Build # 23041: has any of these excellent cooks tried it? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

As per topic title

i'm working on it right now

Sweet! I hope it's not a light version and more of a full version.
I'm using 23037 right now and it's pretty stable, but a few things like connection problems at time and NO MMS so I have to flash back to my previous ROM.

I am using it in my 6.5.1 builds that will be posted tomorrow

nice and stable buid
l like new ui

i cant wait i am using the 23037 built and its good...

NRG is working with 23041 for his next build.

I presume that we will soon have some new rom with this build, but as chefs are working hard on it and still there isn't one, I also assume that there is non easy way.
I am personally quite worried about battery life.
It doesn't seem to me that going from 6.1 to 6.5 has got my phone better life.
Also, I don't understand why - being so few weeks before WM6.5 phones hit the shelves - there are still no "full stable" 6.5 leaks...

I def. had a BIG improvement in battery life doing the switch! I went from 4 hours tops on heavy use to 9 hours on heavy use. I still need to carry my charger with me when I go to work, but that's not a big deal.

To be sincere, and trying not to go o.t., I definitely have increased my phone calling time since last economic downfall, so I don't have a clue about whether or not my battery life is worsened due to 6.5 or recession....

Whats the best overall ROM for you

ive seen a lot of custom ROMS flying around and i just want to know base from your experience what has been the best that you guys have used.
i wish i can flash my x1 and use every ROM here but i think that might be a bit too much
anyway feel free to share your thoughts.
well...i like the original best...beacuse i don't like manila at all, that is the way of diamond, but anyway, thanks everyone working on the x1 rom
I'm loving Touch-it v7, with fantastic version of Touch Flow 3d (with facebook integration).
I have not tried many other roms, so can't comment on how it compares, but the Touch-it series has definitely got my recommendation!
Everyone has different preferences though, so it's probably worth you looking at various ROM threads to see what fits best with you, then try them out.
I have found the new Topaz/Rhodium ROM's to be very buggy at the moment and have decided to avoid using them until the various issues are resolved.
At the moment I am using WildChild's ROM which is really fast and fairly bug-free. It's pretty much the stock ROM which has been fine-tuned with a few HTC utilities added for convenience.
As it stands we're pretty much spoiled for choice which is no bad thing.
I really like the 6.5 Roms here. Personally I do like my Rom best but that only because it has included the files that I want
I think every 6.5 Rom here around is worth to try. In my Opinion 6.5 is ready for all-day-use, due to its only a beta
they need to sort out the lock application. its pretty bad. just try playing a song then lock the phone. stutters quite a bit. same when the alarm goes off, stuttering. needs some refinement.
hm dont lock when youre listening to music?! You can online deactivate Screen so the device will only reactivate when u press this little button. I doubt that you can press it by accident in your pocket.
I'm stilll at Itje's 5.061 with all the fixes applied.
In my X1 it's stable and fast, and as everything works as intended I find no need to update to the newer v7 or another custom rom.
The newly released 6.5-501 roms are tempting me, but I'll think I'll wait till may as it's when 6.5 just gets released (althrough I think were gonna see something much similar to this latest build)

This thread is about what the best ROM is. Already we're seeing workarounds for WM6.5... Though I'm sure it may become the best option in the future, you surely can't be promoting a beta ROM as the best option for the XPeria?
For me, I am using Norti ROM with Radio ROM 1.11.25.76. It is very stable and fast. Anyway, I love to try a new thing. The ROM I would like to try next is going to be Touch-IT WM6.5 .
Questions for the best/worst/blablabla ROM are FORBIDDEN here!
I've tried a lot of different roms, and I found "timurs rom wm 6.5 manila lancapture" to be the best. I has WM6.5 with TF3D.... plus little to no bugs. You cain't go wrong with that.

Aye, that is the only downside ive found. 6.5 is otherwise very usable on a daily basis. so for me it is the best option.. using touch it Official 6.5, its great

yeah the top button works fine, but i meant the inbuilt windows lock function. if its there it should work
i know what you meant ^^ and yes you're right. But i think such a thing is not very necessary
apologies if this kind of topic is forbidden. i didnt know. anyway thanks for the input. ive settled with Touch-it 7 and i have to say its awesome. spent a few hours downloading the fixes and what have you but after it it was all good. have just been using it for 2 days so i still cant say for sure. but so far so good. i recomend it.

