hi, every respectful cooker:
i would say i really enjoy using WM6.5
but i found a problem in the lock screen and the alarm:
if you lock your device and let it automatically sleep, alarm doesn't work until you wake up your device manually.
you know, sometime alarm are important. like missing a date
I encounter this problem twice,
one in Daviduek WM6.5 the previous one, i don't test the new one since i want the touch flo 3D.
another is Miri V5.1 & V5.2 V4 Premium; -----, V3.x and V2 are fine, others i don't know, since he update so freqently.
to my honest, i have kept flashing all day long~~~pretty tired
Later, then i reflash my rom back to Miri 3.3, things just work fine. is it matter with the build version?
And i really enjoy using Manila 3, since the htc enhance menu is much fast than the original one. But however Miri V5.1 is unstable. Hopefully Maryone's 6.5 could make this happen.
but what i found is that the Clock always automatically set back one hour in Manila 3, any of you guys know this issue and the solution?
Then, as the coming out of Maryone's 6.5, i can't wait to flash. The rom is good, faster. However, the lock function is a mess. and i believe that, only the build 21193 would have the lock function fully functioning. Since i try 21195 and 21198, they all have the problem i said in the beginning of this thread.
So, should we focus on build 21193?
i use Miri v5.1 XtraLight, and i don't encounter this problem. my alarm works fine.
sorry mate.

I use Miri's full version, not having this problem.
Try using Galarm, it's the best alarm application you can get, and it's free.

Wow, you already have the Maryone 6.5? awesome~~dude
From my last 2 weeks of experience with 6.5, titanium is more stable than using manila. It's a matter of getting used. Since these are beta roms, there are bound to be bugs and got to live with it for now. It might get worse when you try to install apps designed for 6.1.
So far these 2 days has been the happiest period with 6.5 and yet to see the need for soft reset.
Mri's 5.1 is perfectly stable!
I do also suffer from the time bug and without any 3rd party apps installed, it has been discussed in other device threads that the issue is latest Manila3, who knows.
Installed DST2007-8_1-2 and also unchecked the auto update time function, no resolve!

i don't know which package of 5.1 you are using, i used premium once, the pop out enhance menu happens to be blank but tapable if you remember the position of the keys.
em, hopefully time issue it will be solved soon~

Miri's ROM v5.1 premium has problem with HTC notification. If you want the premium version, take the V5.2 Premium. Most of the bugs have been fixed.

Cheers,
Hello,
I'm running topix 2.5 (however my guess will be that all roms with the new manila will have this problem). The problem is that I want to revert to the standard WM dialer so I can use PocketShield "better" again.
With the old manila it was no problem to turn on this dialer but now it does not show any information anymore. You can see that on the screen capture below. The lines are empty, but the links still work, so only the callers name is not shown. Do not mind the colors, I just applied a skin in the hope it works again.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

As for as I know, there would be NO WAY !!!
And I think this is not because of the New Manila but the Phone Canvas (Topaz, Rhodium).
Why would there be no way?
If it's the phone canvas as you suggest.. This is just a package right, so somehow it should be possible to remove this package...
Still hoping to find a fix in the near future...!

Yes, at least no way at the moment until this is to be done by HTC. This issue has been discussed many times in Miri's ROM Thread. Hopefully it will be fixed in near future
Why did it suddenly disappear from all the ROMs?
Even Rota's has only photo and music rotation, AFAIK
Landscape on LEO manila 2.5 is not fully implemented by HTC, the cooks are unable to fix that. Only the photo and music tab supports it at the moment.
If you need landscape, there's a CAB for landscape SMS in Leo or go for a manila 2.1.
I'm sorry, but how many times have people been over this? HTC didn't implement landscape mode into Manila 2.5, except for Music and Photos tab. And even then, it ONLY works with phones that have a G-Sensor, so not the X1.

So it's an issue that came with the 2.5? I know I'm looking dumb but I want to fully understand this and I suppose there are others like me that are confused.
It was in 2.1 but not in 2.5? We should wait for HTC to do that?

