but no luck, i can't get working HTC volume control or gtrab SEX1 volume control with Xperia hardware volume button under WM 6.5, it always shows up winmo volume control which sucks IMHO.
However it works with task bar speaker icon.
Is anybody there that have had success getting these apps working with
Xperia hardware button or have a working cab under WM 6.5?
Thanks in advance, and cheers to all of you cooking addicts friends...!
Still no answers...
Up !
I guess 'cos there are still no solutions and it's depressing to post something negative
I'm not sure but i believe that when i had Touch-IT Xperience 14.2 rom i had that volume control or something similar.
Cheers!
Ok, it bugs me a little having to reflash my phone for now but i'll try Touch-IT 14.2 and see if it works with hardware button, because this f****n winmo volume annoys me, i wanna get rid of this and have a cool volume control interface.
Thanks.
I have TouchIt 14.2 and there is the same issue.
you can access the HTC control via
Windows Button (1 short time) -> New Windows Notification enhancement comes up at top -> click Windows logo in the middle (maybe for not known things...) -> HTC Volume control.
ok thank you all for your answers...
The new Valkyrie ROMs open the volume app from the volkey buttons now, but it still jumps in 20% increments. It's a big improvement, though!
It appears in the Rhodium Thread they have found a way to use HTC Volume Control on 6.5.x ROMs and get rid of that annoying default control. The fix doesnt seem to for the Blackstone however, anyone out there can figure this out?

solution for volume control problem
This one seems to work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=242804&d=1257180276
Tested on: Miri WM 6.5 21887 :: MANILA 2.5 :: REV 16.0
It gives back volume control via the buttons on the left-side of your Touch HD. However it doesn't make a distinction between system and phone volume. In either way you have your (side) volume control back!
Just copy the .cab to your device and run it through file explorer.
Cheers!
The problem with all the volume control packages is that you can't change the incall volume anymore when you install them.

This volume slider cannot change the volume while during a call. And the volume icon sometimes do not change instantly if you use this control, so you don't know what is the sound mode right now.
Fix found
Hello there,
I'm not really used to post anything - so please be easy on me
Setvolume0.7.0 does not seems to work on my installation (T8282, Miri65_21887_v16), so that I successfully tried 'Touch-IT Blackstone volumecontrol.cab' from HD_CABs_for_X1.rar (pretty sure I cannot post it along, just surf the web for it).
Now up/down buttons works as regular volume/ringer controls on my device.
Hope to have been of help.

Did you try the operation of hardware buttons during the ongoing call? Are they working normally during the call?
downloaded and installed "Touch-IT Blackstone volumecontrol.cab" from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442154
Works great actually. Only problem is that the volume icon changed to a white one and not the one I had in my NRG-rom. Small price for a working volume.

give a try!
I know this is probably the dumbest question ever, but I had WM 6.1 and could change the volume by simply pressing the little volume icon on the top bar..now I upgraded my phone with a rom to WM 6.5 and whenever i click that icon it just goes to notifications and theres nowhere to change the volume profile! and I seriously googled the issue like nobodys business, I don't know if this is normal for 6.5 or what! the only way i can change the volume profile is using touchflo, going to settings etc. and that sometimes takes way too long when i want a quick shortcut to change the volume asap! and if i don't want to use touchflo, theres no way to change it!
so, basically, if any of you kind people can let me know...is it normal first off for WM6.5 to not let you click the volume icon on the top start menu?
and if it is a bug..do you know how i could fix it? is it possibly a rom bug? should i flash a new rom?

Here's a nice and handy volume changing tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395695
You can assign it to one of the hardware buttons (I personally have it assigned to the top voice command button as I don't use voice dialling) and it makes changing volume easier than ever.
