I know this is probably the dumbest question ever, but I had WM 6.1 and could change the volume by simply pressing the little volume icon on the top bar..now I upgraded my phone with a rom to WM 6.5 and whenever i click that icon it just goes to notifications and theres nowhere to change the volume profile! and I seriously googled the issue like nobodys business, I don't know if this is normal for 6.5 or what! the only way i can change the volume profile is using touchflo, going to settings etc. and that sometimes takes way too long when i want a quick shortcut to change the volume asap! and if i don't want to use touchflo, theres no way to change it!
so, basically, if any of you kind people can let me know...is it normal first off for WM6.5 to not let you click the volume icon on the top start menu?
and if it is a bug..do you know how i could fix it? is it possibly a rom bug? should i flash a new rom?

try it with the HTC equalizer or SRS WOW HD to fix
SetVolume
Here's a nice and handy volume changing tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395695
You can assign it to one of the hardware buttons (I personally have it assigned to the top voice command button as I don't use voice dialling) and it makes changing volume easier than ever.

hey guys,
ever since i played around with some of my settings (kaiser tweak), whenever i click anywhere on the top taskbar (volume, battery, connections, etc), it gives me this little menu where i then select which option i wanna go to.. it used to be where i can click on the battery and it pops up, or i click on the megaphone looking thing, and i can adjust the sound, in one click, not two.. anybody know how i can restore it to the way it was? ekhh... thanks

i have this bug every now and again on Dutty's ROM, a soft reset seems to fix mine, anyone else had anything similar to this?
I have same situation when PocketMusic player is running. It locks volume change somehow. Up/Down buttons shows volume screen, but do not change volume. It doesn't matter if player is running foreground or background. When I exit the player, buttons work again as expected.
Maybe you have same problem.
phone pad style did not work. but after hard reset it become ok. I had this problem in OEM ROM Dutty and swift, so I think one of my applications make this problem, I should install my application one by one tonight and find buggy application.
I have the same issue that caused by VibrationFeedbackConfig app. I have to use the default bubble volume slider instead cuz I want to keep this app.
To do that, using a registry editor, go to HLCU\Software\HTC\Bootlauncher\Services\HTCVOLUME, rename \Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll to \Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll.bak and reset your device.

Hello
Is it possible to have a blank wm6 without all of the customization that HTC add to the diamond eg WM dialer, wm keyboard WM sound control.
Thank you
Could u repeat the question??? in a elaborate manner cause i didn't understand it all.....
I think he wants a clean boot...
I once had a E-ten X500+ and when you hard reset it you could stop the E-ten programs installation by pressing a button during the installation process, so you had a clean WinMo device without the E-ten apps.
Just soft-reset your device when the customizing starts....
Wow I haven't thought of that...
But does that mean you don't have the touchflo3d too? I really don't need that. Also is it safe to do that because you could mess up your device, not???
Hi Whitefalcon This what I meant,
1-without the touchflo addition
2-With windows mobile pop out sound bar when i press up/down volume button, not the annoying black system volume/phone volume.
3-without annoying grey text preview stripe above when i type.
4- With windows Internet explorer (eg without Opera)
thanks and have very nice day.
Thank you so much ChiefmasterB'
Soft reset during customization worked fine although it was tricky timing when to press.
If you still know other ways it would be good to hear.
Thank you for the tip, I didn't know that it is possible.
Cheers

So can you tell us exactly when to soft reset? Maybe a screen shot of the exact time to soft reset... That would be handy...

Sounds like you need a clean ROM.
Panosha Simple 1.1 is all the things you have mentioned. It does include the Diamond dialer but it is easy to disable.
I've done some searching but I'm really not sure what it's called, so all my results have come up with nothing.
I just want the volume control from wm6.1, where you press the volume icon and it brings up all the notifications such as the volume icon, Edge/3G, your phone signal, and battery. Usually it brings up 4 icons.
Most wm6.5 roms now have this new htc "notifications." The only problem with it is you can't adjust your volume anymore by pressing the volume icon, you need to map the volume to a different button.
I just installed m2d on mine, and can't adjust in call volume anymore. When I scroll the wheel during a call, it just adjusts system, and ring volume, never changing in call volume. It is so loud during the call I set the phone during a call and listen from 5 feet away. So I would be interested in this as well, it would be nice to go back to the stock volume control via a .cab file.
Think your asking for Large Title Bar..... I'm not sure you can have Large Title Bar with the new notifications?
Atached is VoluPOP it installs to Windows & Places a .lnk in Start Menu/Programs so you can map it if wish?

boss1234, in the latest PDAcorner (august 11th) the in call volume problem has been fixed. alternatively, you could do what mrdiavolo did to fix the problem and install Mega Canvas:

Hi all,
Does anyone know of an application or fix for the volume keys in WinMo 6.5? Default behaviour is that both up and down volume butttons bring up an icon list and you have to select the speaker icon to get to the volume changer. Really sucky if you are in a call and want to adjust the volume, etc. You have to push either button, then select the icon and THEN change the volume with the keys.
I know there is an application called SetVolume, but it has only one setting and it overrides the system volume settings... not possible to use separate ringer and system volumes properly.
Any help would be appreciated since this behaviour is incredibly frustrating. I can't believe MS went from great functionality of the volume key on 6.1 to this steaming pile of .... stuff.

Are you sure it's come from WinMo 6.5?
Maybe it's the normal behaviour with manila 2.5 (I have never use it)
I use touch-it v13.2 (WinMo 6.5 and manila 2.1) and the volume buttons work fine...

It's an issue with the latest 6.5 builds.
And about the issue, is it maybe possible to assign the buttons to control the volume, maybe through the original double slider program or ae buttons or something?