As for G-Sensor, G-Spot should cover that but there still remain all the other tabs.
In the end, is patience the answer of my problems?
HTC ONLY does Manilla rotation for its keyboarded devices.... so until there is a release of Manilla for a Leo Pro, they'll be no oem rotation in the latest Leo builds of Manilla.
IMO, just another reason to ditch inefficient Manilla for either PointUI, or SPB

It's not an issue. It simply isn't supported. There isn't any need for it yet, as the HTC HD2 (Leo) doesn't have a slide out keyboard. So there is no need for a landscape home screen really. There is landscape support on the music and photo tabs, as some people may like to browse their photos and music that way.
When/if HTC decide to put Manila 2.5 on a Pro device with a keyboard, then we might see landscape mode for the other tabs. As of yet, there is nothing, and there will be nothing until HTC make it so.
It is not a bug, it is not an issue. HTC didn't make it yet, as the HD2 doesn't need it.
the interesting point is that I still can not find a ROM with manila 2.1 which has no bug .... because it's very important for me to be able to rotate the screen in manila ....
energy ROM has some bug with sms botton ... I've got really confused ....

Tell me about getting confused, there are several roms with 2.1 manila that has full support on landscape, if it didnt have, then the cook hsa done a error (unlikely) or its disabled by the cook (rather unlikely too)
But a bugfree rom will only be a reality in your dreams im afraid, cause there is no such thing. Not from us, or HTC nor SE..
I have not tested other chefs roms in here with manila 2.1, but mine sure do have landscape

Which ROM did you try?
I´ve had at least 3 which are stable - and if there is something you might perceive as a bug, it is often related to another application and/or setting I did or had to do myself.
There are quite a few Manila 2.1 based ROM´s today which you can try, with WinMo 6.1 or even 6.5 "underneath".
BTW, the worst ROM I ever had was the stock ROM. Shame on SE.

thanks for your answer ... yes I just found several ROMs with manila 2.1 and there is no problem with rotation ... but for example one of them use a lot of RAM (60%) , one of them has some problem with sms ...
for this reason I overlook manila 2.5 ... and I think energy ROM up to now is the best choice ...

Hi rpimps,
please refer to the following thread for more information on reccommended 6.1 ROMs:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539646
I would personally reccommend you try out Duttythroy's final 6.1, 4.3 version, but if not already done so, you will need to register via this site (HTCPedia.com) as his roms were exclusive to HTCPedia.com.
Here's the link: http://htcpedia.com/duttys-wm-6_1-v-rom-final/soft/htc-blackstone-rom.html
Bear in mind that it's really down to your own personal taste when trying to determine which ROM is best, as each cook has their own style.
Regards.

When you go to Contacts (through Contacts program, not through Phone and then contacts) and then click Menu, it freezes. Has no one else had this problem? If a rom has a bug, can reflashing it fix it?
Reflashing is always the first step yes. Sometimes the flash was bad so it might fix it. Hard reset twice once the device has been flashed just to make sure....

Cool, I just reflashed it and hard reset twice like you said and it doesn't have that problem anymore. For some reason it won't connect 3G though, I've never had this problem before and I set up ATT settings as usual (and I'm in the same location). Do I need to do something else?

It says 3G and there's an option to "set to auto" and if you click "set to auto" it changes to "set to gsm" so I guess it's in GSM already

Nothing to do with contacts. My suggestion is to switch roms at this time. But hard reset twice with each new flash.
I personally recommend PhamQuangs. That's the link to the thread started here at xda for him, he cooks both Manila 2.1 and 2.5.
If you're interested in flashing one, shoot me a PM and give you the link.
I like Manila 2.1 too, very fast and smootly, i don't understand all rommer why use only M2.5. (i tried many version...)
I like WM6.5.3 with M2.1, very fast and shine combination
PhamQuangs's newest ROM only with M2.5
tried a few M2.5
eat my batteries for supper.....
now sticking with topix W6.5 M2.1 till further notice
very fast indeed
and a full charge last me more than 2 days with about 1hr call in total and listening to music
BUT
i cant get the transparent clock and transparent slider to work!!
any advice?
no more m2.1!!
I think people are tired of manila 2.1. I cant stand it anymore..
And manila 2.5 DOES NOT make HD slow.... the thing that make our device slow is animated wallpaper... only this...
bye
i really recommend miris test roms with wm 6.5.3 28011 and m2.1