Hi there, i tried your Rom last night and just a couple of things i noticed that seem to be popping up in a few of these cooked roms...
my Gwes.exe started around 13mb and over night jumped up to 32mb, this is from a fresh install, nothing installed and hard resetted....
Your lockscreen at first fine then eventually displayed the classic only half screen cover issue...
other then that everything worked perfect though i wish total commander was unisntallable...

yeah, I know about lockscreen Its made to skin the 230xx ++ builds withe the new 6.5 GUI (big buttons etc) it works better there, but they still have some work to do on that.
Rom is using ram/xip diffrently then most other roms, use more memory, but increase speed in many operations.

Searching for a pure 6.5.3 Update

Hello folks,
I appriciate the hard work of all the chiefs. The Roms a most of the time close to perfect.
But, since they are usually customized by the chiefs, they are not 100 % that what I am looking for.
This is why am asking now, if one of chiefs could just bring out a pure windows mobile 6.5.3. update with only the basic stuff in it.
This might be an idea for the other windows versions as well, as some people prefer 6.5.or 6.1 versions.
I thank you folks in advance, if someone eventualy comes up with that rom.
Cheers
Jens
100% pure would mean the camera would not work
the optical "joystick" would not work and the led's would not work
everything that x1 got that is not "normal" wm is a customisation
Well,
let me then adjust:
It would be nice, ifit is a rom as pure as possible, with all the basic features as there is the camera, joystick, led etc.
It should not have other software , like panels, widgets, themes etc.
This would be me request.
OR, if possible, having a software, that would allow me to delete all the precooked stuff that I do not need.
Anya, this is only an idea. Maybe on of the things is possible.
Cheers
jens
I think Christian's clean 6.5.3 ROM is pretty close to what you are hoping for.
Well, I have that one on my X1 right now,
and you are right: It is the closest I can get right now. But there is still a whole lot of MB used in that rom. About 135 Mb. It has alot of themes ands applications in it.
If I look at gtrabs pure 6.5 beta version, which has only about70 MB size.
This is why I suppose, that the 6.5.3 Version could be reduced to a minimum.
This is why I hope, somebody would upload a very pure verison.
Cheers
Jens

I have it on the X1 right now, but that rom is unfourtunatly packed with software which I do not need.
Is there a way to get rid of the unneeded software? Like deleting themes and panelmanager. It is not listed in the "remove software" section.
Nevertheless, the rom is quite fast, though not as fast as christians rom is.
@ st-mark: isn't sutys roms a 6.5 rom and not a 6.5.3 rom? I thought he has the windows start button on top and not at the bottom.

Well, I tried Sutys Roms and the 826x Rom
The 826x Rom was acually pretty nice. It was quite fast and stable, even though it was loaded with a lot of other software. People who like the X2 Stuff should have a lock at that one. (the 826x was marked as a 6.5.5 Rom)
The size of the Rom was about 136 MB as far as I remember.
Compared to Christians Rom I felt, that Christians Rom was a bit more fluent, but almost no difference in Speed and Stayability. The 826x Rom has a different Software package. There were some nice apps included like powerradio, and some other stuff I haven't seen before. So the 826x is worth a try, though it has a lot of software included.
Sutys Basic Rom was a little problematic for me. I had troubles with the screen turning off after waking the device up. This happens two to three times and then I got to the homescreen.
This procedure happend often (well, often: I used the rom for about 8 hours . Suty wrote, that this might have been because of the SmartLock Programm. I do not know if other users had the same problem.
Besides that it went quite fast, though in my eyes not as fast as Christians Rom. And there were still some apps I would not have needed.
Finally Sutys Lite Rom:
That one is for me right now the optimal rom. It does not have a lot of fancy apps included. In fact, more or less only the basic and needed stuff to get the X1 working (Including camera etc.).
The Rom Size is about 70 MB or less, as far as I remember.
It is really fast and stayable. No problems yet with this Rom. (Only one activesync thing, but that was not caused by the rom, but by my desktop).
If one needs a real clean and light version, Sutys lite Rom is the one I would recommend.
Cheers
Jens
What about batteries?
I'm using Sutys Lite Rom too.
And I met a battery trouble, described at the page#13.
I wonder if you have the same? Or may be some of my software spoils?

Build 28205 had battery trouble on X1.
It's my conclusion after...
Reading many posts here..
Testing few X1 Build 28205 roms..
For example...
On Christian 28205 build rom (version 3.904) in 12 hours, phone lost 49% of battery (sleep time, all things off, etc.), but on build 23518 (version 4.001) battery works fine for me now (still testing).
Something unbelievable
On the last two days my batteries drained totally in ~16 hours.
Today I used phone in the same intensivity, but I have ~40% else at the end of the day. Fantastic! I'm going to renovate the ROM and use it for few days with NO third-pary software installed.
Sorry for my English too ;-)
PS: Take a look at my last message at the subject thread.