Hi
Is there any Topaz ROM that does not have any of these sms bugs/problems:
1. Slowing down to a crawl while writing a long sms;
2. While writing an sms having words combine because the space bar just doesnt register or the keyboard is too laggy;
3. While writing an sms having the cursor return to the start of the message or at another line during writing a message;
4. Not being able to view, or losing the view window, when writing an sms resulting in having to re-tap the view/text writing window once or twice to see what is being written.
I have said this many times HTC messaging IS ATROCIOUS and these bugs make it downright annoying and unfunctional.
Is there any chef who has cooked with the latest 2.5 ROMS (as at Feb 2010) that has somehow fixed these problems or does HTC Messaging remain a crap app?
An annoyed Aussie
PS I have applied all the HTC SMS fix, Zenee's fix but to no avail.
it is getting better, but a perfect htc messaging is a farcry....hopeless.
btw the so-called hotfix is also useless.
Not Just Me
Thanks
At least it's not just me with these problems.
Can anyone provide us with an email address to someone of worth at HTC? I would love to let them in on these problems.
Cheers

you can always google, not that will be of any help, I suspect.
ppl here said anything about (1)htc messaging is not intended to accommodate large number of texts, and/or (2)htc messaging is designed for Sense 2.1, not Sense 2.5
well, somebody somewhere is doing something about it, just have to be patient.
I believe you meant to say that htc messaging is designed for 2.5 not 2.1
It is also designed for snapdragon 1ghz processor. our processors cannot act as fast and therefore htc messaging is EXTRA slow

thanks for the correction.
however come to think of it, htc messaging on 2.1 is superb.
oh well.
When I use HTC messaging to create a new sms, and when I press Ok or Send,
the message will be send out, but the screen will hung....
Any other functions are OK but I can't use htc messaging anymore...still the same screen...
anybody can help?
Yeah, just disable the program, search 'zenyee disable' or 'disable htc messaging'.
Only one bug in recent ROMs that uses manila 2.5.1922 or 2.5.2010: the unread bubble doesn't dissapear after reading the message. If you don't mind not seeing the bubble at all (you have the notification icon in top-bar) this can be resolved by removing the 'sms patch.exe' from windows/start up/ directory (after installing the cab from the thread i pointed you at).
Oh and did I tell you that when used on manila 2.5.2010 the patch reverts to manila 2.1 sms messaging style?
I hope this thread becomes well known in the community for the solution to this catastrophic issue. I experience all the above mentioned problems and more, htc sense 2.5 msging is just unusable.
somebody just posted and claimed that he/she just ended the calamity surrounding htc messaging by installing the IME (touch input method or something).
I've got the same... I tried Leo IV, Prime I, new roms from NhatHoa, bysio and still big problems with sms... Now on NhatHoa I can't send sms, its still in outbox, SR doesn't help. it's got nothng to do with the ROM, like I said. It's just the HTC Messaging on Sense 2.5 is kinda pushing it on a Topaz. You can always install Zenyee's cab to disable htc messaging, and then there's this UI to mimic a more decent cosmetic by Astronout.
Yes, I know that, I meen that new roms which are based on manila 2011 got this crappy htc messaging, so that's not working for me... Or maybe I just got something wrong Meanwhile when TESS Leo III is downloading, I try this cab, thanks

I personally can confirm this using Tess prime I and if you disable HTC messaging then you'll get the old messaging from 2.1 but with a little side effects such as the notification bubble in messaging tab will not disappear sometimes it won't rarely it will also time stamps might be off as well but it does work and fast at that