I kinnda disagree...the 4.001 also drains the battrey...i installed it for a day, charged it 100%..went for a bath, came back and saw after a couple of messages and 1 call, the battry was 86%....so, yea the battrey issue still persists...but now im looking forward for a WinMo 6.7..

Best Sense 2.5 Rom?

I've stayed away from anything Manilla for months now. I was tired of a sluggish interface. However I was thinking about giving it another shot to see what our fantastic chefs were able to do it it. So in everyone's opinion what is currently the FASTEST 2.5 rom out there that uses the WM 6.5.5. Any input would be much appreciated.
Oh and another thing I was curious about. Another reason I stopped using it was because it didn't really cooperate well with Iconsoft Phonex. Does anyone know if they clash still? (One example of a problem i had was HTC favorite contacts wouldn't go through to place a call when clicking a contact)
thanks
opinion here
read, try and find out 4 yourself
best
I am asking for speed, that is something measurable. I remember people would ask these all the time and quite often there was a general consensus like "Try Touch X Final. Its super fast!" or "Oh man! spikegotti's UnOff series is the best!"
So i was just wondering if there was a specific ROM that most people had more success with than others. If you don't have an answer or are annoyed by the thread I am sorry, but no one is forcing you to post an answer. I was just looking for anyone that had legitimate input. I'd prefer not to completely waste two days flashing every single ROM only to find out that i still dont really like manilla
Well, then do some research on your own. You know, users talk about how they felt the speed is like in threads of different roms. Have a look what rom appeals to you and then read some comments...would not be bad, would it?
I agree with other people, but I would also advice to start your searching from Valkyrie TR 6.0.28232
Try Valkyrie's rom. In my opinion it's fast, stable and you have all needed applications preinstalled
To help your case:
click the link in my signature. There are pretty good, fast, stable and bug-less roms on that blog. Also you could try blaze or valkyries like it has been mentioned already.
So except Valkryie is there another ROM that has Sense 2.5 and stable...Thanx a TON!!

Does the battery drain, also do u have the SOD(Phone freezing after sleep mode) and more than that, is it stable??
I genuinely recommend NRG's Energy Leo 23541 build - i've been using it for just over a week and it is simply amazing; with all my own apps added to the plethora of USEFUL apps already installed, it still flies along at top speed.
Note: Best practise is always to flash the ROM, then hard reset (Press the reset button whilst holding down the two front buttons under the screen) - this ensures best speed/stability!
See the ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562935
Baring in mind i'm a tight b****rd; i have actually donated for this ROM. That says something!!

Hi,

Not sure about hte SOD issue you speak about.. if you mean does the phone freeze after I've unlocked the screen lock then no I generally havent experianced any freezeing on the phone since installing this ROM so basically I find it very stable.

Noob here...

there is no such thing as the best rom. u will have to find out by your self flashing all the different roms you are interested in and test them out if they fit your needs. i think christians rom is a good start. its fast and he offers different versions.
all your data (except those on the sd card) will be lost. but there are programs to back them up.

I'm in the same boat.
What ROM did you eventually go with? Are you impressed with the result?
I have tried alot of different roms, however I have one clear preference.
IMO the best Windows 6.5 Rom is this one: http://826x.blogspot.com/
I would get the version without HTC Sense.
I am currently running the "ROM 826X Windows Mobile 6.5.5 build 23519" version, and am getting 2-3 days battery life with moderate day to day use.
ANY other 6.5 rom that I have tried has been 1-1.5 days, however these have all been HTC Sense / TF3D roms.
If you do not mind about battery life then the Agent_47 / itje / NRGZ28 roms are all excellent, and offer additional eye candy.
Happy flashing.
i've been getting 2 days battery out of the latest agent roms! thats with sense 2.5 on too!

First thing to save battery life in the NRG ROMs is to set the backlight settings. That can save a lot of battery.....

I've settled with the Energy ROM, but am now trying the 23554 build to see if it's any better. With my extended life battery, I get upto a week of casual texting, and it's got HTC Sense 2.5 which I would now insist on having on the phone at all times
Thanks for the replies guys

I'm currently using 23545 (non manila). I really like it. I'd like to try the Energy ROM, but I don't like manila. Plus, swapping ROMs every few days gets tiresome.
Do you know how to resize pictures for MMS? My 6.1 ROM gave me the option to compress a picture before added it to the message. 826X's ROM Doesn't.
^ cancel request. Managed to find the menu to decrease picture size for MMS. Blairingly obvious too - MMS option, Photo resolution, VGA.
